Initium Novum “A New Beginning” - Introduction The balance between war and peace was always a tricky one. The Kingdom of Estainia had walked the fine line for too long when a single human sent them spiraling into chaos. With the wish to tip the delicate balance in favor of the humans. War ensued between Humans and Dragons, and the violence between man and beast was unmatched, destroying many cities within the Kingdom, even bringing some of them to complete ruins. As the war came to a close, an uneasy tension still remained between humans and dragons, causing many of these magnificent beasts to retreat back to their world, and leaving very little remaining in ours. A particularly radical group arose, called themselves “Emundare Mundum”, which ruffly means “To Cleanse the World” in Latin. They had one goal in mind: to eradicate the dragon species as a whole. They wished to see an end to the remaining dragons after the violence many experienced in the war, many wanted revenge while others wished to reap the rewards of precious resources found in a dragon's horns and scales, creating a growing thirst for the ending of these creatures. And soon the group began growing violent towards those who opposed them. It had been nearly a decade since the war's end, giving the group time to rise to power, infiltrating the Kingdom of Estainia from the inside out. Little did this radical group know, but there was another rebel group growing inside Estainia, trying to bring peace to their Kingdom, and between the humans and dragons. And in the process, they discovered something great. Something beyond comprehensible by the Emundare Mundum. A connection unlike any other between dragons and humans. A link trigged from within by an emotional connection formed between man and beast. A bond. - Plot - Your character will become the first generation of Dragon Riders coming from the group rebelling against Emundare Mundum’s control, trying to bring peace to Estainia. This group is still young and has few, but growing members. They have only one bonded pair, as the process is not fully explored, and had really on happened by accident. The very first dragon and human pair that were bonded 6 months ago will be your guide, their job is to guide you during your post-bonding training, and grow your team. Together you will train to become a team, forming an elite society with that you will be able to take back your city and bring peace to Estainia for good. As well as restore the relationship between humans and dragons, so we can co-exist together again. - Sub Plots - More to come, not all will happen. Suggestions are welcome. - A member of Emundare Mundum infiltrates the group, pretending to be one of the rebels. They have the choice to continue their work as a spy or flip to the rebels' side. This may apply to the Guide of the group, or any new riders. - The grounds the riders are living on are attacked and destroyed, forcing the riders to find somewhere else to hide or retreat to the dragon's world. - There may be a member of the royal family that is among the dragon riders, however, it is unknown by the rest unless they chose to reveal themselves. The rest of the royal family is in hiding, but even they do not know where - A rider is separated from their dragon and captured by the Emundare, and the outcome is undecided. - Roleplay size - Players needed to start - I wish to carry through with this RP, I created it with the intention that it could be a large group or small group RP. As long as we get 3-4 dragon and rider pairings to join beside me, we can run a small group rp. The role of the Guide will be optional, and it can be made into an NPC if it is not filled. - Activity Notice - So I created this RP so that I can make myself dedicate more time to the game. With this being said my activity will be increasing, but I will mostly be on at night or early morning. There may be some days I can't post, but this RP is also not meant to be an insanely active one, posting once a week is fine as long as the post is quality. Edited at January 1, 2023 05:37 PM by Ciao

Rules Follow Eve's & WolfPlay's RP rules in addition to the ones below. 1. Activity, don't join to never post, or ghost the RP. If you are going to be inactive for a certain amount of time let me know in advance. If you want to leave the RP let me know and we can work out what to do with your character. This is not an RP that requires your everyday activity but you need to post at least once a week. 2. No OP characters, OOC drama, God-modding, Mary/Gary Sue's or having your character be "that guy". This RP does have some character-driven aspects so be creative with your characters. 3. Character limit: 2 riders and 2 dragons per person to start. 4. LGBTQIA+ is welcome among riders, the dragons being animals should preferably be mxf 5. This RP is Semi-Literate, I would like at least 300 words per post. Your literacy should also reflect in your sign-up form. Decent grammar is also required. I understand writer's block happens but everyone interacting with your character needs something to go off of. 6. Reservations can be made through PMs or by posting on the thread once it is open. Reservations last for 48 hours. 7. Any questions should be sent to me so we don't clog the thread. 8. I have the right to accept and reject any forms. Break the rules twice and the third time you may be removed from the RP. Edited at January 19, 2023 09:38 PM by Ciao

I have dragon classes pre-made and are linked here. However, I will only be requiring that you use the provided class name and ability, and you can receive free reign over the rest of your character as long as your strengths and weaknesses are still balanced out. If you wish to completely follow the dragon classes I have made you may do so, but otherwise here is the list of classes and their abilities to choose from, as well as their rarity linked in order. Rarity's Rarity is based on how many there are in the world, as well as their abilities. Rare Dragons: Helvede & Lysende Uncommon Dragons: Verden, Plaske & Lyn Common Dragons: Toksin, Mørk, Himmelsk & Kuling Generation's [ The Original Elemental dragons. Fire, Light, Earth, and Water. The most powerful ] Core four: Helvede, Lysende, Verden, & Plaske [ The Offspring of the Core 4 dragons, their powers are relatable to that of their parents, but are not as powerful ] Next Generation: Lyna, Toksin, Mørk, & Himmelsk [ The newest evolving generation ] Evolution: Kuling -------------------------------- - Available dragons - Helvede [1/1] Ability: Fire This Dragon class is ancient, one of the first 4 core classes, and therefore the most powerful. The Dragon controls fire with the mind. Allowing fire to appear in the blink of an eye in any amount they choose. The flame color gives off a bluish-violet hue. They can withstand the hottest hot temperatures made by mankind, they cannot be killed by fire. Excellent flyers. Lysende [0/1] Ability: Light and Illusion This Dragon is one of the first core 4 and therefore the most powerful. This dragon has the ability to create small flashes of light, this is meant as a distraction from its real power. Commonly confused with Himmelsk or Lyn class due to the flash they create, their true power is illusions, the more experienced, the more real an illusion becomes. They also have fire breath, though it is weak and gives off a whitish, or light blue hue. They are great flyers. Verden [1/1] Ability: Camouflage This dragon class belongs to the core four, therefore it is one of the most powerful, it is considered uncommon due to the increase in population. This dragon has the ability to shift the color of its body to different colors, allowing it to blend seamlessly into whatever background it pleases. They are able to climb and burrow. Plaske [0/1] Ability: Water This dragon class belongs to the core four, therefore it is one of the most powerful, it is considered uncommon due to the increase in population. Instead of breathing fire, Plaske class breathes a version of boiling water, they can also create a fog or mist. They are excellent swimmers, though they can only glide, not fly. The oldest and most experienced can start to make a form of ice. Lyn [2/2] Ability: Electricity This dragon is a descendant of the core four, more specifically Plaske class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold immense value. Lyn class can control small amounts of water like Plaske class and has a weakened version of their fire breath. Mainly they are able to conduct lightning through their bodies and are most powerful during thunderstorms. Some can produce their own lightning in the form of a “charge” but most need a storm to due so. Older and more experienced Lyn class can begin to control cloud concentration, some even creating rain, this is also very rare. Toksin [0/2] Ability: Posin This dragon is a descendant of the core four, more specifically Verden class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold immense value. The Toksin dragon emits two types of gases, one will stun, and one will kill, slowly, allowing them the advantage in battle. Some have a stinger on the end of their tail, it will release poison onto their opponent when they stab them. They are decent climbers and flyers. Mørk [0/2] Ability: Smog This dragon is a descendant of the core four, more specifically Helvede class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold immense value. Mørk class admits a black smog, similar to the smell of smoke, yet much thicker and darker. It’s a non-toxic fog, though some dragons with years of practice can produce this fog so that it can put a human to sleep. Excellent at flying and staying hidden. Some more experienced Mørk class can begin to control small shadows. Himmelsk [0/2] Ability: Light This dragon is a descendant of the core four, more specifically Lysende class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold immense value. Himmelsk class are able to create light, it is produced after charging when they open their mouth. It can become blindingly bright. They also breathe fire, the color can be white or a light yellow, and the strength is a medium. Kuling [1/2] Ability: Wind This dragon is a descendant of the next generation, more specifically Lyn class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold value. Kuling class finds it easier to breathe at high altitudes and are the best flyers out of the dragons due to greater endurance and speed. Their wings can send gusts powerful enough to break a tree, and instead of blowing fire breath, they release high-speed winds from their mouth. Edited at January 10, 2023 09:45 PM by Ciao

- Bonding - The process of bonding with a dragon sounds quite simple, though when you break it down each individual bond is unique in its own way. In order to bond with a dragon your rider must experience any sort of very strong emotion, for example, this could be intense happiness or anxiety. However, this needs to be within the vicinity of the dragon who will bond with you. The dragon you bond with will tend to have similar qualities to you, whether they are apparent or not. Once these two variables come into play the bond will begin. The process itself causes the metal and emotional barrier between dragon and rider to break, allowing a few different things to occur. The language barrier between humans and dragons falls, so you can now verbally speak and understand each other. In addition to this, a telepathic link is formed allowing mental communication. As you strengthen your bond, the rider and dragon will begin to sense their counterpart's emotions without having to tell each other of them or see it in their counterpart's physical expressions. Eventually, it will get to the point where the rider and dragon will feel what the other is feeling. As an example, if the human feels pain, such as getting a cut on their arm, their dragon will feel this pain as well[and vice versa], even if it does not physically happen to them as well. There is a catch, because of this delicate connection, if either of the pair dies, so will the other. After the initial bond, you need to immediately start your first ride with your dragon. Recently there was a small influx of dragons in the city of Laford, where the rebel's home base is located, due to calling the dragons received. This is where the new rebellion members will go not knowing of the dragons waiting for them. Only those within a certain age group can bond. - About Estainia - The royal family is currently overthrown by the Emundare Mundum, and is hiding somewhere secrete. This RP is during Medieval times. Cities in Estainia The Capital: Erast [er-rah-st] - Emundare is based here Erast is known as a marketplace and is filled with homes. Streets are lined with cobblestone roads and buildings are all joined together, with only the streets separating them. The main marketplace is at the heart of the city, with many mobile carts set up in a circular pattern. Erast is known as "the city of color". This is where the heart of Emundare Mundum's operation occurs. Onaron [on-ah-ronn] This city is located to the west of Erast, it is on the ocean and the homes and businesses are spaced out. They are connected through dirt roads and the area is slightly forested, but not terribly. This city is breathtaking, with large bluffs lining the oceanside and crystal clear waters with fine white sand. LaFord [la-ford] - Rebelion hideout The city of LaFord is the most forested of Estainia's cities and is used for hunting. Not many people live in this city, though there are many shops which are frequently visited by people from Onaron. Many jewels, which are mined and polished from the city of Keta are sold here. This is where the rebellion resides. Deep in the forest is where the training center and hideout are. Keta [Ket-ah] Keta is south of Onaron and west of Laford, this city is on the coast as well, and takes advantage of the large bluffs overlooking the ocean. Here is where various small mines are opened, the ground beneath this city is rich with precious metals. - About Initium Novum - Initium Novum means "A new beginning" and it is the name of the dragon's home. This is where all dragons are from, and where most have returned after the war with the humans. IN. consists of a bunch of floating islands, to high for humans to see or reach, however dragons who cant fly are still able to reach it through various means. No human has been brought to or has seen IN, yet there may be a first soon. Edited at January 19, 2023 09:40 PM by Ciao

╓═══════♆═══════╖ Brontes Greek origins, meaning “Thunder” ╙═══════ ≈ ═══════╜ Age: 468 years Gender: Male Class: Lyn Appearance: The image was drawn by the lovely Tenebris Umbra. Don't steal/trace/copy, the character is mine but the design modifications and drawing was done by Tene <3 Brontes is a male with impressive height for his class. Standing at the tallest he can get, roughly 25 ft at the shoulder. His build is leaner, and slightly muscular, making him almost lanky looking. Brontes is built for endurance and stamina, he can keep quite a good pace for a long time in the air, with his strong flying skills. It also helps that his wings are large, when expanded they are nearly the length of his body. Dragons have many varieties of scales. Except this dragon doesn't really have any, but instead, a thick, leathery skin, and has a pattern similar to a crocodile, though smoother. The color ranges from dark blues to light blues, helping him blend in with both water and various blues of the sky. The main color of this dragon is dark blue, which takes up his entire back, top of his legs, top of his tail, and neck. His frill is the lightest variation of Blue he has besides his eyes. The frill is similar to that of a frilled lizard, as well as the webbing you could see in a water dragon's feet. His frill looks more similar to scales but still has the leathery texture that the rest of him has. This frill is semi-circular and is underneath his mouth, and on the side of his face. Instead of the edges being round like the Frilled lizard, the shape is shaped similar to a “W” and continues in that pattern around the whole edge of the frill, every other point having a small ivory claw at the end. The length of his frill is nearly one foot long, and the skin around it is thin. He can tuck it against the side of his face, almost making it seem as if it isn’t there, it only comes out as a display of dominance to make him seem larger, or if he is tense or stressed. This male does have horns, but instead of sticking straight up they are more laid back, Brontes has four in total. Two on his forehead that runs straight back with a slight curve, the tip bending downward. Then one on either side of those two, with the tips curved upward slightly. They are the same blue as his chest, described below. This dragon's head is slender and thinner. The rest of his features are more suitable for speed in the air, with arrow dynamic features allowing him to gain speed and easily fly. His legs can tuck neatly under him as he glides through the air, and are powerful, allowing him to run on the ground if he so desires. He can be quite elegant while flying, though is a bit less coordinated on the ground. The other markings on this dragon include lighter blue/grey spots along his neck and face. The color on his entire underside goes from the middle of his chest downwards and is more of a dark teal variation. Brontes’s eyes are a bright blue and have a marking the same color directly above his eye. When his eyes are closed it gives the illusion that his eyes are above, so in a sudden attack one would miss his actual eyes. His wings are large and used to help aid him in high, fast flying and gliding, though they still look proportionate to his body. With his weight, Brontes is agile and quick, if his species was heavier, it would be harder to achieve this. Personality: Official hater of humans || Territorial AF || Disdainful and Snappy at Times || Intelligent || Resourceful || Communication A+ || Calm & Collected || Disciplined || Somewhat patient || Strong bond || Independent || Slight temper || Sarcastic Anger. Resentment. Distrust. All of which Brontes feels toward humans. Honestly, he would eat one if he could, just kidding. Not really. In the war with Estainia he lost many family and friends, so he isn't keen to be working with the humans anytime soon, he felt a sort of calling bring him to the city of LaFord, but for what he couldn't tell you. Brontes is territorial, not only by choice but it's a part of his nature as a Lyn-class dragon. His territorality also applies to his personal space, and can often be snappy to even those of his own kind at times. Brontes does not like the idea of anyone getting close enough to harm him, but his personality slightly conflicts with this. He can be social and enjoy the presence of other dragons, but he doesn't like them getting too close. Eventually, with his bonded rider, they will become an exception to this, it will take time for him to warm up to the idea of having to rely on and trust a human, but they will become a part of him and be treated as his territory. While he is good with communication if he starts to get frustrated he may begin to lack in that aspect a little bit. This male is normally in a somewhat grumpy mood, however, this has only been due to recent events. Especially with the recent war with the humans, and now having to team up with them. This has amped up how territorial and protective he normally is. This has also affected whatever feelings he has towards the new riders and their dragons. The stress and pressure of this situation have forced him to be more verbal. Verbal in the sense that he speaks up more to voice his opinions and make sure he is getting heard. Brontes will not just blindly follow humans. He is a collected figure, however, he still has his days. Of course, he does wish to have peace with the humans, deep down...he thinks. But Brontes does not want to constantly sleep with one eye open every time night falls, so he may be willing to work on a partnership with these humans. Though this does not make him completely ready to trust them and does not completely clear up his hatred for some. This dragon is cool in battle, he has a strong stomach and can handle the sight of destruction and carnage in battle. Of course, he has seen some of the carnage left behind from the initial war with Estainia, so that experience has made him somewhat ready for whatever he will face next, so a bad reaction will not be expected of him. Due to his experiences, Brontes is a pretty resourceful dragon and could make a potentially good ally for the humans, if he liked them. Brontes is a patient male and is able to pick up on a technique with much more ease due to his experience and understanding. His wisdom, skill, and size, may also lead to some disdainment towards humans. Especially due to dragons wielding a greater amount of power compared to them, and a rider who is not willing to work with their dragon will cause this aspect of him to rise more. Though his bond with his Rider will help him overcome this feeling shortly after. As mentioned before, Brontes enjoys his space, as well as some independence. Though he does find it nice to occasionally have some small talk outside of training. Mostly enjoying the company of some of the older dragons in the group. His speech is mostly clear and to the point, though he may have a few sarcastic remarks. Concerning a serious topic you won't have to deal with sarcasm, he will be straight and to the point. Rider: Open Abilities: Electricity. This dragon is a descendant of the core four, more specifically Plaske class, they are not as powerful as their parents though still hold immense value. Affiliations: open Strengths & Weaknesses: -Water, is both a strength and a weakness in this case. This dragon needs to stay hydrated to use cloud control -Storms, Brontes can create electricity out of any type of rain storm, allowing him to use his charge. -Charges, will it is a huge strength, it is a very draining process. Shorter bursts of electricity are fine, though a charge will take longer to produce and the dragon must concentrate, whihc may leave them vulnerable. Depending on the size of the charge, the dragon will loose energy faster. -Size, is both a strength and a weakness. Being lean and suited for flying, almost lanky, his build is more for endurance and stamina. Brontes can keep flying for long periods of time. However, when it comes to brute force he is lacking. -Flying and heights, as a storm dragon Brontes is an excellent flyer, he has a decent amount of tricks up his sleeve as well. And he can fly to great altitudes without struggling to breathe the thinner air. He has the advantage the higher in the air he is, humans cannot reach him there. -Dehydration, Lyn class dragons abilities do involve water, so getting dehydratted can happen faster than your average dragon. Likes: -Nighttime, everything is calm, peaceful, and quiet. It is this dragon's favorite time to relax, stars fascinate this creature. Don’t disturb him during his sacred time or he’ll eat you :’) -Space, being territorial, Brontes does like to be separated on his own claim of the water/land at times. He is also picky about how close you might stand next to him, he likes his little bubble of personal space. He doesn't care if his rider "invades it" -Rain, caused by storms which strengthen his electricity blast. His hearing is sensitive, so he enjoys the silence rain brings to the earth. Dislikes: -Humid weather, Brontes prefers not to feel sticky when he flies. -Being constantly corrected or disrespected, He has more experience and knowledge than the younger dragons, so for someone with less experience to try and tell him otherwise is maddening. He also does not like to be treated less than others or treated as a hatchling. -Humans, unfortunatly for his rider, Brontes does not like humans. He lost friends and family in the war a few years ago, and is not entirly pleased to be around them. Though after working through the bond this may change. Brontes would be the type to try and eat a human. Other: B) Edited at January 2, 2023 06:37 AM by Ciao
