In the auctions I just noticed that above some flags, it says "Hot" or "Warm" or "Epic" in red. Um why? Just curious.

It says that depending on how high the prices on the auction get. So epic has pretty high bids. Hot lower bids but still high and warm has pretty high bids on it but not as high as Hot or epic. :)
