Velvet is not named after anyone, I found a name I liked on google and used it.
Velvet is the true female leader of the pack for she bears the leader symbol upon her shoulder. She is the true mate to Fang, she is also part of the beginning of the pack. With Fang at her side she will continue servicing the pack until the day she passes. Unlike Fang she is harsher then him, which the other wolves tend to not like how strict she can be. However, Fang can often keep her in line so she doesn't harm any of the pack unnecessarily.
