Yes, but both parents have to have exclusive pelts I believe, or at least 1 of the parents do. It's very similar to crystalline, and very difficult/expensive

I can't remember for sure but I think it's possible when both parents have the same exclusive pelt. It's just extremely rare.

OVERVIEW
🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━━━━PLOT━━━━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇
As long as the rabbits could remember, the snow fell.

Of course, some seasons were worse than others. Tufts of grass could be had here or there, the chill of the pale green strands infinitesimally unimportant compared to the rabbits' happiness to simply eat. Predators killed a rabbit or two here or there, never enough to drive them from their snug warren. All in all, they were secure in their homes, eating grass and telling stories. Nothing could harm the warren, it seemed then.
Not until they arrived.
Odd creatures standing upright, clad in the bodies of the deer they had slain, faces sunken in the throes of desperate hunger, able to trick rabbits into cleverly set traps. So many were killed by these invaders that the warren chief - Warchief, to use their own word, led a desperate band of escapees across the tundra to find a new home.
And they have found it.
After a week of travel, the travellers have reached a suitable home (elaborated on below). Amazingly, the Warchief is still alive, as are about three-quarters of his followers (notable NPC deaths during the migration will be given under Character Memorial). Now, it is up to him to organise the founding of the new warren. Roles have just been given. The rabbits are inexperienced, having been born long after the founding of the old warren.
In a world stalked by dire wolves and smilodons, can the rabbits survive even a single year in their new home?
🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━━━━SETTING━━━━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇━━🐇
The climate of what will one day become Grand Rapids, Michigan, is at this point a taiga. The temperature rarely ventures above freezing, and then only in the summer. Pine and larch trees stretch overhead, their shadows ominous to the rabbits. Moss is more common than groundcover such as grass and ferns, except around clearings such as the one the rabbits have settled in. Snow and rain are frequent.
Warren
The warren is in a valley, surrounded by steep hills. The immediate surroundings are flat, with the closest hills being a day's journey to the east. To the west is the river, which often floods in spring (though the rabbits don't know this yet) about an hour's run from the warren. The main groundcover is a mixture of grass and moss.
As of yet, the warren has not been excavated. Rabbits have to sleep in the open, which is extremely dangerous.

RP Rules
🐇━━ Follow ALL WP rules. This includes keeping everything PG-13. If your characters have kits, they will wake up with the kits next to them. No more detail is needed.
🐇━━ MxF only.
🐇━━ This RP is designed to have high character turnover. Meaning, your character will die. Another roleplayer cannot kill yours without permission, but I, as the Game Master, might. I have rules for myself for this and tables for how this will occur. Please don't flame when this happens; you can always make another character.
🐇━━ No Mary/Gary Sues. I reserve the right to ask you to fix your form, or deny it entirely.
🐇━━ Characters inactive for over a week with no explanation will be killed.
🐇━━ Rabbits must be realistic. Keep in mind that this takes place before humans have domesticated rabbits, so patterning will be more mild. This will be elaborated on in Post Six. Similarly, names must be something that could logically have been chosen during the Ice Age. Interpret that as you will.
🐇━━ The current amount of characters each person can have is three. Subject to change. You cannot play your own mate, but you can play your own kit.
🐇━━ Minimum post size is five sentences with five words or more. No maximum post size, add as much description as you'd like. Do not consistently post at the minimum.
🐇━━ Spelling/grammar mistakes must be kept to a minimum.
🐇━━ If there are fights between two rabbits, you will not be able to dodge every hit, or score every hit. Fights with predators will be stacked against you. I would suggest you run.
🐇━━ Respect your fellow roleplayers.
🐇━━ Feel free to ask me anything about the roleplay! I enjoy hearing others' ideas.

☆ A hauler who keeps food will be punished.
☆ Leading predators to the warren is cause for punishment.

Character List
🐇━━━━━WARREN RABBITS━━━━━🐇

* Warchief*
The Warren Chief (or Warchief for short) is the highest authourity in the warren. When danger strikes, the Warchief has the responsibility of keeping the warren safe. Naturally, founding the new warren has fallen onto the Warchief.
Frost | M | Talen (2783407) | Large, no defect

*Rivals*
Rivals are the next-in-line to be Warchief. Upon the death of the Warchief, the Rivals are brought before the other high ranks (anyone above Patroller). The two then either fight or debate, determined in advance by the Warchief, with the winner becoming the new Warchief. Rivals are chosen by the same gathering after the new Warchief is chosen. Rivals can be any rank except for Denizen. If a Rival steps down, the same council reconvenes to choose a new one.
Aspen | Patrol Leader
Name | Role

*Patrol Leader*
The Patrol Leader is the brave rabbit who leads teams to venture far outside of the warren to bring back news of predators or food. This is the most dangerous profession in the warren. For this reason, it is highly unlikely a rabbit with a defect will be chosen. This rank is chosen by the Warchief.
Aspen | F | Dawnforest (2797643) | Small, scarred eye (L)

*Raid Leader*
The Raid Leader is the rabbit who specialises in gathering roots. When the Patrol Leader comes back with news of gatherable roots, the Raid Leader and a couple of handpicked Warclaws accompany the Haulers to gather them. The Raid Leader must be alert and attentive to danger during this time, especially on the return trip. This rank is chosen by the Warchief.
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect

*Peacekeeper*
The Peacekeeper is a rabbit determined to keep tensions in the warren low by any means necessary. If overcrowding is an issue, it is likely the Peacekeeper will be the first to notice. This rabbit is usually highly extroverted and a personal friend of the Warchief, who is incedentally the rabbit who assigns this role.
RESERVED | Gender | Lokaste_RP (2796983) | Size, defect

Patrollers
Patrollers follow the direction of the Patrol Leader. They should be fast, inconspicuous rabbits with good heads on their shoulders. These rabbits are highly respected by the warren, and their role is highly dangerous.
Hop | M | Weeds (2797696) | Medium, no defect
Bog | M | Weeds (2797696) | Medium, no defect

Warclaws

Warclaws are the police of the warren. They enforce the Warchief's rule, potentially with their claws - hence their name, Claws of the Warren. Notably, warren rabbits are not allowed to fight back against a Warclaw, but a Warclaw who abuses this privelege may be reported to the Peacekeeper or Warchief. They report directly to the Warchief. When membership drops below acceptable levels (five rabbits), it falls to the remaining Warclaws to vote on which Denizens to promote to Warclaw.
Leaper | M | Talen (2783407) | Medium, Chim
Ash | M | TheHappyHowlers (2812619) | Large, no defect
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect

Excavators
Excavators are the rabbits responsible for digging (or overseeing the digging of) the burrows and tunnels of the warren. They are always does.
Oat | F | Weeds (2797696) | Large, Leuc
Flurry | F | River-Luna (2797921) | Medium, Viti
Name | F | Player (#) | Size, defect

Haulers
Haulers report direcly to the Raid Leader, who chooses them. When the Patrol Leader discovers roots, the Haulers, Raid Leader, and a couple of Warclaws leave to bring them back to the warren. The Haulers are responsible for carrying as many roots as possible back to the warren.
Moon | F | River-Luna (2797921) | Medium, no defect
Berry | F | TheHappyHowlers (2812619) | Medium, Chim

Denizens
Denizens are the average rabbits of the warren. Sometimes rabbits are chosen to rank up, sometimes they migrate, sometimes they live out their entire lives as denizens. They are generally looked down upon by other ranks.
Scruff | M | Duskfall (2797628) | Small, no defect
Ivy | F | Wolffe (2832688) | Medium, no defect
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect
There can be any number of Denizens. More slots will be added as needed.

Yearlings
These are the rabbit equivalent of teenagers, spanning the time between 6 months to 1 year old. They cannot have mates, but may have crushes. The mother of the yearlings is responsible for teaching them and caring for them. Promising yearlings may, at maturity, be given a higher rank than Denizen. Yearlings stay yearlings for one RL month.
RESERVED | Gender | Lokaste_RP (2796983) | Size, defect | Born 0/0/00 | Parents:
Splash | F | Duskfall (2797628) | Large, Ery | Born 7/7/22 | Parents: Misty (RIP), Frost
Thistle | F | TheHappyHowlers (2812619) | Medium, nose defect | Born 9/26/22 | Parents: Lemon (RIP), Oxford (RIP)
Name | Gender | RPer (#) | Size, defect | Born 0/0/00 | Parents:
There can be any number of yearlings. More slots will be added as needed.

Kits
Kits are the youngest members of the warren. They are usually taken care of by their mother, as they are incable of moving far on their own and need to stay near her for warmth and food. At the founding of the warren, there are no kits, as they cannot reasonably be expected to have survived the journey. Kits remain kits for one IRL week.
NOT CURRENTLY OPEN.
There can be any number of kits. More slots will be added as needed.

🐇━━━━━
LONE RABBITS━━━━━🐇
These rabbits are not part of the warren. They eke out a life on their own, sleeping where they can, eating when they can.
Blizzard | M | Wolf Pride (2822874) | Large, vitiligo
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect
Name | Gender | Player (#) | Size, defect

ANIMALS
🐇━━━━━━━━━━━Rabbits━━━━━━━━━━━🐇
Free-Rabbit-Lines.pngLineart kindly donated by the talented Weeds (#2797696). Link here.
Rabbits are the only playable species. Male rabbits are called bucks, and females are called does. The species is Sylvilagus obscurus, the Appalachian Cottontail (though it is possible for lone rabbits to be Eastern Cottontails). Female rabbits are larger than males in general, with 16 inches being the length of an average female rabbit. There can be larger (18 inches) or small (10 inches) in these amounts:
Small (3/4 taken)
Medium (unlimited)
Larger (4/4 taken)
Rabbits are often brown or tawny, but some are red or cream. Some have black or white patches. Most rabbits have a black patch on the head between the ears.
Pelt defects are possible. Note that rabbits with a pelt defect may be judged for it by their fellows, and depending on the visibility of the defect may be more easily spotted by predators. Available defects are as follows:
Vitiligo (2/2 taken; shows up around 1.5 years old)
Melanism (0/2 taken)
Chimera (1/2 taken)
Leucism (1/2 taken)
Erythrysm (1/2 taken)
Rabbits live for around 3-5 years, if they survive that long. Gestation is around 30 days, and does create a nest lined with fur torn from their bellies. There are around three kits per litter.
Rabbits are crepuscular, most active at dawn and dusk. This is when they feed. Sleep is usually at night, and during the day they gather in a safe area and socialise.

━━━━━━━━━━━Other Small Animals━━━━━━━━━━━
Squirrels
Arboreal rodents that eat nuts, and are therefore no threat to rabbits' lives or food. Discounting the tail, they are smaller than rabbits.
Warning Signs: Chattering, but it's not really a 'warning'.
Songbirds
Small, but loud, avians. Generally no threat to rabbits, unless a curious yearling gets too close to fledglings.
Warning Signs: Singing, but it's not really a 'warning'.

ᵔ━━━━━━━━━━━Large Herbivores━━━━━━━━━━━ᵔ
Deer
A category including white-tailed deer, elk, and caribou (also known as reindeer). They are shy animals, more annoying to rabbits for the grass a herd can eat than anything else.
Warning Signs: Bleating, clicking of hooves.
Moose
Moose are large, aggressive animals. If startled, they will attack.
Warning Signs: Heavy, deliberate steps of hooves.
Giant Sloth
A massive, ground-dwelling mammal with large front claws. Though it eats leaves (and therefore does not compete with rabbits), it can accidentally crush rabbits by dropping onto all fours.
Warning Signs: Chewing and tearing of branches.

﹗━━━━━━━━━━━Predators━━━━━━━━━━━﹗
Raptors
A broad category including hawks, falcons, and eagles. They usually go after young rabbits, but larger species will attack fully-grown rabbits.
Warning Signs: Flapping of wings.
Bears
A broad category including black, grizzly, and the giant short-faced bear. Bears do not normally eat rabbits, but a starving bear will.
Warning Signs: Smell.
Bobcats
A feline about the size of four rabbits nose-to-tail. They are the primary predator of the rabbits, and hunt by ambush.
Warning Signs: A strong sense of dread.
Saber-Toothed Cats
Like bears, these large cats do not normally prey on rabbits, but kittens or starving sabers will.
Warning Signs: Kitten meowing (kittens) or a growl (adults).
Canines
This group includes coyotes, wolves, and dire wolves, all of which will happily prey on rabbits. Packs are carefully watched by the patrols, and it is considered a very dangerous situation if one ventures too close to the warren.
Warning Signs: Panting, warnings from the patrol.
Skinned Ones
These odd creatures are what drove the rabbits from their original home. They do not kill a rabbit here or there, but seem to never be satisfied. The methods they hunt with are unfathomable and alien.
Warning Signs: Odd sounds like the calls of birds, but deeper.

Art by Weeds (#2797696)

Name

Frost
Gender
Buck
Age At Start
3.1 Years Old
Role
Warchief
Personal History
There was never a time when Frost did not have grand ambitions. As a kitten and yearling, he was always the ringleader of his litter, trying to prove himself to the older rabbits. Whether this was successful, or his promotion was merely due to his size, at his first birthday Frost was promoted to Warclaw. The young rabbit took his role very seriously, using the opportunity to ingratiate himself with his father, the old Warchief. When one of the Rivals, a promising Patrol Leader named Gar, was killed by a coyote, the two-and-a-half-year-old Frost was promoted to Rival. This was something Frost cherished, though the idea of losing his father made him very anxious. One way or another, though, this ended shortly after his third birthday, when the Warchief succumbed to illness.
Not long after that, the Skinned Ones attacked, and now it is up to a woefully inexperienced Frost to guide the remainder of his warren.

Aspirations/Attitude Towards Role
Frost is proud of his role as Warchief, and anxious to make sure the warren survives.
Personality
Frost is what one might call "lacking in the rabbit sense of mischief". The Warchief is blunt and honest, eschewing small talk and always saying what he means; opinions vary on whether this is a virtue or a vice. That being said, when Frost disapproves of someone, he will deliberately try to wound the rabbit with his words; words, and not violence, are his weapon of choice. Frost has high standards, and those who fall short of them will likely end up on the recieving end of his wrath. A sign that Frost is getting annoyed is that he has a tendency to scuffle his forepaws. To those who he deems worthy, Frost is cooperative, wanting to help and viewing himself as something of a guide to the younger members of the warren. Though Frost is reluctant to ask for advice, he is happy to listen to what he hears from those he trusts, and will workshop ideas. Family is important to Frost, and it's clear that his line's death (for he has lost both father and son) bothers him immensely, causing him to be very protective of those he has left. Frost is a shy rabbit who wants to bond with others, but finds it difficult.
Appearance
Frost is a large and stocky rabbit. Most of his fur is a deep cream colour, though he has a white patch around his right eye and the typical black patch all Appalachian rabbits possess. The tips of his ears are also white. Due to his light fur, Frost's claws are relatively light as well. For a rabbit, Frost's eyes are relatively light; they are a deep hazel. Frost's fur is plainly patterned, with no spotting, and relatively thin, meaning he is more comfortable during warmer seasons. The buck's nose is relatively narrow, and his ears are slightly longer than average. Frost's nose is pink.
Relations
Misty (NPC) - Mate - Deceased
Ice (NPC) - Son - Deceased
Splash (Duskfall) - Daughter - Yearling

Likes and Dislikes
+ Family, roots, trustworthy rabbits, calm rabbits
- Violence, predators, cocky rabbits, cold weather

Strengths and Weaknesses

- Inexperience, agility, introversion, paranoia

[Top: yearling, Bottom: large adult]
Name: Splash

Gender: Female

Age At Start: 7 months

Role: Yearling

Personal History
(Nope)
Aspirations/Attitude Towards Role
(Has none yet...)
Personality
Splash is somewhat of a silly rabbit which can cause her to get in trouble at times, but it can't be too bad since her father is the warchief. Splash can be self-douting at times because other rabbits tend to mock her because of her fur defect which takes over the natural Appalachian rabbit colors she should have had. The doe tries to ignore this for the better of Warren and so her father does not need to worry about her too much. She does not want to cause trouble in the warren so Splash tries to stay orderly and listen to what she is told. The death of her mother and brother on the migrant over to the new Warren site has made her a bit sad, at least she has her father still.
Appearance
Splash is a relatively large female at her young age. Since she has her defect erythrism most of her fur is a dark brown color, she somehow managed to keep her black splotch between her ears that all her Warren mates have. Splash has a light copper color on her paws and legs except for the back left one. Her eyes are brown, her nose is pink, and the inside of her ears is a lighter brown than what's on her fur. Splash's tail has a cute little splotch of copper in the middle of her tail.
