Blu-Male-Fighter-Mentions: Pack(IND), Alpha Pair(IND), Open - “There they are.” Nyx’s quiet voice snapped him from his thoughts as his eyes snapped up to the ledge, keeping their same, even, cool gaze as he watched them, wondering what they were gonna say. Arrow stepped out and addressed the pack, explaining the situation. To grow their territory? Why? What need did they have when their territory was already plenty big? Must be power, even though they’re already the biggest pack on this side of the mountain and probably the other side too. - He studied the alpha’s face from afar, not being able to see much detail but enough to tell that he was on his usual high horse. That smug gleam on his face, showing his ego on his sleeve. He felt the alpha didn’t particularly care on how he was seen, as long as it was powerful. After all, so many wolves have told him that he was destined for greatness… Oh how he hated those words. Putting that idealistic bullcrap into his head made him think that every idea he had was great. Just like this expedition. His mind traced back to the words of the alpha. 4 wolves. - Who would those 4 wolves be? He assumed one of them had to be Fenrys as every wolf knew of the Beta’s dislike for the Alpha. And obviously one of the heirs, not to teach them to survive but to simply take the credit for finding the new territory. Would one of the wolves be one of the healers? It would make sense, as no one wolf really had any experience with herbs besides the healers. Would they send Jeroboa? Or maybe Echo? Upon the thought, his amber eyes scanned the crowd of wolves, looking for a certain fae but couldn’t find her. “She’s sleeping in again.” He said, looking at Nyx. - Nyx-Female-Hunter-Mentions: Pack(IND), Alpha Pair(IND), Open - “There they are.” She mumbled quietly, so only Blu could hear her. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the alpha pair, Arrow stepping forward and addressing the pack before going to Matzaka. What was this plan of theirs? She didn’t like it. Why did they need more territory? They had plenty and no pack dared challenge them. Maybe the alpha just wanted control over the full mountain. With the size of their pack, they should be able to do it. Though not without losses. - Her mind wandered from the alphas to the pack, her eyes flitting over all the different wolves. She would miss all of them if any of them were to perish. Some more than others, but she would miss any and every wolf. Besides one specific one… Her eyes went back to the alpha male. Arrow was ok, Nyx still didn’t like her but she had her nice qualities. Matzaka? She never saw a likable side to him. He has and will always be an egotistical maniac in her mind. - She was snapped out of her thoughts by Blu. her eyes scanned the crowd again and she inwardly groaned before getting up from her feet. “I’ll go get her. Since you don’t care too.” She sneered quietly at Blu, which earned her an amusing look in his eyes before he looked back towards the alphas. She slowly padded to the apprentice den, sticking her head in and squinting at the sleeping form of a wolf. “Echo, it’s time to get up.” She gently poked Echo’s sides with her paws. - Echo-Female-Healer Apprentice- Mentions: Jeraboa Pack(IND), Alpha Pair, Open - Echo’s eyes slowly flickered open at the gentle poking on her side. She rolled halfway over to look at the wolf and sighed before laying back down. “Just a little long-” She mumbled sleepily before jumping up suddenly after Nyx jabbed her this time. Hard. “You are the Healer Apprentice. You don’t have time to be sleeping in all the time. Matzaka is looking for a reason to get you out of this pack. And I refuse to let him. You need to show him you’re willing to help this pack and not be lazy. Now let’s go.” Nyx snapped at Echo, who hung her head and followed Nyx to where Blu was sitting, just at the back of the pack for the meeting. - She dipped her head slightly to Blu, who simply ran his tail over her snout. She shook her head and stepped back, a slightly narrowed gaze on Blu, who just had an amused look before looking back to the alpha. She sat down next to Nyx and waited, her eyes curiously bouncing among all the wolves in front of her. She hardly knew any of them really besides her Mentor Jeraboa, but even then she didn’t particularly know him. - “You need to start focusing more. They’re probably gonna send you along with the party as a healer.” Nyx whispered, Echo looking to her with a wide gaze. “W-Why not Jeraboa? Wouldn’t he be a better pick?” Echo asked, tilting her head slightly, which earned a soft chuckle from Nyx. “And what? Have you sit here at camp all day with no one to train you? Plus, what if the camp gets attacked? They would need their main healer.” Nyx responded, looking towards the pack. Echo went to open her mouth to argue but couldn’t find any valid point to argue. Nyx was right. In the event of an attack she would be more of a hindrance than anything.

Storm - F - Hunter - Mentions: Nikolai, Matzaka(IND) Open Storm flicked her ears after hearing the Alpha females words. "Four!? That's a quarter of the pack!" She whispered to Nikolai. "What if one of us gets chosen? I would hate to leave you, especally since we don't know what's out there." She stood up and shook out her fur. "Want to go hunting?" She asked a little louder so the nearby wolves could hear. "The four chosen will need plenty of food before they go." They did need to hunt, but she also wanted a chance to talk to Nikolai, alone.

Leaf/ m/ Elder/ M: Alphas (ind), pack (ind), Storm (ind), open Leaf woke up to the sound voices. He yawned and got up, the floor of the den felt soft under his paws as he walked out. He could smell that a lot of the pack was up and gathered at the main part of the camp. That was strange. Usually a lot of the wolves would be out by now. "The four chosen will need plenty of food before they go. The pack was discussing somthing, which meant that he was late for a meeting. Leaf made his way to where he thought was the back of the group at sat down.

(Apologies for the triple post. It's necessary at the moment.) Fenrys - Beta Male - Mention(s): Leaf (ind: Storm, Nikolai) ~ Fenrys eyed the gathered wolves with a rather mistrustful eye, if one was to be accurate with the gleam in his eye as he looked around the gathered wolves. Slinking in, quietly enough not to be noticed, with light pawsteps, he quietly merged himself into the little gathering of wolves - staying near the back. When Fenrys said that he'd do the bare minimum that his Alpha asked him to do, he literally did exactly that. He'd stay long enough for his presence to get noticed, but if he was asked to do anything? Nope. At least, if it was for his Alpha, he wouldn't. Sidling in quietly beside Leaf, he could most definitely overhear Nikolai and Storm - the unaligned pair - quietly having a discussion that was... perhaps not so quiet. Fenrys tried his best to ignore them, but it was looking like they wanted to do exactly what Fenrys was planning to do later - sneak off and hope no-one missed them. Unfortunately, everyone could hear them - which meant it wasn't exactly that... private. Hmm. Maybe he should help them sneak away. Fenrys shelved the idea as the alphas finished their discussion and moved towards them. The ego of that bastard. Fenrys couldn't take it. Seriously, he couldn't. The sooner they could get rid of him, the better. Muttering something under his breath that only he could hear, he looked at them, his disgust clearly hidden, as he played that part of toeing the line between defiance and maintaining his Beta position. ~~~ ~~~ Nikolai - M - Hunter - Mentions: Storm, Fenrys (ind: Arrow, Matzaka) ~ Nikolai recognised his mate's thinking when he saw it, and hurried to calm her. "Storm... it'll be fine. I won't leave you either. If one of us gets chosen, we both go. Deal?" A slash of a grin across his face, meticulously hiding the worry that also erupted inside of him at about the same time Storm started. Sidling a bit closer to her, he inclined his head slightly, and whispered a bit into Storm's ear. "We can talk about it later. But if they try to drag you off now, they're going to have to drag me with you whether they want to or not. So it'll be fine. I'm not going to leave you." Nikolai cast a quick look around, seeing the alphas finish their discussion and stand up towards them. Although he doubted they'd be chosen - it was a one in four chance, for god's sake, and he and Storm were probably one of the poorer choices to be conquering new lands for them - that didn't do anything to lessen the knot of anxiety in his stomach. What if they were? Nikolai was good in multiple things, but mind reading wasn't one of them. So all he could do was wait. Wait, and see what came out of it. ~~~ ~~~ Matzaka - (Crazy) Alpha Male - Mentions: All gathered. ~ Matzaka nodded. Whispering quietly to Arrow, "I'll say Fenrys, Nightingale, Echo, and Timber can tag along with his mentor." His nose wrinkled slightly at the thought of the disobedient Beta - while he couldn't really be properly punished, even to him there was no doubting what he felt. Really, it had been the worst day in the world when his father promoted him to be Beta. Even though they used to be close friends, and his father thought that he was acting for the best... oh no, in no way did this help his current situation. Turning away from Arrow, his decision made, he pattered towards the pack. His right foreleg gave a bit of a twinge as he did that, but he ignored it. No point thinking about it now when they had better things to do. Reaching them, and mounting a convenient rock situated in front of them, Matzaka surveyed his pack - yes, his pack - with a bit of a proud eye. It was almost solely his accomplishment, ever since he picked up the reins, destined for greatness - and led the pack to it. What would they have been without him, after all? Clearing his throat a bit, he spoke in a loud voice. He didn't need to add the tone underneath it that implied what disobedience to his next orders meant - they all knew it. After all, he knew better. His proud posture also said so - he didn't need to emphasise it any further. "You may have heard some rumors going around our pack that we believe that there are lands near us ripe for picking." It was second instinct for Matzaka to use the inclusive pronoun "we" - it was how he had risen so quickly, after all. Only, now, it was used a bit differently. And what was wrong with that? "I too believe this. The territory towards the setting sun has been weakening for years, with the wolves in them slowly leaving. We even have found one or two of them in the recent years." He looked over his pack once again, before continuing. "Hence, I'm saying on behalf of all of us, we shall send four of our wolves to go test them. Figure out where they're weakest. And, if they have the means to, attack them and annex their land." Matzaka didn't say what they would do if they didn't find the means to. He didn't need to, after all. His self-confidence said they would, and while he couldn't trust some of them, they all knew what would happen if they couldn't. "Fenrys." The grey male, lurking on the edge of the pack, with hostile intent written all over his face, glared back at him. Let him glare, Matzaka thought. I can take him down a peg if he needs to. "Nightingale." He broke Fenrys's eye contact and glanced towards the female heir. "Timber." He should have expected it, Matzaka inwardly thought, looking at Timber with his fellow younger juveniles. "And Echo." Matzaka finally looked at the apprentice healer. ~~~

Blu-Male-Fighter-Mentions: Alpha Pair(IND), Pack(IND), Fenrys, Leaf, Open - Blu's gaze peeled away from the alphas as movement caught his eyes. His amber gaze landed on Fenrys, who had made his way to the back of the gathering as he normally did. He hated the alpha and it always amused Blu at how Fenrys was able to almost perfectly play the alpha. He was defiant, but not enough to where the alpha could publicly punish him. And it filled him with joy seeing the subtle angered look on the alphas face when this happened. The satisfaction of getting under that bastards fur was bliss. He slowly pushed himself up from his sitting position, looking to Nyx who had a questioning look on her face. He flicked his ears in the direction of Fenrys before turning and padding over slowly to him. - He bowed his head lightly to the beta and the elder who sat next to him before looking at Fenrys and darting his eyes to the forest beyond the clearing, signaling he wanted to talk after this meeting was over. Normally a wolf would know better than to attempt to speak to Fenrys in the morning. But Blu considered him a close friend and this couldn't wait. There was too much on the line with this expedition. This could be their big break. Their way to overthrow the alpha. He sat down next to Fenrys and turned his attention back to the dreadful wolf he called alpha. - God he hated that stupid smug expression he always wore. The maniacal yearn for power embedded in his eyes. This wolf, who everyone said was so destined to lead this pack to greatness, was very well in the works of driving this pack to ruin. Steering them in the direction of sheer drop into the void. His normally neutral face began to narrow in anger before he caught himself, keeping his lisp from curling back. - At the mention of Echo’s name, he turned his gaze to the apprentice, his fur bristling as the alphas gaze landed on her. He saw the subtle shrink back and saw Nyx curl her tail around behind her. He could tell she was keeping herself together. Nyx always hated how Echo would feel small and weak when the alpha looked at her. Echo always Said that the Alphas stare reminded her of her previous alpha. And that made both Blu and Nyx's fur bristle. Edited at October 18, 2024 01:36 AM by Delver

Nightingale - Female - Heir - M: Who cares, not me Night looks from the Alpha to Timber. "Hold, a bunch of juvenile wolves are send to discover and claim?" She asks the group. She spots Jeraboa out of the corner of her eye. He looks satisfied, as if he knew of guessed correctly. Night places her bet on guessing.

Leaf / m/ elder/ m: Fenrys, blu The scent of Fenrys settled beside him. Leaf tilted his head to the general direction of the scent to acknowledge the beta. He shifted his position slightly, his tail shifting closer to his body and his for paws moving a bit closer together. He thought about saying somthing but dismissed the idea as Fenrys muttered somthing undistinguible. The younger wolf was clearly not in the mood for a quick conversation. Leaf didn't even know how the wolf became beta in the first place. He had never seemed to like the alpha. A moment later he caught the scent of Blu. Probably sitting next to Frenrys. He didn't say anything either.

Fawn - Female - Apprentice - M: all (ind) Moon - Female - Beta Female - M: all (ind) As she heard the alpha say Timber's name Fawn yelped and thought to herself 'This can't be happening! Noo'. Then an idea struck her and she asked "Can't i come too? Pleaseee!" Moon looked at her sympathetically "Look dear, im not sure that's possible. Even so its the alphas decision. Maybe he'll allow you to go. I would have loved to come myself, but as i am beta female im not sure that is a good idea." Fawn ran up to Timber and nuzzled him. "Take care! I'm going to ask the alpha if i can come with you." She looked questioningly at Metzaka. "Can I? Please don't leave me behind like this! I want to go! You cant stop me!" The last words we're yelled out with rage and anger fuming in them. Fawn was looking like a small furious tortoishell rabbit. Moon looked at her in shock "You can't challenge the alpha like this!" She murmored. "It's going to get you only in more trouble. It's not worth the risk. You better get your words back Fawn. I uderstand you, but we both know that he is crazy, god knows what he'll do to you!" Then straightening up she said to Metzaka "I'm sorry for her behaviour it won't happen again!" Her words we're a lot different than her face, that was showing simpathy and rage of the alpha. Edited at October 20, 2024 03:11 AM by Dark sky

Fenrys (+parts of Matzaka) - Beta Male - Mention(s): Blu, Leaf, Moon, Timber, Fawn (ind: Arrow) ~ Fenrys sat in a bit of a hostile silence next to Blu as the alpha proclaimed his new idea, face darkening at every single word he said. What exactly did he want him to do for "the greater good of the pack"? Frankly, the amount of stupidity that he posessed from sending off a quarter of the pack on this mission - and really, they weren't allowed to fail was the implication. Unless. Hmm. That was an idea. Turning his attention to Blu, who had sat next to him as the stupidity just kept coming and coming, hesilently inclined his head at Blu's signal. Really, the sooner they could get the heck out of here, the better that it was. He was about to leave when Fawn yelped and ran over to his apprentice. In all of it, Fenrys had almost forgotten to talk to him. Shooting an apologetic look at Blu - I'll talk to you in a moment, his expression implied - he stood, and contrary to what he wanted to do, made his way over to Moon and the two apprentices under them. Casting a glance at the Elder - who he had no idea which way he was aligned - he started making his way over as Matzaka spoke to the three of them. Even from afar, Matzaka wasn't exactly pleased - definitely. Remember what he said earlier that he wasn't against using violence as a means to an end? At least, Fenrys didn't think he wasn't going to use violence on an apprentice. But that was minus one strike for Fawn, at least. Fenrys could clearly hear him, the stuck-up bastard, as he made his way over to the four of them. His expression was definitely a bit suprized at the tone of voice that Fawn used against him - and while it didn't promise of violence - and that, Fenrys was grateful for - it was something that Fenrys tried to avoid anyway. "Moon!" Fenrys inwardly flinched at the aggressive tone that he used against his mate, and hurried a bit quicker towards them. "Surely you've taught your apprentice better than that." He turned to Fawn about the same time that Fenrys reached them. His words dripping, he said quietly to Fawn, "Unless I say so, the answer is a no." With that, Matzaka turned away and left. Fenrys cast a concerned look at Timber, his apprentice - an inward check-in, were they all right? But right now, he was a bit occupied with his mate and her apprentice. "Are you two all right?" Fenrys said out loud this time to both of them, slightly concerned. It wasn't every day that someone clashed with the Alpha - and usually, Matzaka won those encounters. Such as now. Casting another scowl at the retreating back of Matzaka - which Arrow probably didn't iss, but did he care at the moment? - he waited for one of the three to reply.

Storm - F - Hunter - Mentions: Nikolai, Leaf, open Standing up, Storm whispered to her mate. "We should go now, I dont think anyone will notice us in the chaos." She made her way to the back, making sure Nikolai followed her. "Lets go hunting," she said, making sure everyone nearby could hear her. Just as they were about to reach the exit, she stepped on something soft. Looking down she could tell she had stepped on somone's tail. "Oops, sorry Leaf." She mumbled just loud enough for the tom to hear. Edited at October 21, 2024 08:16 PM by Graywing
