Void I flew around looking for a water source, I hadn't taken a rest since I woke up this morning and it was around noon. Finally, I spotted a lake but there was a cabin on the other side so I just decided I would stay on the opposite side of the lake. Just before touching the ground I turned into my humanoid form and knelt down at the water's edge. I cupped my hands together and brought the water to my mouth, it was fresh and untainted. I could see fish swimming in the deeper parts of the lake but with there being a cabin fishing wasn't a smart idea. Eventually, I gave up and sighed, wading out into the deeper parts of the lake and my feet gripping the rocks at the bottom. I slowly bent down and stuck my hands in the water, it didn't take long for curious fish to swim up and get close. After a while, all the activity of the smaller fish started to draw in larger fish big enough for me to eat. Once one swam between my hands I snapped my hands shut and let my claws dig into the fish. I made my way back to shore and used my fire breath to cook it before I sat down on a rock and started to eat. The fish I caught was a nicely sized catfish, a good filler. If there wasn't a cabin I would actually consider this a good spot to stay. I paused and then looked closer at the cabins, there seemed to be a couple of them amongst each other but not enough for a village. |

Kyler "Always running off, and then I have to chase her before she gets too close to the lake," I muttered to myself. "She didn't learn last time she got caught" I paused and peered through the thick ferns. Someone was by the lake, but not someone I knew. A traveler? Maybe a relative to the ones who lived in the cabins. That could be it. Whatever. I certainly didn't care. I stepped silently over to the lake, staying close to the shadows as I did not wish to be seen. But the inevitable had to happen. I stepped on a stick. Who put that there? I thought furiously. The trouble I get myself into She turned to see if the stranger had noticed her. |

Void I sat and enjoyed my fish for a bit until my ear flicked at the sound of someone stepping on a twig and my head shot up. I looked around not able to see anyone, but I still slowly got up from the rock I sat on top of. I continued to look around as I backed up close enough to the water's edge. I continued to try and eat as I looked around alert, I needed this fish because I didn't know when my next chance to eat would be. With the water to my back, it would be pretty hard to sneak up on me. |

So far the stranger didn't seem to be able to see me. But now I was curious. The stranger was eating a fish, and yet I didn't see any signs of a fishing rod or a fishing spear, or anything that showed how she had caught it. Maybe she'd caught it with her bare hands. But where was the fire she had used to cook it? Argh, I'm getting distracted. Why do I care if she sees me? I need to find Amrene, I thought to myself. I approached the water and kneeled in front of it a little way from the stranger. Why did I come here? Oh, I thought, right, to think. I only hoped the stranger didn't decide to say hi. I can't concentrate with noise. |

Void I stepped back panicked as they got close to the water's edge. My legs were set so I could quickly turn around and run then fly if I needed to. They never got any closer after they crouched at the edge of the water. the sound of my jewelry hitting each others was probably the only sound when my ears shot forward because I was curious. I slowly continued to eat my fish as I crouched down since they were. My clothes were now slightly in the water, but they were always warm from my body heat so it wouldn't matter. |

Maybe Amrene went to the village. Or hunting. I should have asked Kieleth. The sound of the stranger eating her fish brought me back to the present. I almost turned to snap at her, but caught myself. Why are you watching me, I thought. Leave me alone. A rustle in the bushes near the trees made me jerk to attention. Maybe it was Amrene! Tough luck. It was not Amrene, but instead a bear, a fair sized one. I scrambled back in alarm. I'm terrified of bears, and I didn't have my bow or even a dagger with me. He's probably smelled your fish! I thought, but still didn't speak. The bear turned toward the stranger, then at me, and it seemed to be considering. Then, suddenly, it lumbered over to me and raised a paw. "I don't have anything you want," I stammered. Why am I talking to a bear? I don't speak bear. I closed my eyes, unable to run anywhere except into the water, and I can't swim. |

Void I turned my head to the bear approaching, dragons and bears never really clashed, unless there was food involved. I felt my ears pin against my head as a first warning, but more of a silent one. I continued to eat, but a little faster this time. The faster I ate, the less there would be to fight over. I even began to ignore the tiny fish bones and didn't even pick them out, I just ate them along ith the fish. When the bear looked at me I hissed, bearing my sharp teeth at them as another warning. It basically said don't try anything, otherwise, you are fine. |

A wolf with dark red fut shot out from the trees and leapt on the back on the bear. Surprised now, the bear shook and clawed, but he could not dislode the wolf. The wolf bit at the bear, and finally it retreated. The wolf jmped to the ground and trotted over to me. "Thanks, Grynneth," I growled in his tongue. He shook his head. "You're lucky I found you. Where's Amrene?" "You mean you dont know?" Suddenly remembering the stranger, I turned to her and switched back to english. "Sorry a- are you okay?" |
