Biography
The young male cursed himself again as his older brother pinned him to the ground beneath him. His brother's stunning yellow eyes mirrored those of his father, the wolf he aspired to be. But he couldn't. Out of all his siblings, he resembled his father the least. Dark pelt, deep blue eyes, stained muzzle, all of the traits his father didn't have. He growled with frustration and pinned his ears back. "I'm leaving." Those were the only words he would ever utter to his brother. Some place in his sharp mind, he must have realized that he would never grow, never attain perfection if he stayed in his pack, with its confining restrictions and binding contracts. He left the territory undisputed. If he couldn't meet his father's standards, he would just have to make his own. The young male wandered for a season, or maybe it was a year. They blurred together in his mind, the sharp mind that always seemed to know what was going on. When the herds would move, which one was the sickest, how to hunt and avoid predators.
He paused from his hunt one day, lowering his powerful head towards the water as he lapped up the refreshing liquid. He opened his eyes, vaguely remembering the annoyance he once felt that they were not yellow. As he raised his gaze, he turned to return back into the forest. He froze suddenly, returning his gaze to a place he had missed before, a presence that had gone completely unnoticed until that very moment. The moment when he met the piercing yellow eyes of the wolf that was to become his alpha.
