Born during a humid summer evening, in the midst of an early June rain-shower, Arean had been the eldest son amongst his littermates. Having been produced within a well-known pack, his mother bearing a position of empowered, pups were reared with the expectations of maintaining the good name of their birth pack. These prospects leans more heavily onto the shoulders of young Arean, whom was guaranteed a higher rank due to his valued heritage and the countless achievements of his relatives.
His training began within weeks of his first journey beyond the walls of the nursery, far earlier than that of an ordinary pup. Despite this, driven by his own ambitions and determination, Arean was soon able to surpass even the eldest students. While his skills continued to rapidly progress, so did the jealous hatred from the other students. These adolescent wolves, awe-struck and frightened by Arean, devised a plan to rid this problem.
Beneath the cover of the night, while the remainder of the pack slept, they lured Arean from the camp, where they proceeded to attack him. Although the intentions had been to simply scare him away, it escalated swiftly when, during the commotion, Arean lost his footing; Upon striking his head, while tumbling down the hill, he was rendered unconscious. Those responsible mistook him for dead, and in their panic, fled from the scene.
Dawn had barley grazed the horizon when Arean was found, battering and broken from prior events, by a scouting wolf originated from a bordering pack. Taking mercy on him, the scout cared for Arean until he had become strong enough to travel, and then took him to her pack. Where he was adopted by the alpha pair.
