Demonspawn and cold to his being, Caleb isn't exactly thrilled to be Nick's guardian. He was a commander of legions until a bitter betrayal enslaved him to the Malachai.
He hates the Malachai, and all he really wants is his freedom.
Though he is classified as a daeva (mid level) demon, his powers are a lot greater than the others of his kind. His real skin tone is red.

With a bright flash, the crow became Caleb in his full demon form. The black armor he wore appeared to bleed from every crevice. Rivulets of red ran all over the metal and dripped silently to the floor. With long orange hair, he had yellow eyes like a serpent.
If that didnÂ’t clash enough, his skin was as red as the ooze on his armor. His black, leather-like wings expanded and twitched as if daring Thorn to attack him.

Caleb is hostile most if the time cause he really can't help it. Especially around Nick who tends to get on everyones nerves. But he is still one of Nick's best friends. Caleb is naturally aggressive since he is a Esme Daeva (blood thirsty/destructive demon) but he can be kind and gentle. A good example of this was when ever he was with Myone, his human wife who was a pure and kind soul. She saved him when they first met while he was vulnerable and being hunted down. Myone cared for him for many days, treating his wounds and showing him the only compassion he had ever received. Caleb became revengeful and even more brutal after Myone was murdered. He suspected it was his half bother Xevikan who set it up. And he blamed him for a long time.
