I let them think I'm fine; but really, I'm just... surviving.
She stood, completely frozen, her blood an aching pulse of nothingness. Her surroundings -- being the wintry forest, newly clothed with snow -- seemed to fade away, leaving vast plains in which pain could slip. Her body, once a reminder of youthful beauty, had seemed to sink toward her bones; just leftovers of her previous self. As she stood, her figure shaky with fear, she realized that she was worthless. A pitiful soul among all the rest. A blank, frail monster.
Empty.
Her eyes widened as the world was rapidly drained of color; the blue of the sky shifted to white, as did everything else - as if her life, her hope, was being destroyed along with the land she called home. Like a sheet of paper, words were being erased. Memories gone, emotions vanishing, all she could do was watch.
Oblivion.
Flickers of earth raised in the cold air, vanishing; the ground, the trees, the wind, began to just... dissolve. Everything - gone. She slowly looked down at her forepaws, and watched as her own shape was torn apart; delicately, yet painfully.
And then, only one thing was left.
Silence.
