Biography
Dashing through the darkness, Nyx gasped for air in short bursts as she sprinted, paws pounding the earth and flattening the short grass in her path. The moon shimmered in the clear night sky, the peaceful atmosphere contrasting against the overwhelming fear encasing the she-wolf's mind. Her green orbs were wide, focusing on the forest surrounding the large field that grew closer with every step. Her heart pounded in her ears. Her tongue lolled from her open muzzle. Her breath created rushed clouds of mist. Through the blindness of her panic, she could sense the two vicious alphas still on her tail, snarling ferociously as they chased the young wolf into the dense woods.
Nyx daren't look back. Her brown-cream fur stood on end, the cold chill of the air weaving through her pelt. Her muscles burned with an excruciating pain. It seared through her entire body, causing her muscles to twitch uncomfortably. Still, with her ears flattened against her skull, she continued to run.
She felt like she'd ran for hours before she slowly came to a stop. Though the alpha pair had stopped chasing her moons ago, she still ran. Over the shadowy trees, many bright hues of orange and pink were erupting in the sky, signifying yet another sunrise.
Her legs gave out. She collapsed with a dull thud.
Her nerves were still alight with adrenaline, but she couldn't move. Her body wouldn't let her. She wanted to keep running. Nyx could feel their hot breath on her neck, their snarls in her ears, their threatening, intimidating presence looming behind her, snapping at her tail and howling into the night.
Nyx hadn't been near any other wolves for months. Years, even. She couldn't even remember the scarring day she had been chased out of her pack.
She was strong. She knew how to hunt; she could run with haste for hours on end and her bulky frame allowed her to defend herself with ease.
Yet, still, when she was barely an adolescent, they saw *too much* potential in her lithe, toned structure, her sharpened claws and overall skill.
So they decided the pack would be better off without her.
And to this day, they still find her. They still chase her further and further away.
Despite this, and regardless of having to run from her alphas like a frightened doe nearly every night, Nyx still held much kindness in her heart.
Which is why, when an unfamiliar pack approached her, she joined without hesitation.
"Naive little runt," she heard one of the other wolves whisper in a rough, yet femenine tone, their pitch-black fur stained with dry bloodstains and their claws overgrown. "She's a reckless fool. We don't need any more mouths to feed."
The pessemistic she-wolf was ignored, however, and Nyx found herself in a new, accepting home like no other.
A while after joining, she stopped her nightly ritual of running away from wolves who weren't chasing her.
