Biography I suddenly found myself on my back, pinned to the forest floor, and looking up at a dark female. She was old, her muzzle had turned grey, but then again, so had mine at that point. "What are you doing in my pack's territory?" she growled out. That was when I realized that her age had not dimished her strength or authority. I respect that. I tilted my head back, exposing the soft part of my neck.
"I'm just passing through," I said, laying still. She sniffed the air.
"You smell like a loner," she stated, getting off of me.
"I am a loner," I replied, getting to my paws. "I left my old pack because what they were doing was wrong."
"What were they doing?" the dark pelted female asked me curiously. She seemed relaxed, but the slight twitch of her shoulder muscle told me that she was anything but relaxed. Further examination of her body revealed scars and hardened muscles across her entire body, a warrior, through and through. Something in her eyes though held gentleness, a mother and a leader.
"Killing pups and even older wolves who weren't good enough for them," I growled out before falling silent, suddenly aware of everything I had just said to a complete stranger. "That's why I left," I finished, kind of lamely.
"If you're looking for a new pack, I just became the alpha of mine. We could use a few more experienced members to help the younger ones," she offered.
"I will think about it," I said, reluctent to keep talking. She escorted me to the edge of the territory, but I didn't go far. She was, in a word, beautiful. It wasn't as if I hadn't seen pretty females before, but there was something different about this one. I finally crossed the territory line again and this time found her camp.
True to her word, the female, who turned out to be named Adora, accepted me into her pack of misfits. I have never seen a more ragtag and varied group of wolves in my life, but somehow they managed to stay together. They were also very close, and seemed to accept each other's every flaw. Even the ones with defects that couldn't earn their way very well.
~Six Months Later~
I have fallen head over heels in love with Adora, now my beautiful mate. I looked at her as she lay sleeping next to me. Her name means "Adoration", and I plan on treating her like the queen she should be treated like for the rest of our lives.
"What are you doing?" Adora asked sleepily, opening her eyes. She must have sensed me watching her.
"I'm looking at the most beautiful wolf in the world," I replied instantly, completely serious.
"Do that later, go to sleep," she said, tucking her nose beneath her paw in a way that I loved. I panted in amusement, but obeyed and settled down beside the wolf who had become my world.
