Sebastian sighed softly, and dropped the crimson rose delicately on the frosty ground. He laid down on the ice, as snowflakes drifted down from the sky in a graceful twirl. The full moon above stood out between the shifts of fog that partly obscured it from view, and a mass of twinkling stars illuminated the darkness.

It was peaceful up there, on the mountain top, where his thoughts were his alone. Sebastian sighed again, and stood while shaking his soft white pelt free of the bitter cold. It was time to go home, and face the consequences of his actions. He stopped a moment however, and peered at the rose - now crumpled - hidden under the depths of snow. The male wolf picked up the rose with his teeth, ignoring the thorns that nicked his mouth, drawing blood.
