Biography Matthew hadnÂ’t been born into his pack, but he did join it when he was young. He was raised by the betas and he grew up when SaddleÂ’s parents were Alphas. And to no oneÂ’s surprise, he didnÂ’t talk to Saddle at all. In fact, as a pup Matthew had, much like all the younger wolves, felt very hostile towards Saddle. Matthew, when he was young, often felt as if he had to do what everyone else was doing, if wolves from his pack were messing with some rogues that were outside of the territory, Matthew was as well. If all the wolves were messing with the more sociable, adopted, AlphaÂ’s kid, Matthew was as well. Did Matthew know that most of the things he was doing were bad? Yes, he knew that very well.
Matthew didnÂ’t really have a reason for why he felt he needed to follow the crowd, he would often tell himself that it was instinct, in his blood. But, his mind heart and mind alike constantly screamed at him to stop following the crowd, to do what he thought was right. Though, Matthew never listened. He did try every once in awhile to do something by his own accord, but after being laughed at by wolves his age he never tried to think independently again.
That was until he was older. Saddle had became Alpha female, the late Alphas had left without goodbyes. Everyone in the pack was getting used to the changes that came with a new Alpha. It was a second month of SaddleÂ’s Alphaship when a wolf had pretty much appeared out of thin air. She had walked onto the territory, into the den, straight up to Saddle, and demanded a place in her pack. Everyone was so baffled with this wolf that they didnÂ’t even know how to react. Matthew, on the other hand, and found himself fuming at this new wolf for the way she presented herself. For the first time in a long time, Matthew acted independently, he had gone up to Saddle and told her not to let this random wolf into the pack, he spouted some accusations, but he thought for himself and he acted upon it. After his brave move, it took all he had to really hold back his excitement and new found confidence by his show of his own freedom.
Though, to MatthewÂ’s disappointment, Saddle had let the wolf into the pack. Their new pack member didnÂ’t talk much, but by the conversations Matthew had with her, he figured out that she was very allocentric. He had also learned that her name was Trouble. Over time Trouble opened up to Matthew and began to talk to him more. In return, Matthew began to develop feelings for her. Matthew would often find excuses to just be around Trouble and many wolves from their pack began to take notice.
What really made Matthew completely fall for this wolf was a conversation they had. Trouble and him were on border patrol when Trouble, out of nowhere, told Matthew that he shouldn't be afraid to do what he wants to do, not what everyone else wants him to do. She told him that she admired the bravery he had when he spoke against her to Saddle when he wanted to join the pack, which Matthew found very puzzling. But, TroubleÂ’s words lit a fire in him, he began to be more vocal of what he was feeling and he began to do what he wanted to do.
Matthew wouldnÂ’t lie, it felt good. He also found himself feeling more confident in himself and what he could do. He became more talkative and all together a better person. He still thanks Trouble for what she had done for him, because he wouldnÂ’t have been him if it wasnÂ’t for her.
