Any tips on the word play game? I almost feel like it wants words that are not real and ive never even been able to get close to the minimum for some mushrooms.

WordPlay is a lot easier / faster on a touchscreen device.

You do not have to go in straight lines, you can make any shape possible, such as an L shape. Letters on the grid borders are especially valuable because they do not even have to be connected - you can skip to other letters on the border to make words.

Start with vowels and work around them. Find rhyming patterns - for example if you can connect eat, you might find neighboring letters that can fit, such as meat, feat, beat, etc. Plurals count, so look for S's! Gerunds (verbs ending in -ing) and different tenses of verbs also count. Some words are very short - most of your score will come from two or three letter words. If you can't seem to find words you know, look for a combination of three letters that can be pronounced and try it because it might be a word or abbreviation - there's lots of words that aren't commonly used and I've learned some new words from WordPlay.

Grids that will give good scores have mostly vowels, common letters, and letter S. If you get a grid that barely has vowels or has tons of Js, Xs, Vs, etc., refresh.
