Character Description

Biography
They gather around in the clearing, waiting with pricked ears and wide eyes to be chosen by a pack. One of them, a pup with a pelt the colour of flames that glows radiant in the sun, lifts his head higher as wolves gravitate towards him. He breathes in deeply, regarding them with calm dark blue eyes that are like pools of the midnight sky against his sunset fur.

There are many that circle him, admiring his large paws and already-broadening shoulders that speak of his future strength and size, the glossiness of his coat, his lineage and the feats of his ancestors. But there is one that approaches him, watching him intensely with dark, dark eyes.

She is old, older than most of the wolves that have come. She is not so very large, nor as strong or swift. But her snowy white pelt is sleek and slashed with scars of battles won, and her eyes are serious and solemn. She slinks around him, as insubstantial as a ghost and sends shivers down his spine - he can feel the power and wisdom of her years and all those that she has defeated.

You, she seems to declare. I want you.

He rises to his paws, fearful and awed of the she-wolf that growls fiercely at the few that dare challenge her claim. Her sharp teeth flash white in the dying light as she snarls, a fearsome sound that ripples through the clearing and causes several wolves to flatten their ears and tuck their tails back in submission.

Come, she says. I am Snow, and I lead pack Winter Haven after the death of my mate, Strike. My time has nearly come, but I will not leave my pack vulnerable in my final defeat.

He listens with wide eyes, stumbling slightly as he tries to keep up with her and her longer legs. But she pauses to let him catch up, waiting patiently, and as he looks up at her, he sees her dark eyes soften just slightly. She nudges his smaller body to his paws, rasping her tongue over his ears.

I will train you, and you will become one of the most fearsome warriors that the forest has ever seen. May you blaze a trail bright before you, my little Sun.
