The students arrive at the school by carriage, as it is far in the country. They will be given their dorm numbers at the front office and sent to their rooms to get aquatinted and settle in. Workers will take the luggage and deliver it to the assigned dorms. Horses will be in the barns. Classes will start tomorrow. The students have already seen the school a few months in advance so they know their way around. A role-call will soon be announced by the headmaster, keep your ears up!
Thank you for coming!

William Blue | Second Year Boy, AF Chasselay I | Sebastian Whitmore, Open

Will scurried out of his dorm in the middle of the morning after a less than restful first night at the school. He had been away with friends for the beginning of the summer and had convinced his mother that he would be fine without any sort of support staff to help him with his day-to-day needs. Which, he was, until he’d completely misread the schedule and arranged a red eye for several days prior to when he was actually supposed to move in. Not wanting to impose, he’d been staying at an inn in the nearest town for several days until he’d ran into Mrs. Mintz the day prior and she’d invited him to unpack and settle in a few hours prior to the arrival of the rest of the students. She’d assured him that it would be no problem since there would be such a high volume of students arriving the next morning, and that it might even be better for him to settle in to make less work for her staff the next day. Since his mother had shipped one of her mares to the farm several weeks earlier and she had already finished her quarantine period, there was truly nothing left for Will to do other than unpack his things and organize them in a fashion that seemed appropriate. Of course, with Will, the words organize, things, and appropriate could never be taken seriously together in a sentence, and he’d ended up with a heap of things on the floor while he danced around the room in socks on a caffeine-induced high until he slipped and fell into his future roommate’s bed, causing quite a ruckus.

Having quite a time zone difference to adjust to, Will went from his typical high energy self into a self-induced quiet time where he binge-watched movies while simultaneously skimming picture books with eccentric titles and keeping podcasts on in the background. At some point, he’d ended up slumped in a fetal position on his unmade bed, staring out the window until the sun rose and he heard staff bustling around. Remembering something that Sabrina had said the day prior during their meeting in town, Will came to the conclusion that students must have been arriving and that it might be time to start making new connections. In addition, he’d heard that his mother had contracted the brother of one of her riders to assist him with the things he needed help with. Namely, reading, writing, calculating numbers, and anything else on a page that didn’t involve fun graphics and color schemes.

Despite the fact that he’d not been given a physical description of this Sebastian Whitmore, Will had surprisingly good judgment with people, names, and faces. He recalled something his mother said about this boy coming from an English family that was well-off, and that his sister had told his mother that he was a tad shy and awkward around new faces. Knowing her son well, Emily Blue had told her rider that it would be no problem, and that Will could make anyone talk if given a bit of time. Every person Will encountered became a friend of his eventually.

As he reached the entrance of the main stable, Will saw several people bustling about. Immediately, he narrowed in his gaze on a young man toward the back of the stable who was a bit shorter than him and had charming features. He was dressed nicely, although he seemed like the type of young man who didn’t have any sort of “fun” clothes in his wardrobe. In addition, his hair was perfectly tousled and styled in a middle part that Will couldn’t have achieved if he tried–not that he had even close to the level of patience required to do anything with his hair other than let it be a massive mess of wild blond curls. Approaching the boy with huge blue eyes and a gigantic grin, Will confidently fell into a stride that got him there in a matter of moments. Although, the boy didn’t seem too pleased with the rapid arrival of a stranger and even seemed to snarl a bit.

“Cheers, mate. Are you Bastian, by any chance?”

The boy looked up, sparkling green eyes dulled by a certain sharpness to his demeanor. “What’s it to you?”

“Well, I’m Will. William Blue, if you prefer. Seems like you might be the type-”

“Whatever,” he muttered, “it’s Sebastian to you, not ‘Bastian.’ And, we’re not ‘mates.’”

“Oh, alright, mate. I mean… Bastian. I mean… sir.” A bit flustered, Will continued to ramble on without thinking, his bright gaze flitting all around the room. While he thought he’d seen more riders before, he realized that many of the individuals in the barn were staff that were tending to the horses and completing their morning chores.

“I’m busy at the moment, but I’m sure your mum’s given you my number. Send me a message if you need something, I suppose.”

“Alright, mate,” Will chirped, immediately spouting back an apology. “I’ll see you around.”

Sieshin no Izumi | M: Kanjo I, D. Everyone, I. | M Open|
.
.
.
Sieshin glances around the carriage. Everyone around him was chattering noisily. He squirmed when someone tried to talk to him. "Thank you, you're welcome, please?" He says, only having learned the simplest words. The person shifts away, and he doesn't know what they say to their friend. His vocabulary consists of the words; Please, thank you, you're welcome, welcome, yes, no, horse, Kanjo, ride, saddle, feed, jump, class, number, door, food, hand, building, help, need, academy, school, headmaster, student, new, old, when, where, what, who, why, this, that, mine, yours, you, tall, go, to, short, big, small, dorm, barn, cook and numbers up to 100.
His limited vocabulary comes from the 14-hour plane ride, along with the taxi rides.
He had left home with a small suitcase, mostly with clothes. He also had a backpack with smaller necessities. All of Kanjo's gear, along with him shipped out earlier in the week. He would be there and waiting for Sieshin.
Suddenly, the carriage stops, jolting Sieshin back to the present.
Sieshin was one of the first off, and one with the fewest belongings. He shifted his backpack onto his right shoulder and started off towards the barn. As he walks over, a stablehand stops him; "You one of those new recruits for the academy?" "Yes, new academy student." The stablehand's mouth twitches. "That way." He points to the left, where the other students were filing towards a large building. "Thank you." Sieshin bows, stiffly. He then turns and walks away, embarrassed.
Quickly, Sieshin walks over to the building. A lady at the front desk hands him a paper and smiles. "This mine dorm?" Sieshin asks slowly. The lady continues to smile; "Yes. And your agenda." Sieshin nods and walks out of the doorway. He skims the paper and catches some words. He skitters over to the stairs and pushes the handle of his suitcase in, picking it up. He walks up the stairs and finds the 5th floor. "Bakana kaiden, nante kusuna ndarou." (Stupid stairs, what a pain) Sieshin mutters under his breath. He walks to the end of the hallway and sees the door labeled 100. He clicks his key into the keyhole and twists.
Sieshin walks in to see two beds, a small kitchen, a bathroom, a TV, and a small couch. He chooses the furthest bed, closer to the window. He closes the curtains and looks around again. He then quickly unpacks and sits down. "Uwa, hontoni koko no iru yo." (Wow, I'm really here.)
"Barn. Kanjo!" Sieshin jolts out of bed, running to the door. He bursts out of the room and locks the door. Then, he scurries down the stairs and towards the barn. The barn was a gorgeous, huge, barn. Far better than the one he kept Kanjo in back in Japan.
He rushes in and checks the names, hanging on signs above stalls. He finally sees Kanjo's name and quickly walks over. Janko nickers and snorts. 'Get me out of here and let's go for a test run!' Kanjo's eyes seemed to scream. Sieshin opens the gate and walks in. All of the gear was there. Sieshin decides he doesn't need all of the gear, so he just throws a saddle on and leads Kanjo out of the barn, and into the field.
Kanjo kneels slightly, so Sieshin can jump on. Once Sieshin is on, he flicks the reigns and Kanjo takes off, mane flying through the wind.
Sieshin breaks a smile.
About an hour later, Sieshin decides that he should head back sooner rather than later. He puts Kanjo back in his stall and hangs up the saddle. He looks around and finds what he is looking for, a carrot. Kanjo takes it between his teeth gently and crunches it as Sieshin walks out.
It takes Sieshin less time to get back to the dorm, and he settles in, waiting for the roommate that he would undoubtedly have.

Jenna Lawlings | First Year Girl | None | Sunter | Pasture and Stable

Jenna had sat on the carriage. She looked outside and saw the land move past her, and heard the chattering inside. She was excitied, but hoped she'd do alright too.
Jenna held the paper with her schedule in her left hand, as she had her luggage slung over her right shoulder, clung with her right hand. She was looking at her schedule as she quietly trekked to her dorm. She didn't see any other students on her way to the dorm.
Upon arrival into the dorm room, she didn't make much of a ruckus as she looked at the room before her. She put her luggage onto the bed of a bunk. The items made a slight bouncy movement up and down, but whilst they kept contact with the matress. After a second, Jenna climbed up the ladder and began to assort her items. She went on the bed and gotten into a squat-like seating postion with her back towards the wall. After a while, Jenna noticed that her roomate didn't come in. Then her face pointed at her luggage. She took out a few small items and put them on the inwall shelf or inwall window sill right by her bed. Provided that her roommate hadn't arrived yet, or at least not while Jenna was inside the dorm, she went bustling about the room. At one point she went to the far wall, but she didn't leave her stuff messily everywhere as if she owned the place. Eventually, at the end, she could be found on the top bunkbed in the postion she was in before.
Before the students had even arrived, Sunter was content and was in the pasture. He had gotten a bunch of grass, and gave some chewing as he raised his head, then he chewed. He figured that the academy students would be coming soon, like they usually did this time of year. This was later affirmed by the carriage going by the property of the Academy.
Sunter was in the stable. He liked the peace and quiet it brought, although it may not always be quiet, this time, right now though, it was. None of the students on the carriage had taken a step upon the academy grounds yet either. His stall was located near the middle, but closer to one of the entrances, specifically the entrance Jenna would enter by later. So his stall was really offcenter. He swished his tail. But this time, something might be different. Little did he know, that he had been chosen to be assigned to a new student this year.

Georgia Hamiltion | Second Year Girl, Bite the Bullet |
Georgie gazed out of the carriage window and watched the scenery fly past. She tapped her foot absently, anxious to get to the academy.
The carriage finally came to an abrupt stop, and Georgie shuffled out eagerly, carrying her suitcase and a dufflebag slung over her shoulder. She followed the crowd of kids heading to the dorms. She took the walking as an opportunity to look around. She took quick looks at the students passing by her or walking ahead of her. Some were short, some tall, some with long hair, some with short. From her observations she had concluded that there was an even mix of girls and boys, something she hadn't really expected considering she had rarely ever seen a male equestrian before.
She made her way to the front desk and waited in a rather long line to get her dorm number and her key. Once she had acquired the necessary items, she made her way to her dorm, dorm 40.
She unlocked the door and made her way inside. It was a pretty decent sized room, with two beds, a small kitchen area, a couch and TV, and a small bathroom. She took it upon herself to claim the bed on the left side of the room, since there was no sign that her roommate had been here already. She flung her bagage onto the bed with a huff and busied herself with unpacking her things. She drug out her clothes, which mainly consisted of a few pairs of jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts, some English gear she had purchases especially for the academy, and some nicer western attire if she were to need it. Georgie had taken some basic English lessons a few months before she had came here, and she and Bullet were starting to get the hang of it, but she knew she wouldn't be nearly as good as some of the riders in her classes.
She then took out her bathroom items, like her toothbrush and hairbrush, including some hair products, and organized them neatly in the bathroom, trying not to take up to much space, she didn't want to be a rude roommate after all. She then proceeded to unpack the five different books she had chosen to take. These five were her favorites, but she had many more back home, sadly she didn't have enough time or suitcases to bring them all. She sat them on the small nightstand next to her bed and pulled out a few pictures from the bottom of her bag. One was of her Border Collie, Budgie, one of Bullet, and the last one was a picture of her and her family. She set them on the nightstand as well and closed up her suitcase and dufflebag, shoving them underneath her bed.
Georgie sat on her bed, excited to meet her new roommate. She grew bored of sitting after a few minutes and decided to head down to the barn and visit Bullet, whom she hadn't seen in quite a while. She made her way down to the barn, dodging and weaving through people going the opposite direction of her. She finally arrived down at the barn and searched for Bullet's stall number, number 35. She had to admit, she got slightly distracted by all of the other pretty horses standing in their stalls.
Georgie nearly squealed in excitement when she spotted Bullet's head sticking out over the stall doors. She quickly unlatched the lock on the stall and slipped inside. Once she had closed the stall up she immediately wrapped her hands around her Quarter Horse's neck. Bullet nickered and nudged her shoulder with his velvety soft nose. Georgie stroked his face and touched his small star in the center of his face.
"Man, I've missed you bud." She said quietly.
She spent the next half an hour grooming him until his coat shined. Once she had finished, she decided she would head up to her dorm to see if her roommate had showed up yet. With one last kiss on the nose, Georgie left Bullet's stall, making her way back to the dorms.

Xavier Valerio | 1st Year Boy | 16yrs | Fire in the Clouds | M: Georgia Hamilton, Seishin no Izumi

A small jolt shook Xavier awake. He blinked groggily, wondering for a second where he was. The sounds of many people and horses brought him back to his senses. I’m here! He thought excitedly. It wasn’t very long ago when his uncle signed him up for the academy. He still couldn’t believe he was here. After a quick stretch, he opened the door of the carriage and stepped out. Bright daylight filled his vision and he could see the academy grounds. The buildings were large, much larger than any of the buildings he was used to in northern Nevada. He stared in awe, drinking in his surroundings.

Turning back, he noticed staff members removing his two medium sized suitcases and backpack from the carriage. He hurried over to them, horrified that he had not offered to help already.

“Excuse me!” He called to them. “You don’t need to worry about carrying my stuff. I can do that for you.”

One of the staff members shook his head. “I’m sorry sir, but it’s protocol. Besides, have you registered yet?”

“Registered? No, I don’t think so.” Xavier replied.

The staff member smiled. “You should go and get registered at the office. We can take it from here.”

Xavier didn’t like this, but something told him not to interfere. With a quick nod and a word of thanks, he bounded off to the building everyone else was gathering in. The line for registration was a bit long, but registration was quick and it wasn’t too long until Xavier found himself at the front of the line. The lady in charge of registration was very efficient, and after Xavier gave her the required information, she handed him his dorm room key with its number and told him that he had been registered. Xavier thanked her, taking the key and making way for other people. Sitting on a nearby bench, he looked his key over. It was like any other key, and had a tag with the number 100 on it. I hope it’s not too far…or high up. He fiddled with the key, not wanting to think about having a dorm room on the 10th floor or something like that. “I’m sure it’s fine. It probably doesn’t even have any windows.” Xavier murmured, placing the key in one of his pockets.

A whinny from the nearby barn gave Xavier the idea to see how Fuego was doing. Knowing Fuego, the gelding was probably picking fights with his neighbor or pacing in his stall again. Besides, Xavier had not seen him since Fuego had arrived at the academy. His mind made up, Xavier got up and exited the office. It was a short walk to the barns, and it didn’t take long for Xavier to reach them. Unfortunately, he had forgotten that there were two barns, and he wasn’t sure which one Fuego was in. Picking a random one, he entered. It was a very roomy barn, with high ceilings and two long rows of stalls. Xavier had never seen such a large barn before. He took his time, walking slowly past the stalls. He didn’t see Fuego, but he did see another student grooming an unusually tall Quarter Horse. He stopped for a second to read the name 'Bullet' on the stall and moved on. When he reached the end of the barn, it was clear that Fuego was not in it. He must be in the other barn.

Xavier left the first barn and went to the second. It was similar to the first barn, but this one seemed to have a couple more stalls. Wandering down the aisleway, he caught sight of the familiar face poking out from one of the stalls. “Hey, Fuego! How are ya doing today?” Xavier smiled, rubbing the gelding’s white forehead. Fuego let out a deep nicker and sniffed the pockets of Xavier’s jeans. “I’m sorry, old boy. I don’t have any treats for you.” Xavier chuckled, amused as always by Fuego’s antics. “I’ve got to go, okay? Don’t pick any fights while I’m away.” Xavier looked inside the stall. There was a good amount of hay, and the water buckets were full. Satisfied, Xavier gave Fuego one last pat before he took his leave. He guessed that the staff had already dropped off his stuff in the dorm, so he figured it would be a good time to check out the place he would be staying in.

When Xavier reached the dorms, he saw many other students who were also entering the building. At the foot of the entrance, he hesitated. He didn’t normally get nervous about things, but this was going to be something completely new to him. It’s okay. You’ve got this. With this, a wave of determination passed over him, and straightening the brim of his trusty cattleman hat, he walked in. He climbed the stairs step by step until he reached the 5th floor. Passing through the hallway, he stopped at Room 100. Xavier took the key out of his pocket and looked at the number. It was a perfect match. He tried the key in the door and heard a click. Opening the door, he saw a small room with two beds. He saw that the bed closest to the window had already been claimed, so he plopped his own things on the other bed. Turning around, he saw that he was not the first one to arrive. The other person in the room was a boy who looked about his own age. He must be my roommate. Xavier thought to himself. He could already tell that his roommate was taller than him. He had light blue eyes and unusual light blue hair, which confused Xavier at first, since vibrantly dyed hair was rarely seen in Xavier’s area of Nevada. However, Xavier shrugged it off, chalking it down to an interesting fashion statement. His roommate had a rather depressed air about him, so Xavier didn’t want to bother him. Too late for that! I might as well introduce myself now, he decided.

“Hello there!” Xavier spoke cheerfully. “I’m Xavier, your roommate. I’m from the States, Nevada to be specific. It’s very nice to meet you. What is your name?” I hope I did okay.
