Venom is cold hearted and very manipulative. He doesn't rely on strength to take what he wants, but rather the power of a smooth tongue and meaningful threats. He turned the whole pack against the original alphas and took their place, choosing their grand daughter as his mate.
While the original alphas are much more powerful than he, his power of manipulation keeps them at bay, by controlling the stronger and younger pack members.
These pack members are mostly the alphas own kin and thus, the alphas can not bring themselves to fight back, besides the fact they are outnumbered.
Venom chooses to allow them to live though, finding a rather wicked natured fondness for Fox Fang, the previous alpha female in her strong willed nature and stubborn streak. He likes to taunt her and get into her head.
Grey Fang, the old alpha male, he keeps around simply because of his skills in battle and for no other reason besides that. He knows Grey Fang will not attack his own young or grandchildren. He uses this to his advantage.
As to Lion Fang, the female he chose for his mate. He has no love for her; to him, she is merely a vessel in which to produce a powerful heir.
Lion Fang, sadly is wholly unaware of this fact. She believes his lies about how he loves and cares for her well being.
Venom also has his own advantages besides being manipulative and cunning.
He is able to manipulate and hide within the shadows of the forest as well as having a venomous bite.
This too, he uses as a way to keep the pack under his crooked paw as well as the ability to turn into other creatures, usually of the venomous variety, including that of a cobra.
He does have a weakness however, but that, of course he keeps secret.
Preferences
Venom desires nothing more than power and control.
He holds no love for anyone. Perhaps, not even his own offspring.
He has no qualms about banishing or even killing off any of his own offspring that does not fit his standards.
