The story begins in early spring. The weather is moderate, still chilly in the early mornings and evenings, but decently warm during the day, averaging typically 40-50°F. Snow is still occasional, though typically melts swiftly. Small snow banks still exist in the territories, though these are swiftly melting away. Days are slowly becoming longer as the summer solstice approaches. Prey is still somewhat rare, the shortage will not be noticeable until later in the season. -:- Please remember the rules in this RP. Neryth | F | Alpha Female | Golden Forest Pack Mention: Storm (Indirect) Neryth yawned, awakening within her den beneath the roots of the immense willow tree. She lifts her head, seeing Storm still sleeping beside her. She smiled faintly before standing, her back arching in a stretch. With a soft huff, she shakes out her dark coat before stepping out into the brisk morning air. The sun is just beginning to rise, splashes of color appearing in the sky. It's going to be a beautiful day, she can tell already. A drop of cold water lands on her head, and she growls softly, glaring up at the clumps of snow still melting from the branches of the willow tree. With another huff, she pads out from beneath the branches of the tree, wandering towards where the prey stash normally is. Noting the low food storage, she makes a mental note to ask ___ (need character name) to take a patrol hunting later. Edited at August 1, 2023 07:45 PM by Shenzu

Saige | F | Golden Forest | Nursing Mother | M: Aashvi, Shyla(dir), Neryth(ind) The unique looking fae would awaken as she heard the birds outside, and her pups rustling around within the den. Lowering her audits, Saige would stand up and let out a small grunt. "You're going to wake everyone up, calm yourselves.. Please." She mentioned to them as she made her way toward the exit of the den, her pups chasing her as they attempted to suckle for milk. Sitting down, she'd watch as the sun peaked over the horizon. It was peaceful for her to watch the sunrise. Ouch! Looking down, Saige would see her two pups, brown and black tails wagging happily behind them as they bent themselves in odd ways just to eat. Reaching her cranium down, she'd gently nudge them both before watching as they both ran out of the den by maybe a few feet, rustling around with one another. Being the only two puppies, they didn't have many others to play with. Saige then laid down and smiled gently, her tail curling around her hind legs as she watched them. As she watched her pups, she noticed a figure moving behind them. Her onyx colored eyes blinking a few times to let them adjust to the light. It was her alpha, Neryth. Smiling, she'd allow the other to go on her way without a word, turning her attention back to her pups. Akela | M | Dark Pines | Warrior | M: Open The slim bodied wolf had already been up for a few hours. His figure moved through the early morning light with slight ease. Akela knew he needed sleep, but he always got very little. His body never allowed him to stay asleep once he was asleep. As he trotted into the camp, he looked around, not seeing anyone awake yet. Sighing, he would just go back to the warrior den, laying at the entrance for now. Yukon | F | Head Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Open A large figure moved within the early rays of sun, her orange pelt glinting as her muscles moved and shifted beneath it. The smell of rabbit blood could be scented as she walked into camp, her tail flicking behind her as her white audits laid gently on her crania. It was rather nice to go hunting on her own, even if it was for smaller prey. Though, she took the meal for herself, laying on the outskirts of the camp, gnawing on one leg of the rabbit, tearing the meat from it. She wasn't very talkitive this early in the morning, and she just hoped her packmates would remember that. Edited at August 2, 2023 08:08 AM by Yukon's Castle

Rameses│M│Warrior│Golden Forest Pack Mention: Neryth (direct) Rameses laid outside one of the warriors dens, his chin resting on his paws. His golden-green eyes lifted a little, watching intently as the sun began to rise. His long bushy tail curled neatly around his body as he shivered slightly at the chilly morning breeze. His ears twitched silently as he listened to the drops of water and melting snow falling to the forest floor with soft trickling sounds around him. After several moments of listening to the sounds of the forest, a new sound reached his ears. A familiar sound. Rotating his ears first to clearer hear the noise, he lifted his head and turned to see Neyrth emerging from her den into the morning air. He felt the muscles along his spine relax at the sight and smell of her. Despite knowing she and her mate slept in the den every night, he couldn't help but be relieved when either of them emerged from their slumber. It was simply a reinforcement that they were a strong and loyal pack who's leaders could not be better. Rameses was proud of the pack he called a family and the lands upon which he called home. He had never felt so proud as the day he'd been named a Warrior for the Golden Forest Pack. He kept a respectful gaze on her as she moved towards the prey stash and its measly remains. The large wolf pushed himself to his paws, reaching his front legs forward and his his hips to the sky in a long, big stretch before shaking himself vigorously. Opening his mouth into a gaping yawn, a pleased whine left his throat. Rameses licked his lips and began heading in Neyrth's direction. Walking up opposite her, he approached the prey stash, sniffing what little remained. Without deciding on what picking he wanted, he settled himself on his haunches dipping his head in a polite greeting to his Alpha. "Good morning Neryth," he said kindly. "Bit of a chilly morning isn't it?" He lifted his snout to the air, sniffing it. "I wonder how much prey will be up and about."

Dapple | F | Apprentice | Golden Forest Pack | Mention: Rameses (Direct) The rising sun slid in golden slants through the gaps in the Apprentice's den, cascading over the small bundle of fur curled tightly in the center of the otherwise empty space. Dapple's eyes blinked open blearily, cloudy with sleep they peered around. With a yawn she slowly uncurled herself from her nest, her forelegs planting themselves on the soft moss covered earth as she stretched her back high into the air. Her tail brushed the top of the den, causing droplets of cold water to cascade onto her. Shivering as they seeped into her thin coat she shook herself fully awake, standing and moving towards the entrance. Once out of the shade she squinted her eyes, her nose to the air as she sniffed slowly. The low thrumming of water dripping off trees as snow melted slowly away from their leaves filled the forest. She strained her ears, wondering whether the prey was stirring in their burrows by now. The soft hush of voices brought her attention from the green canopy of her territory back into the camp. Amber eyes swung around slowly, finding the pack empty save for her mentor and her Alpha female. Excitement ran through her as she walked forward, dipping her head low in a respectful greeting, her cream tipped tail brushing the ground as she fought the urge to start bounding up and down like a pup out of the nursery. "Good morning Rameses, good morning Neryth." She murmured, sniffing at the pitiful looking prey pile. She chose a small chaffinch for herself, stepping away before sitting down. Her belly rumbled but she waited to see if the two older wolves were going to take something for themselves. "What are we doing today Rameses?" She asked, unable to hide the enthusisasm burning at her pelt.

Rameses│M│Golden Forest Pack Mentions: Dapple (direct) Rameses turned his head as he heard pawsteps approaching. His golden-green eyes lit up a little as he caught sight of young Dapple, his smart apprentice coming towards himself and the Alpha female. His face remained stoic as the adolescent greeted him, but the tiniest wag of his tail tip indicated he was pleased to see her. "Good morning Dapple," he said, greeting her in return. He watched as she grabbed a small chaffinch from the pile, and her slight belly rumble reminded him of his hunger. He sniffed the pile once more before hooking his teeth onto the half eaten thigh of a deer, pulling it out for himself. He began to walk away, his ears rotating to listen as Dapple asked what they would be doing today. He flicked his tail at her, signaling her to walk with him. "Share breakfast with me," he said, his voice slightly muffled from the leg dangling from his mouth. "We can discuss it over a meal." He sauntered over to a spot somewhat near the nursery, but far enough away that it would not be considered intruding. The large warrior turned his head to check if his apprentice had followed. He set down the deer leg and laid himself down alongside it, scooping one leg beneath it and another paw on top for bracing. "I know it's just nearing spring," he said softly to Dapple, tilting his head in her direction. "That chaffinch is barely a snack for a growing she-wolf like you. You can share mine once you've finished if you'd like." His tone of voice sounded a bit monotone and careless, as if he was speaking out of obligation, but the large male was being sincere. He knew the hungers of an upcoming warrior, afterall, apprenticeship was a large time of mental growth and learning as well as physical. He wanted to make sure she had enough energy, although he was almost certain she would have had enough energy anyway. He admired her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Neryth | F | Alpha Female | Golden Forest Mention: Pups (indirect), Rameses (direct) Neryth turned her head slightly, noticing the pups. A soft smile touched her mouth as she watched them. 'Good. More warriors and hunters. We can always use more of those,' she thought to herself. Her ears flicked back as she heard her name, turning to Rameses. "It is rather chilly this morning," she replied. "I doubt much prey will be about with the cold. But hopefully there'll be some."
Kaisen | M | Warrior | Dark Pines Mention: Akela (direct) The large male stirred, grunting as he stretched, his muscles rippling beneath his coat. He paused to flick a few scraps of feathers from his coat, remanents from his nest, then turned towards the entrance. Not seeing the wolf laying across the entrance of the cave, he promptly tripped over the smaller male. Kaisen let out a snarl, whipping around to bare his teeth. "What the hell possessed you to lie there," he snapped, eyes burning with anger. He knew it was his own fault for not noticing, but he didn't want the embarrassment, so he chose to blame it on the other wolf. "Go lie somewhere else," he growled, turning and stalking away, his tail swishing with annoyance.
Arya | F | Hunter | Dark Pines Mentions: Akela (direct) The young female was already up and about. She enjoyed the early mornings, and was often up before the sun. A rumble of happiness stirred in her throat as she saw her brother, Kaisen, emerging from his den. It quickly dropped, however, as she saw him snap at the younger male. She sighed, letting Kai pad off before approaching Akela. "Don't mind him, he's a grumpy lump," she murmured. "I'm sorry he snapped at you like that." Edited at August 2, 2023 06:48 AM by Shenzu

Saige | F | Golden Forest | Nursing Mother | M: Rameses, Neryth, Dapple, Pups(dir) Accidentally slipping off into a light sleep from not getting enough sleep from the night before, Saige wouldn't notice one of her puppies begin to run rampid. Shyla stayed by the den, helplessly watching as her brother zoomed around one way or another. She whined as he disappeared out of what she could see and quickly went over too her mother, shaking her awake. Saige quickly woke up and noticed only one of her pups were around. "Aashvi?" she cautioned the air at first as she stepped out of the den. Her onyx orbs looking frantically around as she didn't see her puppy either. Though, as she seen the group, she knew he had too be over that way so started over. The small brown pup wiggled his tail as he bounded up too the group, looking up at the large wolves, they were much larger than his own mother. Smiling a little grin, he yipped before getting into a playful position. Akela | M | Dark Pines | Warrior | M: Kaisen, Arya(dir), Yukon(ind) Getting tripped over awakened Akela with a start, and as he was snapped at he yelped and cowarded away, lowering his audits as he watched the other male walk away. "I-I thought you would've had room!" He called after Kaisen and then heard another voice as he exited the den. Turning his body, his blue eyes would be met with a blue and a brown eye. He smiled softly at Arya, always appreciating her kind words. "Yeah.. He can just be so scary.." He stated toward her before looking around camp and spotting his leader of sorts.. Yukon, head of the warriors. She seemed to be enjoying one of her morning snacks. "As is she.. If that female came at me with any sort of haste, I'd probably piss myself." He stated with a small laugh, looking back toward Arya. Yukon | F | Head Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Kaisen(dir), Akela, Arya(ind) Hearing the snarl and yelping coming from familiar wolves, her cranium snapped toward the sounds. The females emeralds took in the sights of Kaisen snapping his large jaws at the smaller, slimmer yet muscular newbie warrior. She had yet to learn his name, but that told her he was nothing more than a suck up. Turning her attention back to Kaisen, she smirked and stood up. "Good Morning, Kaisen.. I see you've had a run in with our new recruit already." She chuckled, licking her crimson muzzle as she moved to stand up. Yukon was a rather large female wolf, he muscular endurance and strength making up for most of it.

Neryth | F | Alpha Female | Golden Forest Mentions: Aashvi (direct) Noticing the little one, she smiled slightly. "Where's your mother, little one?" She lowered herself to a crouch so she didn't tower over the pup quite so much. She was still much larger, twice his height at this level, but her nose was still closer to him.
Kaisen | M | Warrior | Dark Pines Mentions: Akela & Yukon "Well there wasn't," he growled, shooting a glare at his sister as she excused his snippy-ness. Huffing, he padded towards Yukon. "The newbies are always annoying... so full of themselves," he grumped, sitting down across from her. His amber gaze watched her movements with sharp attentiveness.
Arya | F | Hunter | Dark Pines Mentions: Akela (direct) "He's a big grumpy pants," she smiled, bending to tug a tuft of grass from between her claws. "He's always been like that. Don't take what he says to heart." Her ears flicked slightly, a slight frown creasing her face as she hears Kai's words. "Wanna come hunting with me? We're rather low on prey. And it'll take your mind off things." She smiled again, her light personality always shining through even when mildly irritated by things, such as her brother's harsh words. Saige | F | Nursing Mother | Golden Forest | M: Rameses, Neryth, Dapple, Pups(dir) The small pup looked up at the female wolf, his eyes following her as she laid down and stuck her nose out too him. Ignoring her question, he giggled and jumped on her nose, mouthing her face a little as he attempted to crawl up her head. Saige quickly trotted up, seeing her pup, she breathed a small relieved exhale. "Oh thank goodness.." She mumbled, before looking around the group of wolves. Saige was much smaller than them, but, she wasn't exactly intimidated. "I'm sorry for my son's mischeif, I dozed off for a mere second.." She stated with a small laugh. It was obvious that the mother was tired and stressed, but, she'd handle it. "Come along Aashvi," She stated. Shyla was hidden behind her mother, her small face peering around her mothers back legs to take a peek at the other wolves. She was a very shy pup, and it showed. Aashvi on the other hand, didn't want to listen and crawled all over the alpha, giggling as he did so. But, he soon growled as his mother picked him up, taking him over to his sister and setting him down beside her before turning her attention back to the others, "Again.. I am very sorry for my-" She was cut off by her son now trying to jump and grab onto Rameses tail, though, before she could grab him, he had managed to grasp a hold onto his tail. "Aashvi!" Saige growled, grabbing her son gently in her mouth and plopping him beside his sister again, giving him a scolding look. Akela | M | Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Arya Akela would take Arya's words and just nod, "Alright." He replied. Don't take it too heart.. Akela.. He thought to himself as he turned his full attention onto the female. Letting his eyes roam her pelt, she was rather pretty. Though, he mentally shook the thought away as she asked if he'd like to hunt with her. "Yukon won't kill me if I don't check with her first?" he asked with a small, nervous laugh. Yukon | F | Head Warrior | Dark Pines | M: Kaisen(dir), Akela, Arya(Ind) "You got that right." Yukon stated as she pushed her weight to her hind end and sat down. The light colored female then looked around camp, taking in the cool morning air. "I suppose you slept alright?" She questioned followed by a half snarky grin, almost as if knowing the answer already. Yukon could joke around at times, but, it was fun making her underwolves mad, especially Kaisen, he always took things so seriously.
