How Old Do They Appear: Early to Mid 20s.
Appearance:
Zephyr stands shorter than everyone’s average at 5’ 3”, though they usually seem 5’ 1” or even 5’ 0” due to how their posture is. Their skin tone is an incredibly pale, fair color with mostly neutral, somewhat red undertones. To be fair, they would have slightly tanner skin if they actually left their Clock Tower. Either way, they have freckles speckled around everywhere, they’re rather dark in comparison to their skin and scattered along their shoulders, face, legs, arms- Practically everywhere, though they definitely aren’t covered in them. Just sprinkled with them, like a light dust.
--
Zephyr has a diamond face shape with a jawline that isn’t particularly strong or weak. Now for the nose, they have a smaller nose. It’s a less extreme version of a roman nose, and it’s definitely on the smaller side. As for lips, they’ve got downturned lips about average in thickness that tend to end up in some blank expression, either that or incredibly animated expressions that utilize every feature of their face. Especially their eyebrows, which they love to use in their body language.
--
Speaking of, their eyebrows are quite a bit thinner than average, and without any prominent arc, though it might be due to how often they end up pulling at the hair there. Finally, their eyes are a deepset downturned almond shape, the eyelashes admittedly thin with how they tend to also pull at those. The color? A shade of yellow, light and easy to look at, a nice shalimar shade (FFFFAD). Their face is framed by relatively short hair, once kept shaved at the sides now allowed to grow out a bit. Their hair is a dark red, except for the bangs that are a bright red instead. The back of their hair has grown out enough to fall messily to their shoulder, meanwhile the sides have been kept in check just enough to stay right above their ears. Their bangs fall right above their right eye, having the tendency to sweep that way in quite a bit of messy fluff. Somehow, their messy hair doesn’t tend to get too incredibly knotted, though there definitely are some small tangles here and there. Near their hairline or near the ears, as they also end up pulling hair there. Back when they kept up with haircuts, they didn’t pull these areas quite as often and it was mostly kept to just their eyebrows and eyelashes.
--
Their body structure can basically only be described as lanky and thin, and short but shush. Everything about their structure screams that they are in no way meant for muscle or really any kind of physical activity. They weigh in at a thin 115 lbs, with their BMI at a healthy 20.37, though they’re definitely on the thin side, just barely keeping out of the underweight category, in fact only doing so by one pound. After all, that 115 lbs is counting all the mechanical parts they have, which ends up adding ten pounds. Meaning without all the mechanical parts, they’d be at 105 lbs with a BMI of 18.60. For scars… Zephyr has a few, though admittedly not that many. Mostly, the scars are either surrounding the mechanical parts or they’re on their left arm.
Attire/Accessories:
Voice: Their voice tends to be loud, louder than they realize it is. That, and it tends to be incredibly monotonous, often sounding agitated or bored without ever really meaning to do so. Regardless, their voice is lower in pitch but not really smooth by any means. Really, their voice is actually kind of screechy and nasally in texture.
-
Personality:
Zephyr is an interesting figure, to say the least. They’re incredibly energetic, practically always bouncing on their feet and seemingly just as often talking about whatever has managed to catch their interests. They tend to be impulsive, spontaneous and lively, always moving, always doing something. At the same time though, it’s rare that anything they do will deviate from an overall routine that allows them to do what all they need to do.
-
When it comes to social interactions, you’d probably be better off talking to a brick wall. Quite literally. They have no skill when it comes to socializing, being immensely socially inept. For one, they don’t tend to deviate from one or two tones. A default, agitated tone and a “OH MAH CLOCKS” excited tone. Once upon a time there was a slight in between, but at this point there hasn’t been a point to keeping up with figuring that one out. Secondly comes the point of social customs and mannerisms, they absolutely despise handshakes or eye contact, they’d much rather look around the room or look at someone’s body language(which they use an insane amount of or none at all), stop ‘staring into their soul’ and stop having them do the same, it’s uncomfortable on both ends. Incredibly uncomfortable, it makes their skin crawl and makes them feel like hiding in the walls of their Clock Tower and never coming out again. Thank you very much. Third comes the point of figurative language, they can use it and come up with only semi-connected things on the fly, but it tends to take them a second to understand it when others use it. Fourth comes the fact of actual conversation, which they suck at, since they either zone out, change topics near constantly, or rant about a singular topic for ages. And then there’s the fifth point of how bad their audio processing is, where they end up asking for people to repeat themselves several times before processing whatever was said halfway through the third repeating. Sixth, the obvious fact of social isolation with how little they leave their Clock Tower. Which is never. All in all, Zephyr fails at conversation.
-
Let’s not forget how surprisingly possessive they are either though, since there’s a lot more to them than just being terrible at social interaction. They’re possessive, mostly over objects that belong to them. Especially objects that they claim are their favorite, which they do quite a lot with things. They have a favorite mug, favorite bowl, favorite cup, favorite blanket, favorite everything, and if one were to use or take away their favorite things, they are not above having a screaming match due to it. If they have multiple of something, they have a favorite out of them. Including their clocks, though they have multiple favorites of those, ones where they’ve memorized the entire script of the person’s life. Along with that, they also have favorite topics, topics that they’re self-proclaimed experts on. Like spiders, or history, or scorpions, or different constellations. If you start a conversation about the Apus, Lyra, Horologium, Pyxis, Caelum, or Circinus constellations, for example, prepare to get ranted at for hours. Same, if not even more true, when you talk about history or spiders with them. Truly, those are the only types of conversations where they may actually succeed at talking to people. As long as the other person doesn’t get annoyed.
-
Regardless, Zephyr isn’t really that social anyways. Sometimes they are, but for the most part they just prefer to hide in their Clock Tower and succumb to the easy routine that is taking care of the clocks. It’s easier, it’s quieter, it’s safer, it’s just better. Speaking of stuff that’s better; Listening to them! They know what they’re doing, they have experience, they have memories, so they should be listened to! They know better. They’ve learned. And they’ve only gotten more controlling as time goes on. They’re stubborn and incredibly controlling. Their way or the highway, as one could say. And that goes for everything nowadays; where they once would’ve been at least a bit flexible, they’re now rigid. And where they once were rigid, they’re now so controlling that they refuse to let someone do it for them in case they do it wrong or change anything up, let alone letting someone suggest changes. And if someone doesn’t listen, doesn’t allow them the control they need, they’re prone to anger.
-
That being said, they’re incredibly meticulous, and extremely detail-oriented; sometimes failing to see the whole picture due to it. Probably the biggest example is how self-aware they aren’t. They can see individual traits, and understand those, but putting everything together? They know nothing of themselves. No matter what, they’ll assume they’re fine, even if to others it looks like they aren’t, because the details alone don’t say that they aren’t. And that’s about all they’re able to see with ease and overthink as they try to figure out why. Probably the worst part about this though, is they think they are self-aware. Because they can see the details and debate and self-evaluate based off of each individual detail, they think that means they’re self-aware.
-
One thing that they absolutely hate is not knowing things they believe they should know. Such as The Cataclysm. The main reason Zephyr is so put-off by The Cataclysm is because they don’t remember what it was, and they should. They should know. But they don’t. And they don’t know why they don’t. It doesn’t make sense to them. They remember everything else, every other piece of history, every single thing that’s ever happened under their control of the clocks, they remember. Yet they don’t remember The Cataclysm, and it makes their skin crawl. They hate forgetting things, they hate not knowing things. How can they possibly be the Timekeeper when they forget things, when they don’t know the things that they should know?
-
Back to other stuff though! Like how they cannot deal with having their personal space invaded unless they’re the one to cause it. Hugs are great, they love hugs, but only if they initiate it or if the person is someone that they have explicitly given permission to. On a similar thread, they hate feeling abandoned or forgotten or ignored, unfortunately though- It’s very easy for them to feel those things. They tend to stay quiet about it, opting for the route of drifting away from whatever/whoever is causing the emotions or the route of simply zoning out to not have to deal with those emotions. These problems have only gotten worse after The Cataclysm.

Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Skills: Using & Fixing The Clocks, Woodworking, Engineering, Painting, and Knitting.
-
Handwriting: They write very inconsistently, to put it simply. They either write incredibly fast or incredibly slow. And they’ll switch between a simple, usually legible print and a faux-cursive that’s just as legible as their print. Vowels tend to be very smooth looking while consonants almost always seem written too sharply. Not to mention how their handwriting smears at times, sometimes due to them purposely running a thumb over it for no real reason other than they wanted to. Overall, it makes for handwriting that’s incredibly easy to read if you know it but rather difficult to read if you don’t.
Handedness: Ambidextrous, usually defaults to their right-hand.
Mannerisms:
When listing things on fingers, they’ll start on their thumb. More than that, if they’re only listing three things, then the resulting finger gun is always ‘fired’. And if they’re only listing four things, then they’ll skip putting up a fourth finger and instead just ‘fire’ the finger guns. And when they actually list out five things, they’ll get four fingers up and then put three down on the last one to instead only have their little finger and thumb up.
When speaking, they tend to use a lot of body language and gestures rather than anything else. Even when they’re not speaking, they tend to have either very animated or very stilted body language, and there doesn’t ever seem to be an in between. Along with that, they also tend to just call everyone ‘Friend’, even if they’ve just met.
When walking, actually walking, not using the gears in their Clock Tower to keep on schedule; they tend to walk on their platforms or toes, and they then go on to walk in such a way that their feet end up one in front of the other in a casual, swinging sort of way. Point being, they walk kind of weird.
Sometimes, just randomly, without even noticing or thinking about it, they’ll end up picking at their eyebrows or hair or eyelashes. They could be talking, walking, sitting down, standing up, looking around lost, or literally anything and they could just start to pick out some kind of their hair.
Posture: Their posture is honestly terrible, with them hunched and slouched over that they lose inches of precious height. Until it isn’t, and then they’re standing with their back straight and no sense of bad posture. But, to be honest, that only seems to happen when they’re standing around, talking to someone, and gesturing about animatedly. Otherwise, they’re slouched over and leaning forwards.
-
Physical Health: It’s nothing special, they prefer the technology they have to help them with strength instead of anything else. They also absentmindedly complain about general discomfort and pain nowadays.
Mental Health: PTSD, Depression, Insomnia, Selective Dissociative Amnesia, Trichotillomania, Anxiety. Oh, and they’re Autistic.
Immune System: Their immune system is rather good, and they don’t tend to get sick often. When they do, even when it’s bad, they can manage to simply deal with it and keep going on with their daily life.
Allergies: None that they know of. (Actually allergic to pollen and peaches.)
