Blake Paige

"Paige"

Almost will always introduce herself as Paige, finding it to be a very forgettable name, as a woman named Blake isn't the most common thing you'd see.

Age:
23

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Closeted lesbian

Gang:
[Will add a gang name later that isn't lame :P]
Rank:
The Right-Hand (wo)Man

Something of a second-in-command. Paige is considered to be one of the leader's most highly trusted members, thus making her important and respected in the gang. She doesn't entirely think of herself as superior, however. She still treats everyone as equals. Paige has developed a sense of leadership because of this role which is useful.

Appearance:

Credit: lunevani on picrew

Blake Paige is not a woman that you would really remember. Maybe her shorter hair or even the brightness of it, but other than that, she's not memorable. She stands at five foot six with a rather skinny build, not much for meat on her bones. She could easily be mistaken as a child, which honestly could work in her favor. Her skin tone is only slightly tan, as she burns more than she does tan, and it has warmer undertones, specifically orange. She has very, very light freckles and some beauty marks scattered throughout her body, though none seemed to be very notable.

Personality:
Witty || Impulsive || Stubborn

The sudden pulse of adrenaline you would receive by just standing around Blake Paige is a lot. She is always alert and on a high notice, taking in everything she can. Her eyes are constantly on the move to pick up one more minute detail that she can use later. She is super reactive. However, despite this, Blake does have a sense of humor. That humor is very quick and witty remarks, mainly laced with the obvious sarcasm you would find in her tone anyway.

Observant || Persistent || Competitive

Apathetic || Immoral
Strengths:
Weaknesses:

Affiliations:
Henry Black [46] -- Henry took Blake into the gang when she was just 12 years old, thus developing a relationship of a father-daughter one. The two used to be inseperable, but as Blake grew older and older, Henry had dropped the leash on her and let her do as she pleased since he understood how capable she was. While they still have a strong bond, the two are quite distant now, but you could always catch them exchanging witty jokes back and forth and maintaining a healthy relationship.

Nathan Simmons [19] -- Nathan is a younger boy that Paige recruited when she was just 16, making Nathan just 12 at the time he was brought into the gang. The two are very similar, so they always butt heads, though would lay down each others' lives to save one another. They aren't as close anymore, and in fact you can see the distance between them now, but this is mainly because Blake was forced to lie about the story of Nathan's family. They were slaughtered by the gang, though because Nathan was not there when it happened, Blake told them it was simply outside bandits trying to rob the place. Nathan knows now, but hasn't said anything since.

Other:
Blake owns a horse named Polo. He is a blue roan mustang, standing just at 15hh. He has dark black mane. The age of him is unknown, but considering that Blake has had him since she was 18, she thinks that he's around 5-7 years old. He is a very obident brute, carrying the fiery attitude that Paige does as well.

Callie is a relatively tall woman, standing at around 5'8, nearly 5'9. She is nicely built and weighs around 130 lbs. Her body has a faint hourglass figure to it, and she can be described as a muscular woman. She is constantly lifting and doing things that are difficult to the body, so as a result, she sports a muscular and intimidating appearance. Her chest size is above average, but it's not the main focus. She has lightly tanned skin from constantly being outside. Her hair is a cinnamon brown color, and it falls in curls below her shoulderblades. It is very thick, and she often keeps it tied back so it isn't in her way. In the sun, her hair may appear to be a ginger color.

Callie has freckles covering her cheeks and the bridge of her nose, and the rest of her body. Everywhere you look, there's patches of freckles. Her eyes are an emerald, almost pale green. They have little patches and flecks of brown in them that are highly noticeable up close. Her nose is straight and upturned at the end. She has a sort of sharp jawline. Callie has rounded brows and doe-like eyes that are framed by thick black lashes. Many other women are jealous of her lashes, but she just happened to get lucky with her genetics. Her lips are full and are a rosy pink in color, though they are usually picked at due to stress.

Callie's most notable feature on her face is the scar on her lip. It begins just above her chin, goes through her lips, and ends just slightly to the left of her nose. It is the result of a failed combat between her and someone from a rival gang, and she's deeply embarrassed by it. Often times, she will lie about the origin of the scar to save herself the embarrassment.

Callie can be described as a strikingly pretty woman, but her otherwise intimidating aura ruins it. She towers over most other women and some men, giving her an advantage. She uses this advantage to scare people and get what she wants, but it doesn't always work. Attire wise, she usually sticks to the same clothing, switching it up when the seasons change.

Her usual summer outfit begins with a black-button up that usually has the sleeves rolled up. She pairs it with basic blue jeans, and her black floral engraved boots. She wears silver spurs on her boots, and they make a little clinking noise as she walks. Callie wears a teal colored bandana around her neck, and a dark brown cattleman hat. She has an old rope tied to the brim, with beautiful feathers tied to it as well. The feathers are a few cardinal feathers, a long moon feather, a peacock feather, and a raven feather. They're bundled so that the first one you see is the peacock feather, essentially making it the star of the show.

For winter, she wears a brown undershirt with a heavy sheepskin and wolf fur coat. It's a green fabric with the inside lining being made from sheepskin and wool, and the hood and sleeves are lined with wolf fur. She did not make it, but she did hunt the animals to get the materials for it. She wears blue jeans again lined with sheepskin, and the same boots as always.

As far as accessories go, Callie wears a few that weren't already mentioned. She has a bracelet made from the tail hair of her late horse, which she never takes off. The hair is white in color and often stands out. The other is a necklace, which is really just a thick silver wire coiled around a beautiful aquamarine stone. It is connected to small chain-links, which is the part that goes around her neck.

Callie unfortunately has a weak leg, which was caused by an accident and doesn't speak of. It greatly affects her, even though she doesn't show it to anyone else. It's painful and alters a lot of what she does. She's constantly on her feet or on horseback, so it will never have a chance to heal and will always be injured.

Personality

Despite her oddly intimidating aura, Callie's personality speaks otherwise. She is a very kind and motherly woman, usually tending to the wounds of the people in the gang and treating them when they get sick. She is horribly curious, which tends to lead to more trouble than anything good. Callie is incredibly clever and has quick thinking skills, which means that the others usually turn to her when a problem arises. She is the mediator for arguments and disputes, she knows how to settle them and make sure both parties get something equal to agree on. She is a leader and will often take on leadership roles, but it wasn't always this way.

Callie is a naturally shy and awkward person, but since she was born into the gang life, she had no choice but to learn how to change and adapt to fit in. One of the worst things about her is how argumentative and opinionated she is. Callie will argue for hours on end about anything and will not give up, and she always feels the need to share her opinions. She will butt into conversations to argue or state an opinion, which does nothing but piss people off.

Callie is an incredibly romantic and caring person. Few have seen this side of her, but she is willing to share it to those she's close with. She loves physical touch and words of affirmation, she is always touching someone or praising them as a result. Callie always gets what she wants, and if she doesn't get it, she'll throw a fit. She's a smooth talker and will use seduction or charm to get her way, and if all else fails, she will simply throw a fit over it.

Shes a very calm and well-collected person, it's proved to be incredibly hard to anger her. While she does get frustrated from time to time, she won't snap at people. She will let them know she's in a pissy mood or they pissed her off, but she'll do so in the nicest way possible. Overall, Callie is a good person. Or, well, she likes to believe she is. She has a moral code that she sticks to religiously, but her morals don't exactly align well with other people's. Some may view her as messed up for the way she thinks and feels, and very few will agree with her.

Callie is not a very loyal person when it comes to the gang, or things surrounding it. She desperately wants to get out and live an average life, but the price on her head will never allow it. She is generally a very honest person, but a lie on the occasion never hurts anyone. She is an extremely compassionate and sympathetic person, she often finds herself feeling bad for wounded or anyone who is upset. She will try her hardest to make them feel better, to the point where she ends up horribly annoying them.

Callie is highly intuitive and can always sense whenever something is going on. It's an awful gut feeling she gets, and it also applies to people's moods and emotions. Though, despite this, she doesn't always ask or make comments about it. Callie is very nosy and will always be up in someone's business. She cannot help it, it's just her curious nature. A lot of people find this to be extremely annoying, but she doesn't even seem to realize it.

Affiliations

Michelle Astor- The gang leader, and Callie's mother. Callie and her mother are extremely close, and Michelle often comes to her for advice or assistance. Callie is set to become the gang leader after Michelle, much to her dismay. The pair can often be found sitting by the river, talking about nothing in particular or what they should do next.

Hannah O'Connel- Hannah and Callie are inseparable. Since they met, the two have been attached at the hip and are rarely seen without each other. Rumors have been going around that the two are in a relationship, but they are nothing more than close friends. They can often be found aimlessly trail riding together, hunting together, or just sitting and talking while they play games. Hannah was Callie's first love, but they have since deemed that they are better off as friends and not lovers.

Jacob Dames- Callie and Jacob have never gotten along, and probably never will. Callie has always hated Jacob ever since they had an incident, one she refuses to speak of. He constantly taunts her and spreads lies about her, but the others never believe them. Jacob does nothing but make her life a living hell, and the two are sworn rivals. It's kind of ironic, considering they are in the same gang. Jacob is mostly jealous that Callie will become leader of the gang, and he jokes about assassinating her before that can happen. It's not really a joke, though.

Mount

Callie rides a neatly colored shire horse. His name is Betelgeuse. He stands at 17, nearly 18 hands high and is a beautiful black in color. He has a white blaze on his head, and a white star on his forehead. He has two white socks on his front hooves. The most unique thing about him is the white streaks in his mane and tail. His mane has large white patch, and his tail has a streak leading all the way down to the ends of his tail. It's unknown why he has these, but it makes him a very easily identifiable horse.

The loud sound of hoofbeats on solid dirt rung out through the air as an impressively large horse galloped across the stretch of barren plains, his great hooves leaving prints in the dirt.

His breath came out in short gasps as he pressed on, urged by the spurs that rolled panickedly against his heaving sides. Gunshots cracked through the sky, whizzing past the head of his rider. "Come on, boy.." the woman whispered, voice drowned out by the wind. The horse was not made to be running for this long, yet he had no choice. Callie kicked her legs even faster as the hoof beats behind her drew nearer, signaling the person chasing her was almost right beside her. A whistle filled the air, and she focused her gaze on what was ahead.

A train was coming, whistle screaming and steam billowing as it moved. She knew she had to act fast. She gave another kick to the great animal she rode upon, somehow forcing him to go even faster. The train was almost fully blocking their view of the other side as the pair grew closer and closer, hearts racing in sync.

Callie closed her eyes as the horse thundered over the train tracks, barely making it before they were smashed into oblivion by the train. She opened her eyes again and cast a quick look back, a bright smile on her face as she saw that the rider pursuing her had not made it.

The horse slowed, but he did not stop until they were a safe distance away. They were tucked away in a little wooded valley, a dip in the earth surrounded by small hills. The adrenaline from the chase still coursed through her body, causing her hands to shake as she dismounted the large horse. Usually, Callie would remove his bridle so he could graze in peace, but it was too risky right now.

She needed to be able to mount him and take off at any second, and having a bridle made it a whole lot easier. "I'm sorry, Betelgeuse." she sighed softly as she scratched his chest, earning a little whinny from him. She trudged over to the nearest tree and slumped down against it, resting her head against the trunk. It was an old oak tree, the barn torn away by the last years. It was a near perfect summer evening, the sky slowly easing into a sunset, the gentle wind in the leaves and grass, and the sound of crickets and frogs in the distance.

Callie took off her hat and rested it in her lap, fingers fiddling with the feathers tied to the brim. She flicked her gaze back to Betelgeuse, watching him tear the lush grass from the ground. She would have to return to the gang soon, but for now, she was content.

The adrenaline had finally died down and the sky was now full of shades of pink and orange. Yet another close encounter with that gang of mongrels. She was disappointed in herself, she knew better than to mess with them like that.

Callie grumbled as she put her hat back on her head, adjusting it so it fit comfortably. She rose to her feet and approached her horse quietly, resting a hand on his shoulder. He raised his head and looked back at her, unblinking. The two remained like this for some time before she grabbed the horn of the saddle, placing a foot in the stirrup. She pulled herself up and swung her other leg over with ease, having done this time and time before.

Callie gave him a gentle kick forwards, her gaze shifting this way and that. Upon seeing that there was nobody else around, she urged the gelding on towards camp. As they went, the colors grew fainter until the land was dimly lit, but you could still see. The familiar outcrop of trees entered her vision and she gave another kick, sending the horse into a canter.

They entered the treeline and continued further until they came across the clearing where the gang resided. It was a well hidden area, with the forest being surrounded by the plains area before it broke into trees. She stopped the gelding when they reached the other horses, who paused their grazing to see who had arrived.

Callie had the largest horse, which was kind of a funny sight to see when the gang rode together. She took the bridle off of him and set it on the hitching post nearby, then returned to take his saddle off. She undid the girth and lifted it off of him, placing it on the post with the bridle. Callie repeated her actions with his blanket as well.

She knew he would not go anywhere, so she trusted him to be tackless when at camp. Callie sauntered into the heart of the camp, where a bunch of wagons and tents were situated as beds and shelter. In the middle, a fire roared with some sort of animal roasting over it. She went straight to a red lean-to tent, propped up by a stick. Callie crouched down so she was level with the woman who resided in it. "Cal! Oh, I was starting to get worried about you." The woman exclaimed in an excited tone as she reached out to grab Callie, causing her to fall on the sheets and heap of blankets under the lean-to.

Callie chuckled as she lay there, staring up at the top of the tent. The woman lay down beside her, gently taking Callie's hand and lacing their fingers together. "You're tense. More trouble?" Callie could basically hear the frown as Hannah spoke.

"Unfortunately. I just barely made it, train saved me." Callie used her free hand to pinch the bridge of her freckled nose. The sky was a deep, almost navy blue on one side, fading into a lighter blue. The moon was out now, and the first stars were beginning to show in the light blue part. "I see." Hannah responded, and then the two lay in silence for awhile. They watched as the sky fully turned dark, and as more stars became visible. They could see from the large opening of the lean-to, which didn't exactly provide much cover or shelter.

It was only temporary though. Callie could feel Hannah gently rubbing her thumb across her hand in a soothing manner. "Do you ever-" Callie began, but she cut herself off. "Nevermind. Sorry."

"No, keep going. What's up?" There was a moment of silence. "It's nothing." Another moment of silence, this time longer. "No it's not, talk to me." Hannah suddenly sat up, keeping their fingers laced. She gazed down at Callie, brows furrowed and a frown on her face.

"Okay, fine. Do you think we made a mistake? Breaking up? I don't have those feelings for you anymore, but sometimes I wonder what things would have been like. Y'know, if.. things stayed the way they were." Callie rambled on, never meeting Hannah's gaze. She kept her eyes on the sky.

It was true, Callie didn't love the other woman like that anymore. But there was always this little nagging feeling, the 'what if's' in the back of her mind. There was a long stretch of silence, but it wasn't uncomfortable. "Me too. I have some, well, regrets about what happened." Hannah sighed deeply, referring to the incident that led to their eventual breakup.

"But nevermind that, okay? Let's try to sleep." She smiled down at Callie, gently pulling the woman up to move her. Due to the current shelter condition, everyone had to share a space with someone. All of their supplies and tents and wagons had been lost in a horrible storm, so they had no choice.

Callie moved to lay and rest her head on one of the pillows placed in the very corner of the left side of the tent. She pulled a thin patchwork blanket over her, smiling softly as Hannah laid in front of her. She breathed in the familiar scent of the woman and rested her forehead against Hannah's back. It was completely platonic, the two meant nothing by their actions. Callie closed her eyes and patiently waited for sleep to come, hoping tomorrow would be a better day.
