Plot Two tribes of wild dogs have lived side by side for generations. This all changed, however, when a young apprentice of the Ash shaman wound up dead inside the borders of the Oak tribe. Now, all dogs are on high alert and tensions are boiling over. Each is plotting their next move, and all the while nobody knows for sure how the juvenile died in the first place. Rumors and accusations are flying, and the two groups are on the brink of war. --- Links RP: Here Discussion: Here Edited at February 25, 2022 04:51 PM by Rising Shadows

RP Rules I have the right to deny applications. Three strikes and you're out. Follow all WolfPlay guidelines and rules for RPing and gameplay in general. All images, if any are used, must be properly credited and able to be used in the first place. If I notice that they are not, the form will not be accepted until this is fixed. Show your literacy in your application. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are highly encouraged. Forms must be filled out completely; if it's a little out of order, I won't care, but if things are missing then it won't be accepted. RP responses should be at least 180 words, preferably 200. Three strikes and you're out. Reservations last 48 hours for limited ranks; any high rank must submit a writing example done by themselves before reserving the spot. I will not send personal warnings as reservations become due. If you will need more time, PM me. These dogs are a variety of shapes and sizes, but none will be purebred. Hybrid breeds are allowed but they must be recognized breeds, not half-wolf. For appearance, include any dog breeds (unless theyre so mutt that there's no telling) and size. Not every dog can be super big. Appearance and personality should be in complete sentences and at least 100 words each. Be active, and have fun. Edited at February 9, 2022 05:05 PM by Rising Shadows

About the Tribes Each tribe has the same beliefs, as far as "religion" is concerned. They believe that, after a dog dies, their spirit joins their ancestors in the sky -- not as stars, but as part of the northern lights. Stars, rather than being the souls of the deceased, are those of dogs who have yet to walk the earth. When all the stars go out, the end of the world will occur. These dogs follow a strict set of morals, or Laws. They are: Kill only when necessary, whether it be dog or prey. Do not attack a dog that is already downed. Spare pups, juveniles, elders, and mothers. It is dishonorable to lie and steal. Every half moon, there is a truce that must not be broken. Shamans are to be respected in both packs and may travel freely between them. Breaking these Laws may result in punishment, exile, or death, depending on the severity of the crime. The Laws may not be added to or taken away; in the tribes' eyes, they are eternal. Patrols are currently carried out three or four times daily and hunts occur once or twice. Under normal circumstances, patrols are more lenient. Leaders are expected to participate in hunts, patrols, and battles. Pups are revered and are the most cherished and well-protected members of the pack. They are named after things occurring in nature, usually, and, once they reach one year of age, they receive the name ritual. In this ceremony, the young dog chooses a new name by which they will be remembered by for the rest of their lives. Shamans are the healers. They commune with the living and the dead, and they have no real side. They exist to serve their tribe members and keep the connection between the mortal dogs and their ancestors and descendents. Shamans are usually smaller dogs. While intimate relations with opposite tribe members are discouraged, they are not against the Laws and can happen, though the dogs involved are forbidden from participating in battles. They may be socially frowned upon, and they are very rare. Mothers stay in the camp with their pups until weaning, at which point they begin to ease back into tribal duties. The weaned pups begin training in the camp -- play fighting, practicing hunting skills, tracking -- and at six months begin to join patrols and smaller hunts.
There is no "omega" but the weakest dog has the unofficial position of being the lowest on the totem pole.
Mates of shamans, alphas, and lieutenants do not gain a higher rank, necessarily, but they do move up the social hierarchy and tend to have more say in things than other regular members. While shamans do occasionally take a mate and have pups, it is not too common, since their duties are primarily to uphold the physical and spiritual well-being of both tribes. A mate or pup dead at the paws of the opposite tribe may very well hinder those duties. --- Tribe Rules (Same for Both) The Shaman is not to be disrespected. Follow the Laws. Pups under six months of age are not to leave the denning grounds unless accompanied by one fully-trained adult. The alpha has the final say in matters brought to them. Challenges for ranks may only be issued and dueled out under a new moon. As of right now, there is to be no contact with the opposite tribe. Mothers and elders eat first with the pups, then the Shaman, alpha, lieutenant, and warriors. No outside dogs are tolerated. Edited at February 9, 2022 10:15 AM by Rising Shadows

Name: Chinook Gender: Male Age: 5 Years Rank: Alpha Tribe: Ash Credits to Wincey (1st) and Tiefenschaerfe (2nd) on DA. Same user, same wolf. Chinook is a very handsome male. Quite the mutt, but obviously carrying the blood of many a large dog breed, he stands at 34 inches and is in the middle of the weight spectrum for his height. His body is well-toned and his strength is evident in the way he moves. However, his appearance is deceptively kind. Intelligent, reddish-brown eyes are set in a well-proportioned face rimmed by soft, thick fur. His dense coat seems to groom itself, always looking sleek and touchable. This male is the opposite of touchable. Underneath his pelt, his skin is riddled with scars, both from hunts and from fights. Most of the latter were his victories. The vast majority. His most notable scar is a once-deep gash across his chest and lower throat, given to him by a dog he loathed -- and killed. Chinook refuses to speak about this creature, and few know the story. Chinook's coloring is warmer scale. His base is a terracotta of sorts with honey highlights and cream undertones. Patches of deeper brown and black congregate to frame his eyes, cover his forehead, sweep across his back and tail, and form a triangle at the nape of his neck. His undersides are a darker cream in color with hints of orange to it. The larger spots of fur around his temples and above his eyebrows turn into a black M shape, which extends along his neck and to his shoulders before more color enters the scene again. The bridge of his nose is a golden brown, as are the sides of his cheeks, and this melts into an off-white muzzle and cheekbones. Chinook always has a sort of passive look to him. Calm, relaxed, but ready. His languid movements can tense up at any time, his smooth tone can turn to jagged ice, his relaxed figure can stand tall and sturdy and domineering. This brute is death personified, and oh boy does death look hot. Personality: Chinook is not one to take ranking lightly. He respects all dogs until they are proven unworthy of it, takes worries and suggestions into consideration, and observes those at his own level with constant, ever-watching eyes. He is loyal to his family, his tribe. Those who prove traitorous get no respect from him. He is a quiet kind of scary; a soft whisper will freeze blood, a bark will break bones, a growled word will instill fear. A look could kill. Chinook holds respect in high regard; if a dog does not have his or another's, he looks down on them. He is not a kind creature; his drive is survival, and Mother Nature is not kind. The weak will die off, and he will be more than happy to help them along. Now, he is not an evil animal. He is altruistic towards his tribemates, and he does not play around with things he should not be involved in. He follows the rules, crosses all his "t"s, dots his "i"s. Actually, he can be quite a charismatic individual. However, this is only in the case of others in his immediate close circle -- his pack. Chinook is a fighter; he has the scars to prove it, and he does not intend to succumb to another animal any time soon. He is fueled by adrenaline. It keeps him alert, keeps him on target. He is not one to get antsy by the feeling; rather, it has an eerily calming effect on him that seems to only enhance his prowess. Strengths +He is a fair creature. Strict, and somewhat lacking in mercy, but fair. +Chinook cares very much about the pack members, especially juveniles, pups, mothers, and elders. +He's extremely smart and a great battler. Weaknesses -He is not an openminded wolf. A newcomer wants to join? He will put them through Hell first. A differring opinion is stated brashly? Forget about it. -He isn't charismatic. He says it like it is and doesn't care how it affects others' feelings. -Chinook has no sense of humor. Actually, he doesn't really pick up much on subtleties at all. Affiliations: Open, PM me. Name: Raven Age: 2.5 Gender: Female Rank: Warrior Tribe: Oak Credits to Livinja-Stock for both images Appearance: Raven stands at 27 inches and weighs about 70 pounds. She is a lighter dog, yes, but her strength should not be underestimated. Most closely resembling the malinois, Raven is an animal with the genes for a fighter, sporting a strong jaw, muscular composition, and a lean, lithe build. Her coat is short and fairly soft. It is a lovely mix of black and white ticking an ombre into a golden, deep tan base color. Darker fur congregates around her eyes, muzzle, ears, and the outsides of her legs. Her eyes are a deep, burning orange to match the warm hues of her fur. Long, dark claws protrude from sure paws. Her muscling is visible throughout her body, and each step ripples with pent up power. Raven's movements are those of a hunting dog, to say the least. Quiet, precise movements carry her regally to wherever she desires. Her voice is low for a female, but it has a soft lull to it that makes her easy to listen to. Her overall appearance is of a strong, fairly reserved, polite female. Personality: Her appearance lied. She is a driven animal. Her ambition does not rise to the level of insubordination, but it is a future goal of hers to be in a position of power. Her prowess is waiting for the right moment to strike, bringing down whatever prey she has with no hesitation. Whether she attacks with words or teeth, the result is usually the same. However, this only occurs when she wants it to. It really depends on her mood. She is naturally a forward dog; she doesn't take crap and she doesn't give it in turn. Her words are sharp but honest, and she will only lace them with venom when she feels she has few other options that would bring an outcome she wants. She prefers physical to verbal attacks, but, obviously, this cannot always occur so blatantly. Battles are a favorite of hers. She relishes the energy rush, the feel of victory. She does not, however, become loose in her morals during a fight. Raven may be a warrior, but she prides herself in following the rules and sparing life where it can be. She is not a bloodlusting animal, and she does not purposefully instigate violence. With her tribemates, she is a fairly caring individual, though her feelings are not often displayed as affectionate. She would, however, lay down her life for any of them.
