SoliderxSolider

Plot
Ruina Agarvran is the lieutenant colonel of the Light Dragoons. She has led the battalion for five long years after she worked through the ranks during the nine years she has served. She's commanded great respect by her soliders as well as others of the British military.

Jackson Spears is a Sergeant of Ruina's Light Dragoons. He too has put in his years and has earned respect from his fellow soliders as well.

Ruina and Jackson are both part of the division that consists of at least three battalions led by Major General Banks. The division is heading through the snowy mountains of Germany known as the Harz Mountains. The dangerous trek can take up to two weeks, however the divison must make the trip in less than ten days.

For if Major General Banks cannot get his division across, the divsion on the other side led by Major General Campbell will fall beneath the attacks of the Russian army they face. In the face of this threat, the division moves as quickly as they dare.

Until everything goes wrong.

Three days into their trek, a massive blizzard blows through the mountains and the division takes a hard hit. Much of their supplies are destroyed. Many disappear in the snow, and many horses get injured.

Ruina and Jackson are separated from the division.

When the blizzard finally ends, the two are lost among the mountains with no idea which direction is right and none of their division is near. The two now must survive the snowy mountains and make it out alive.

Can they make it across the mountains? Alive?

"If you're going to stand, stand like a giant."

Appearance
Ruina stands at a good 5'8. She is lean and muscular. However it is clear that she is still a female, and her muscle is well defined only at certain times. Her muscles are well defined when her skin is bare. However when she has clothes on, the only muscle that is clear would be those of her arms. She is somewhat tan from spending her days outside and is no longer the milky white she as born as. Her face is rounded at the cheeks, however her jaw is somewhat sharp. Her cheeks are not that defined, however her face does not give off a baby-ish appearance at all.

Her hair is a platinum blonde that is long and wavy. Most of the time she puts it up in a military bun. Yet, sometimes she will leave it down and on special occasions she will style it and make it look pretty. Her eyes are a striking grey that can steely when pissed off. Having lived the life of a solider, her body is covered in scars. She does not flaunt them, however she does not exactly hide them either. She does not have too big of scars anywhere as most of them are small and hard to see.

Despite Ruina's more manly appearance, it is not hard to tell that she is a female. Though she has that broadness and muscle of a man, she also has the lean, petite, and grace of a female. Her face is mainly smooth, however at certain times, lines will appear on her face and she will seem much older than she is. Already her aura gives off one of a determined and confident person. Her teeth are nearly perfectly straight, and are a pearly white. Despite her more broad build, she is surprisingly quick on her feet.

"Everyone wants to be a beast... Until it's time to do what beasts do."

Personality
Ruina is not one to play damsel in distress. She is a warrior leader through and through. Fierce and brave she will do just about anything and everything for those she loves and those she considers friends. She is also incredibly intelligent and can be just that hint of cunning. She does not think herself above anyone. Ruina is one to speak her mind. She doesn't often hold back whenever people ask her things. She often likes to say,"If you don't want to know the truth. Don't ask me."She does her best to lead her battalion and keep them safe despite the dangers they face in wars and skirmishes.

Ruina can be quick with her words which can often get her in trouble. She has been in plenty of skirmishes and wars. She protects her battalion and does her very best to keep peace among them. She is not one to demand the full effort from her soldiers without putting forward her own full effort. She is a fair and kind leader. She trains alongside them and pushes herself just as hard as she pushes them. They have come to respect and love her as their battalion leader.

This solider is incredibly stubborn as well, if she sets her mind to something it is almost impossible to get her to change her mind. She can be incredibly harsh and sometimes will say things that she does not mean. Ruina, like most, has a mean side. She does not like it, and does her best to keep it away because when she gets mean she gets mean. She will throw just about any insult at you and many do their best to not cross her. She enjoys nature, and tries to enjoy and relax in it when she can. She loves hanging out with her people, who she considers family.

"Family don't end in blood."

Affiliations
Ashera Agarvran
Mother. Alive. Ashera is of Scottish descent. Her relationship with Ruina is good. They have their squabbles, however, get over it quickly. They have their mother-daughter bond and would do anything for each other.
Aelrindel Agarvran
Father. Alive. Aelrindel is of British descent and his family is one of the oldest families in Great Britain. His relationship with Ruina is good. He respects and admires his daughter for her military work as he once served in the military himself and never did achieve a rank as high as Ruina. While Ruina adores her father, considering him her role model. The reason she joined the military.
Revalor Agarvran
Eldest brother. Alive. Older twin to Ayduin. Revalor and Ruina are close. They respect each other very much. Like his sister, Revalor joined the military. However, he joined the Royal Guard and serves in the palace protecting the royal family.
Ayduin Agarvran
Elder brother. Alive. Younger twin to Revalor. Ruina and Ayduin get along great. Both enjoy the same kind of things and both have the same quick tongue so they often mess around with each other and see who can spin the worst insult. Like his siblings and father, he joined the military. He chose to join the Royal Navy.
Tarron Norneiros
Cousin. Alive. When Tarron's mother died, Tarron moved in with Ruina and her family. The two became very close over the years. Like his cousin, Tarron joined the military and is currently assigned to the same battalion that Ruina leads.
Thaola Qinnala
Best friend. Alive. There is no one else that Ruina is closer to. Thaola and Ruina share everything, all their secrets, anything and everything. They know everything about each other and are practically attached by the hip (well, when Ruina isn't off fighting wars). They are typically together. While Thaola may not be as quick-witted and smart as Ruina, there is no doubt that their personalities link up decently well.
Riden Sparrow
Close friend/Mentor. Alive. Ruina and Riden have a sort of father-daughter bond, and are incredibly close. When Ruina first joined the military, she was scoffed at and mocked. Riden was the only one who ever encouraged her and soon took Ruina under his wing. Much of Ruina's training comes from Riden and for that, Ruina is forever grateful. Like Tarron, Riden was assigned to the battalion that Ruina leads.

"The fears we don't face become our limits."

Light Dragoons
(Underneath Reina's Command, but has 25 soldiers in his commanding unit)

Appearance:
Jackson stands at 6'1, and weighs 198 pounds. He is very muscular, not like a body builder, but pretty muscular. His muscles show when he wears thighter clothing, but are easily visible when wearing his combat uniform. He has brownish-blond hair, although it typically looks more dark brown. He is always cleanly shaven, as he learned from his father (see afflictions). His hair is normally in a buzz cut, with slightly longer hair on top. Which is the typical military haircut. He has lighting blue eyes, although most the time they are a dark blue.
When not in his military uniform he usually has on a camo type shirt, although you can see him in a darker colored shirt.
As Jackson is a woodworker, which he picked up at 15, his hands are normally callused and scarred. His hands are rough, and normally covered in wood shavings, as it is what he has aleays been around.
Personality:
His personality is usually on the easy going/laid back type, but when commanding his unit, it is usually more serious and stern. He is a natural leader, and is willing to take a position of command if needed. He is stubborn, and will usually go out of his way to get what he, or what a close friend wants. As well as his stubbornness, he is also very outspoken, as he is willing to speak out for the good of all people.
One trait of his that can be taken both ways is his loyalty. He is loyal to the military and also to his family and friends. This can be taken both ways, as either a strength or weakness, as he is willing to die for his country and his close friends abd family. He is also portective and can be overprotective at times.
One thing that no one takes for granted is Jackson's bravery and courage. He is usually the first person to volunteer for any task, and us always willing to put his life on the line.
Afflictions:
Thomas J. Spears
Father l Deceased l Jackson's father, Thomas J. Spears, is Jackson's mentor. Jackson has always looked up to him for advice. When he died fighting for Britian when Jackson was 15, it left an empty place in his heart. His dad had always loved Britian, and had taken up woodworking as a hobby. Thomas taught Jackson everything he knew: Woodworking, fishing, hunting, and survival skills. Everything Jackson needed in life to become a "man". Thomas also showed and caused Jackson's love for Football, which Jackson played throughout High School (See Background). Inspired him to serve in honor of him.
Annabeth H. Spears
Mother l Alive l When Jackson's father died, his mother was so distraught, that she decided to leave everything behind, and moved to the United States. She encouraged Jackson to continue Football, and made sure Jackson studied up in school. What she didnt eant though, was for Jackson to enter the military, as it reminded her of Thomas. Jackson's connection to his mother is so strong, and even though he moved to Britian to serve, she still loved him, and supported him.
Thomas J. Spears Jr.
Elder Brother l Deceased l Thomas J. Spears Jr. died when Jackson was twelve. His brother, 16 at the time, had gotten involved in a car crash, which was so horrific that it killed his brother. Jackson was deveasted, as he had always looked up to his brother as a role model.
Veronica A. Spears
Younger Sister l Alive l Veronica, Jackson's sister, who is about two years younger, is Jackson's best friend, of course as much as a sister can be. When their brither and father died, they relied on each other to support each other, and their mom. It's his biggest connection, which grows stronger by the year.
Jason S. Sanders
Best friend and fellow comrade l Alive l Ever since Jackson enlisted, their has always been a friendly face. Jason, Jackson's friend since Middle school, who even through the years managed to stay in touch. He enlisted with Jackson, as he knew there was no way of talking him out of it. They had always been close, and their bond has grown as they fight in wars.

Background:
Jackson, from a young age, also influenced by his father, loved football. When he moved to the States, he became immersed in the sport. He played with his High School team. He was so good that he got multiple offers from college, and probably could have made it to the NFL, but he gave it all up to join the Military.
He was top of the class in both High School and Boot camp, acing most if not all of his tests. He is great with weapons (as he was taught to hunt by his father). He has been promoted to Sergeant through the years, and hopes to excel and get promoted higher.

Jackson's small cutting knife slid across the rough wood, breaking off small chips each time. Every once and awgile he would use his small block sander to shave clear and smooth edges, with round edges as well. His focus completely focused on his project, his best friend quietly came in the room. Jason was already dressed in his military issued uniform, the camo making him almost blend into the wall. A smooth hand fell on his shoulder. "How's the project going?" His friend said, staring at the block of wood in Jackson's left hand. He didnt respond as he finished the finishing touches, the face's detail, and the bodies finishing touches. He smiled at his work as he flipped the sculpture over, and carved a simple JS, in yye bottom, in his unigue carving style. Jackson turned around abd smiled, handing his friend his gift, "The best friend I could ever have." He paused, looking over the sculpture one last time. "Here you go." He replied, handing Jason the sculpture. Jason held the statue in his hands and flipped and turned it hand in hand. His buddy had the proudest smile on his face. "Now, this is sick." Jason held the sculture to his face. The sculpture of Jason almost matched Jason completely. "Thank you so much bro." He replied, in his native British accent. Jackson ad somewhat lost his when he had to adjust to American life about 13 years ago. He couldnt believe it was that long. And Jason and Jackson had been friends for even longer.
Jackson's stomach started to rumble, which meant it was almost time to go down to the mess hall. Almost on cue the mess hall bell rung, signaling breakfast. "Lets head down to the mess hall, and we can stop by the racks on the way there." Jason nodded at his response, still admiring Jackson's hard work.
After they made their stop by the racks for Jason to drop off his gift, they made their way down to the mess hall. Jackson's eyes wandered to the Army's promo flyers on the walls, with the tough looking soldiers staring into the distance, warfare blazing behind them. For a second, Jackson almost saw his father in their place, what it would be to have him back. His eyes quickly looked away, nit wanting to stir up any bad memories. "Here we are." Jason said, as he pushed open the doors to the cafeteria. Soldiers lined the small tables, each having a conversation with someone arou d them, their voices ringing and making it hard to hear Jason's voice. The two Sergeants made their way towards the lines, where they each got their meal handed to them on a tray, once they left the line they sat at a nearby table. He bit into his meal, saviring the taste as he knew it would be his last before going on the dangerous mission befote them. As he thought that thought, the Commander, what was her name? Linteniant Colenel Agarvran came into the mess hall, most likely to tell them about the mission's details.

"Lieutenant Mischief."

The young woman fought a smile as she looked up,"Sarge?" Standing in front of her desk was Sergeant Riden Sparrow and Sergeant Tarron Norneiros. Riden and Tarron exchange a look and the young women leans forward. "What?" Tarron sighs as he answers his cousin,"Rui, it's the Northern front." Ruina Agarvran muses,"What about the Northern front? What news has come in?" Riden takes over,"Not any good news. Campbell needs us now. Banks has sent his summons." Riden hands the Lieutenant Colonel a letter. Ruina opens it, her lips thinning as she reads it.

Ruina folds the letter and stands up,"Where are the men?" Tarron responds,"In the mess hall, the bell just summoned them." Ruina nods, the Light Dragoons had been on their base for the last few months awaiting higher commands. Ruina had been keeping the 500-ish men under her command under constant training and alert. In case of an emergency, and now the emergency had arrived. "Go ahead, inform the men to settle down for an announcement. I've got to finish something here." Tarron and Riden salute,"Yes Lieutenant." Then the two leave, and Ruina turns her attention back to the paper on her desk.

It was a letter she was writing to her parents, keeping them updated on how she was doing. The letter had been done and Ruina had been about to sign it, but now she added more. Informing her parents that she and her battalion had been summoned to the front lines. She was unsure when they would return. Ruina sighs as she finishes the letter, scrawling her signature across the bottom. Ruina folds the letter and seals it, dropping it in the basket that was her outgoing mail. Even when Ruina and her men were gone, the staff left to take care of the base would gather her mail and send it to the post office to be mailed. So the lieutenant heads out of her office and to the mess hall where hopefully Tarron and Riden had gotten everyone's attention.

Tarron and Riden made their way to the mess hall where just over five hundred men and women were enjoying their breakfast. It wasn't overly rowdy, but it was definitely loud and the two make their way to the front. Where Ruina and her commanding officers usually sat. There was a bell nearby for if Ruina needed to gather the hall's attention quickly. Riden activates the bell and it echoes through the mess hall. It took a few seconds, but soon the mess hall was quiet and Riden had their attention. He steps forward, his eyes sweeping the crowd. "Good morning, I apologize for interrupting your breakfast however something urgent has come up."

Murmurs spread through the crowd for a moment and just as quickly they stop, refocusing their attention on Riden. "Lieutenant Colonel Agarvran will be here shortly to explain." Ruina's voice echoes through the hall as she enters,"I'm here now." She makes her way to Riden's side before she turns to face her soldiers. They had known for months that at any moment they could be summoned to the front line and that every meal here in the mess hall could be their last for a while, and now it was time. "Major General Banks has made his summons. Campbell and his division need help."

Ruina cut straight to the point, there was no use in delaying, they were to meet the rest of the division tomorrow at one of the major bases before they took off. "We leave this afternoon. At 15:00. We take the horses, our vehicles cannot handle the dangerous trail." The horses, narrower and nimbler than the bulkier army vehicles would make the trip easier and hopefully faster.

As the Lieutenant Colonel finished going over the mission plans, Jackson had lost his appetite. Sure, this was what he had been waiting and hoping for, but now, in the middle of winter? No. Butbhe wasnt going to let his fear show or get to him. He wiped his mouth with his clothed napkin and rose to his feet. "I'm going to get washed up, see you in the racks." He told Jason. Who replied back, "Im going to finish my meal, see you soon." Jackson gave him a brief nod before heading towards his bunk. He grabbed a piece of paper from under his pillow, and a pen from his pocket and sat on his bunk. Dear Mother, he began to write, the pens place ink soakimg into the white paper. We have just received orders from the Lieutenant Colonel to go assist the General. Which means I will be heading out. I dont know when I will see you again, or even hear from you, but I just want to let you know that I'll be okay, and you will have nothing to worry about. Say hello to Chase for me, and I love you Mom. Jackson J. Spears
Jackson folded up the piece of paper and slipped it into the small envelope on a desk nearby. He wrote his mother's address on it before going to the mail room. He slipped it through the small hole of outgoing mail and heard it drop into the large pile. Jackson then headed back to his bunk, where he grabbed a razor and went to a nearby mirror. He knew he wouldnt be able to shave for awhile, especially as they trekked through the mountains, he shaved off the slightly growing beard so that he was totally clean shaven, then started to pack his things. Just at that moment Jason walked in. "Had a good breakfast?" Jackson asked, folding an extra uniform jacket and gently placing it in his backpack. "Yeah." He replied, "You worried about the mission?" He asked, and Jackson could see the worry etched on his face. "Jason, everything's going to be fine. Have I ever been wrong before?" He finished with a smile, patting his friend on the back. Jason gave a nervous chuckle but didnt sound convinced. "Look, this is just like any other mission, we probably wont see any battle, and hey, I got your back. I'll be there for the whole way." Jason's worry seemed to melt away. "You know what, yoyr right." He said. They shook hands as Jason said, "Thanks buddy." The Jackson wnet back to packing. A canteen of fresh water, and hunting knife, extra food in case they got lost, crackers, potato chips etc. Some daily vitamins and minerals, an extra pair of clothes (shirt, pants) and finally his heavy duty army blanket. He finished packing by placing a rope, and some metal wires. Never could be too prepared. He looked down at his watch that read 10:30. Only a couple hours till he needed to suit up and head out.

Almost as soon as Ruina finished giving her orders, the mess hall became busy with action. Some returned to their meal, aware it would be their last good one for a while. However, many rose to their feet heading to their barracks to prepare. Tarron muses,"Do you need us to do anything?" Ruina shakes her head,"Not really, just stop by the stables and inform the stable hands to prepare the horses. We must be ready to leave quickly." Tarron and Riden nod, saluting Ruina before taking their own leave of the building. While Ruina stays for a moment, her eyes watching the mess hall as she remains in deep thought.

The horses would be prepared quickly, there were over six hundred stable hands at the base ready to help with the horses. The Light Dragoons base may be the largest base compared to some, but it was still a large base. Built to comfortably accommodate the five hundred soldiers, six hundred stable hands, and the three hundred or so staff that helped maintain the base. It was a busy base, but Ruina loved it. It had become her home away from home and Ruina had quickly grown fond of the always busy base.

Ruina shakes herself out of her thoughts, the mess hall was almost empty, and she needed to get ready herself. Although she didn't have a lot to pack, she had a lot of other things she had to do. Such as double check the staff were prepared to take care of the base while they were gone. See which stable hands and medics would be traveling with them. A few of the staff would go along as well, but most would stay at base. It would be dangerous and stupid to leave the base virtually undefended, even if the likelihood of an attack was unprobable. It was not something Ruina was willing to risk.

By the time Ruina finished packing her things, it was almost noon, three hours left. Hopefully that would be enough time to make sure everything was in order. She would also have to stop to see which of the cooks would be going, after all the soldiers would still have to eat along the way. The Lieutenant Colonel sighs to herself, this was one part she hated about her rank. There was always so much to do, and if she messed one thing up or forgot about it. It would be a disaster.

"Rui."

Ruina halts in her tracks, turning to see Tarron heading for her. "Yes?" Tarron falls into step beside Ruina as she continues on. "I've finished my packing, do you need help with anything." For a moment, Ruina was tempted to say no, that she could handle it herself. But, there was no shame in asking for help. "Yes, I've got to visit the cooks, staff, stable hands, and medics to see which ones are going with us. I've got to double check our security fence to make sure there are no issues. Then I have to check the barracks to make sure the soldiers haven't left them a mess." Tarron frowns at his cousin,"Let me go get some others to help. You can't do that at yourself."

Once Jackson had finished packing, his appetite had suprsingly returned. Sure, this would be his last good meal before his deployment, so he might as well enjoy it. He threw his fully packed camo bag on his bunk before heading down for his second meal. As he walked down the corridor, its walls filled with British Military propaganda, he saw the Lietuant Colenel. He stopped and gave a respectful salute, not expecting to get one back, he kept on down the corridor. She was probably busy anyway, so he didnt bother turning around. Of course he didnt want to get on his leader s bad side before the op.
The line moved surprisingly quickly for the soldiers last meal before deployment. He grabbed his food with a quick nervous smile to the line chef, then sat down next to his peers at the nearest table. Theyvlaughed and talked as if they werent about to go on a mission that they could never come back on. For the mountains would be cold and icy, and the threat of avalanches loomed. But Jackson ignored those thoughts. He laughed and talked about his past, his oppurtunity to join a full scholarship to play football, and the chance he could make the NFL. He learned more abiut his comrades as there lunch stretched linger and longer. The time to deploy getting ever so closer with every second. Finally, at about an hour to deploy, he rose to his feet and threw away his lunch trey. He made his way quickly and quietly back to his bunk, grabbed his pack and headed back to the stables. He had loved animals as a kid, dogs were his favorite, but he still loved horses as well. As a Sergent he would get his own horse, but he probably wont ride it long, as he wouldnt want to oberload it. He walked iber to his assigned horse, Reckless his name. He gently stroked the horses muzzle, speaking to him in muffled tones. He started to pack his assigned equipment, and gently attached and strapped it to Reckless. Speaking of Reckless, him and Jackson had a long history together. Part of his training was to raise a colt, which he had named Reckless. His coat was a chocolate brown and he had a small white stripe down his muzzle and what looked like socks on his feet. But Reckless didnt getbhis name by his looks, Reckless had always been rowdy and well.... reckless. Jackson had almost failed because of him, yet here they were today.
15 minutes til they left. Jackson started putting on his camo jacketnand uniform, along with a heavy coat for the cold weather. He slipped on his heavy duty, military issued boots, and tied hus helmet to his jacket, as he didnt need it for now. He tucked his Ace of hearts card and puctures of his family, firends and pets in its brim, then started to saddle up Reckless, as it was almost time to head out, on the long journey ahead of them.

Ruina waits patiently as Tarron disappears to retrieve some other officers to aid with some tasks. It didn't take but five minutes until Tarron, Riden, and two other high ranked officers; Sergeant Lucas Hawthorne and Sergeant Daisy Young. Tarron was sent to go see which staff, cooks, and medics would be going. Riden and Hawthorne would be going to check the barracks. Young went to see the stable hands. And Ruina would check the security fences. She nods a thanks to the four officers before they split off, moving as quick as they could to get done before it was time to leave.

It took two hours for Ruina to check the fences, as there had been some issues, so she had to help repair that before she could move on. With an hour left, Ruina gathered up her things and headed to the stables, she wanted to get her horse and gear situated before the soldiers started this way. Although many had already arrived and were doing the same thing Ruina was. She nods a brief greeting to a few of them as stable hands brought out her trusty steed. A large pure white Arabian stallion named Solaris, also nicknamed Sol.

Sol nickers a hello as Ruina swings the bags up and secures them to the saddle. "Hey boy." She murmurs as she reaches to scratch the stallion on the nose. She'd had Sol for a long time, almost five years. The stallion had been a feisty untouchable colt and only after a year of working with Sol had Ruina managed to earn the colt's trust and ever since then, the two had been inseparable. "Rui." The Lieutenant Colonel turns at the sound of her voice, only two people called her that. Tarron and Riden.

"Riden." She flashes a warm smile at the older man who had always been her father figure and mentor. "You ready?" Riden runs a hand through his hair as he turns his gaze on the courtyard, where more and more soldiers were showing up to get ready. "I've been a solider for many years, Rui. I'm never ready for war. It's a cruel thing. You never know the outcome." Ruina leans against Sol, sighing,"Trust me, I know. I don't know which of my men I'll bring home and which ones will be forever lost on the battlefield."

Riden muses,"How do you do it?" Ruina raises an eyebrow,"How do I do what?" Riden shrugs,"Lead all these men and women? Knowing that you could be leading them to your death." Ruina grimaces,"It's tough. I hate doing it, but it's an honor that they trust me to lead them." Riden runs another hand through his hair,"I have a lot of respect for you Rui. I couldn't do it." Ruina smiles,"Thank you." Riden smiles back,"Of course. Just remember, follow your heart. It will always lead you right."

Ruina watches as Riden retreats back to his own horse that was waiting on the edge of the courtyard. Riden and Tarron would ride closest to Ruina who would lead the formation. The rest of the officers would remain on the outer edge. Then every so often, Ruina would drop back and make sure everyone was doing okay. Finally 1500 rolled around and Ruina swings up on the back of Sol. "Attention!" Ruina thunders, allowing her voice to carry over the courtyard. Hopefully every solider was there, or they would get left behind.

"It's time to move out. For those of you who have ridden in formation with me before, you remember how we do it. For those of you who are new. All soldiers remain in the middle of the formation. The officers will ride on the outside. I will be at the front leading the way. However, every hour or so I will drop back and see how every is doing."

There were murmurs that run through the crowd and Ruina asks. "Any questions?" A few questions popped up and Ruina answers them, and then finally there were no more questions. Ruina nods,"Let's move out then." Ruina beckons her troops and starts out, Tarron and Riden falling in on her left and right and the others falling in behind her.

Jackson gave a nervous smile after the Lietuant Colenel's words. It was time to head out. He picked up all his gear and strapped it to his horses saddle, pulling the leathery strap tight, but not too tight to hurt Reckless. He fed him a carrot and some sugar cubes, before stroking his neck. "Its time to go now boy." He said, softly, so no one would overhear. Reckless gave a snort in reply, and brushed his front leg across the ground in anticipation. Jackson faked a look of shock. "Yoy want to go now?" He asked. The brown stallion turned his neck and gave Jackson that look that only he knew what meant. "Okay, boy, let go." Reckless gave a soft neigh as Jackson threw over his heavy coat and heaved himself on Reckless. He gave a soft tap of his boot on Reckless's flank and steered him clear of stablehands as he neared the doors. As Reckless made his way nearer Jackson took in the sight, knowing quite well this could be the last time in this building. Reckless, wanting out, walked faster, ruining the moment. "Reckless." He said louder, and his horse just grunted.
The cold wind instantly battered against his coat and face as they got further and further from the base. Jackson, on the outer right flank, led his portion of soldiers through the snow. He coyld barely make out the Lieutenant Colenel ahead, and couldnt see Jason walking in the crowd of soldiers in the middle. He let out a sigh and focused his attention on the Sergeant in front of him, and Reckless's reins in his hands. "I guess its just you and me." He said, as they walked on a skightly fast pace up a small hill. He brushed the small icilcles that had already started forming out of Reckless's mane, making his gloved hands even chillier. He tried to focus on the pines and evergreens around him, but they were all pretty much the same. This was going to be a long trip.
