Character Description

Biography
Nal'vera is the former Alpha female of the Arkytior pack. She took over the Alpha position from her mother, Kimaris, in the winter of her third year after Kimaris and Jasken left the pack. That spring she whelped her first litter, and her oldest daughter Lillith who took the position of Beta from her grandmother Kimaris in the spring of her second year, and became Alpha in the spring of Nal'vera's ninth year.

Like her grandfather, Nal'vera is a diplomat, but she learned from her grandmother to demand the respect she deserves. She has many friends, her closest, other than her mate Wendigo, being her uncle Balthazar, and Nashalya. The four enjoy trips to the swimming hole together, where she, Balthazar, and Nashalya swim and Wendigo looks for small tokens for his mate.

Nal'vera has a love for shiny things and anything she can use to decorate her nest. She has quite a collection of shells, feathers, crystals, flowers, and pretty stones which she arranges around her nest. Most of them she's found herself, though a few of her favorites were gifts from Wendigo.

Nal'vera is an enthusiastic swimmer and has taught all of her pups this skill at a young age. She continues to try to goad Wendigo into lessons, but he has thus far managed to slip them each time. She takes it all in stride though, and finds her mate's staunch refusal to learn to swim funny.

She is an exceptional hunter of birds, sandhill cranes being her favorites to hunt as the large birds provide quite a challenge. She is a natural mother, having birthed twelve pups over four litters, all of whom, besides Lillith, have found homes in other packs.

Her mate is Wendigo, her choice of him coming as no surprise to anyone since the two had been close friends since they were pups. She has a great love for him, and was more than happy when his skills as a strategist matched hers as a diplomat, making them a very good match.

Quick and intelligent like her grandmother, with her grandfather's knack for diplomacy. Nal'vera makes friends easily and nearly always has a kind word for everyone. A bit of a perfectionist.

Preferences
Because of the thick coat she inherited from her father, she prefers the autumn months when it's cooler and the foliage helps her blend in. Nal'vera is an avid swimmer. Her favorite food is pheasant.
