Dallas lifted his head, stood, and walked out of his den. The morning sun hadn't come up yet, but it would soon. He wondered when this dog pack would be there. Or maybe the dog had just lied, so they wouldn't be killed. Either way, he would be on the lookout anyways. Trotting out of the camp, he headed for where the deer liked to feed. He often started his day early, and began hunting before the rest of the camp awoke. His reason for this was because he wanted to train. He wanted to become the best hunter and warrior the pack had seen in years, and worked hard towards that goal. But until that day arrived, he was content to continue slaying creatures, working towards his dream. As Dallas approached the meadow, he slowed, checked the air for predators, then crept on quietly. Three deer were present, a young doe and buck, and an older buck. He smiled and soon was close enough to attack. Pushing off his hind legs, he hit the doe. The bucks snorted and bounded off into the forest, with the doe trying to follow, but she fell. Slashing at her head, he bit deep into the neck, killing her. Her struggles stopped as blood seeped from the wounds, and he licked his mouth clean of the blood. Taking her neck in his jaws, he began dragging the doe back to camp. A while later, after he had left the deer in the foodstash, Dallas was heading towards the ridge. He wanted to see if anything was approaching, as he did twice a day every day. He slowed, and stopped at the top. He did not take his eyes from the trail, and settled on a rock. Then he looked out, over the outside world. Instantly, something caught his eye. Something was coming, and fast. It would likely be there in the next day or two. He strained his eyes, trying to figure out what it was. After a moment, he realized it was the dog pack. He suppresed a gasp and turned, leaping off the rock. Bounding through the forest, he headed straight for the camp, knowing the pack, or half pack by now, needed to know the dog was right and there would soon be a war. As he dashed through the forest, he wondered why he seemed so frantic, since he shouldn't be. Pushing the thought aside, he continued onwards.

On the other side of camp Delta was sitting beside a stream, she was looking at herself in the crystal clear water and imagining what a pack of crazy dogs looked like. The sun was just starting to rise over the trees that where her home. The fiery sky turned the clouds pink and yellow. Looking at her reflection again she put the thought in the back of her mind and just admired herself. Delta was a red wolf like other wolves but she wasn't quite the same. Her reddish brown and gray coat were like others but her white brindle was different. That brindle helped her camouflage though, and her brown eyes and black nose were always ready for trouble. Her white tail twitched, something was wrong. Stalking back into camp she saw Dallas, he was running towards the pack from the woods. Delta knew that something wasn’t right, and as the beta female of the pack she needed to know what it was. She walked over to Dallas, sat on a tree stump and spoke to him. “What’s wrong?” Edited at January 19, 2021 12:23 PM by Frank's Wolf Pack

Night Hawk ran ahead, scouting out the location and environment. He could smell deer in the area and knew that this would be a good. His mission was to scout the area and then report back. He treaded carefully over the ground, making sure his tail didn't brush the ground as he crouched. Sniffing the path, he noticed a fresh wolf trail. Jumping to the top of the ridge, he saw a fleeing wolf disappear into the woods. Flicking his ears, he scouted the ridge before going towards the forest. The dense forest turned into a clearing where fresh and old deer scent marked it. Turning in a circle, he slipped into a crowd of shadows before following the deer scent. Before reaching it however, he caught the scent and sight of rabbits. Circling to downwind, he counted at least 5 rabbits. Crouching down, he went through the tall grass before pouncing fast. He slammed a paw down on one rabbit, pinning it while snapping the neck of another. He finished the one underneath his paw before leaping after the others. Most had fleed into the forest but he wasn't after them. Hurling himself into a burrow, he wormed his head down snapping up baby rabbits. The mother attacked him but he snapped her leg before pulling her out of the hole. Breaking her spine, he panted looking at his prey. No wonder there is so many wolves in this forest. The prey is plentiful. Picking up his prey, he headed back for the wolf pack in the distance. Alpha will be pleased to hear that prey is plentiful and that the environment will suit our needs and fighting style.

Eagle sighed and looked out at the sun. Sitting down, he looked back at his little pack. Recently, a new alpha, Tempest, had tooken over the once-peaceful wolf pack that lived in the valley. She loved killing and battling. Meanwhile, a dog pack had come to try to take over the valley. Eagle had no problem with the dog pack, in fact, he wished the tiniest bit that the dog pack would drive the wolves out of the valley so they could live in peace, with no killing each day. He was a peaceful alpha. But he could not be peaceful during this time of war. It was stressful, meeting with the dog pack and Tempest to try to keep things friendly. Eagle sighed again and lay down in exhaustion. [Flashback...6 years ago] Eagle tumbled around, playing with his sister. He swatted at her face, laughing. He didn't know about the conversation that was going on next to him. "I love you, dear." said a voice which he knew was his father. "As do I." his mother. "Would you like to join my pack?" His mother didn't say anything. Then his father, "Think of it. We can spend more time together, and with our pups too. You can be my alpha female!" Eagle looked over to see his mother smiling slightly. This earned him a chew on the face from his sister. He yelped and started to play with her again. "I-I think...yes." said his mother. His father let out a cry of joy and embraced his mother. [End of Flashback] Eagle smiled, remembering his father's happy expression. He would have wished for anything to have his parents back now. He had become the alpha last year, when his father passed. Eagle had isolated himself for days, having the burden of losing his sister, then his parents. The pack that he now led had thought he was never emerging again from the cave. After days of sobbing, groaning, and mourning in a private place which he found, Eagle learned that this would not help. So he had come out, ready to lead the pack. Standing up, he walked over up a cliff and looked down at his territory. Eagle smiled and howled, a long howl that echoed across the land. It was of good luck, fortune, happiness, mourning, and strength.

Niko lied on the lush grass of where the dog pack had stopped for a moment she believed, letting her dark-ish brown hues scan her surroundings taking in the scene. She sighed, she had already wanted to be at the center of the dog pack to rid of them but of course distance and logic got in her way. She sat up lifting her back haunches to stand, she had decided to take a stroll around there temporary territory. Her mind shifted through thoughts and memory's as she stalked under the large trees and brush, the thing her mind stuck on was a captivating dog from her pack that she often thought of though she didn't want to admit it. The sun was shining down hardly on her brown and white pelt making her very warm, she lifted her cranium letting her hues stare at the sky. She found herself not paying attention to her surroundings, a good sized branch was under he vision at the time while she headed towards it. She yelped as she collided with the branch throwing her into a furry thing, " Agh!" Her throat released the sound as she caught her breath. She shook her head blinking her hues a couple times she realized she had accidentally fell right into Night Hawk. She backed up secretly embarrassed. She wasn't quite sure what she what she should say, so she stood there shaking her head as if it still felt odd after her tumble.

Night Hawk shook his head as something furry ran into him. Looking around, he saw Niko was the one who had ran into him. Setting down his prey, he said, "Hi Nikko. Are you okay?" Cocking his head, he realized there was a broken branch behind her where she must have stumbled. Considering she hadn't said anything after bumping into him, he asked, "You want to help me take these rabbit back to the pack? This forest if full of prey that's just waiting for us to hunt." He said this brightly, looking her over.

Dallas was moving quickly through the woods, knowing he would soon reach the main camp. He had already crossed the stream the marked the border juveniles and pups couldn't cross, and had slowed his pace a little. But when he heard someone speak, he slowed more, then stopped, turning towards the voice. The beta female, Delta, was sitting on a nearby tree stump, and he realized she had asked what was wrong. It probably did look odd to see him racing through the forest towards the camp. He caught his breath as he walked over. "I saw the dog pack, they will be here in a day or two. I must tell the rest of the pack." Dallas said, then dipped his head respectfully. He took another moment to get more air, then he turned away again. Walking off, he arrived at the camp a minute later. Trotting over to the alphas den, he waited for her to either come over or out. Or for someone else to come over so he could spread the word.

Tempest | 3 | Alpha Female | Wolf Pack | M: Everyone (ind.) Tempest let out a huge yawn as she awoke from her sleep, shaking out her fluffy white fur, which was stained brown with mud, dirt, and dust. The huge white wolf was not in great mood, as usual, and wanted to get into a fight, or go back to sleep. Tempest thought of the warning that the half-dead dog that'd stumbled into the Wolf Pack's camp had given her. The threat that loomed over the fierce alpha and her pack didn't faze Tempest in the slightest bit, as she was confident that she could take down the Dog Pack. "Stupid mutts," Tempest growled as she walked out of her den, the warm rays of sunlight hitting her and feeling good on her fur. Tempest let out another gaping yawn, and sat down, watching over her pack. Most wolves were still asleep, but Tempest could see that some were awake and ready to start their day. One wolf tossed a deer into the food stash, and others were going out to hunt, or just staying in camp and resting. Edited at January 19, 2021 08:33 PM by Icy Eclipse
