Name - Kodiak Age - Young Adult Gender - Male Rank - Leader of his Pride Appearance - Has a cream colored coat that fades to more of a whitish color as it nears his neck and underbelly, along with his paws. His ears and along the top of his back near where his spine rests lays a more brown color, though is still light in tone and matches the color of the stripes along his body. Kodiak's eyes are that of a deep brown, almost black looking if you see them in the shade, though come out as more of an amber in the sunlight. He has a rather lean build with a bit of muscle, nothing impressive however, and massive paws and thick fangs. He is relatively unscathed other than a scar going across his right side from his shoulder and stretching an inch or two horizontally towards his flank Personality - Loyal to the end for his pride and doesn't seem to know when to quit, it's hard to ever see this male stand down from a challenge even if the odds are looking grim. His pride says this is one of his worst and best qualities, and someday may get them all killed. Despite his unwillingness to budge though, he is quite compassionate and soft spoken when around the rest of his pride. Kodiak is a born leader, and will always take charge when he sees it's the time they need guidance, keeping his pride safe at the cost of his own life and sometimes even horribly reckless Kin - Mother + Father - Deceased No siblings Edited at April 17, 2022 07:44 PM by Valinyx

Amara sighed as she made her way out of the camp. She watched her brother, Rune, taking out a patrol to go hunt as she headed in another direction. She had gotten into an argument with her brother just before about one of them needing a mate to continue their lines to take over when the two die. The issue was Amara didnt like any of the males in the pride, and the three other females ALL wanted Rune, but only for his power. It ticked off Amara that the other females felt like that. She neared the border, hearing that her brother and the hunting party seemed to change direction to follow prey and gave a low annoyed growl. She decided to lay down in the shade, placing her head on her paws with a sigh.

Kodiak ambled along the territory that made up his pride's land, calloused paws easily traversing through the territory with the occasional assistance from his curved claws that served to grip the packed dirt and grass beneath him. Behind the sabertooth, he could hear the droning thud of heavy pawsteps that made up around a third of his own pride, all eager and rather hungry as most licked their chops and others tried hiding their ever growing hunger behind quiet whispered chatter until they stomachs sought to betray and grumbled, though voices were kept as low as they could. The pride knew they had to be somewhat quiet until the hunt finally commenced or risk alerting their prey early and helplessly watching them flee to safety, somewhere they couldn't hope to reach, and forcing them to search for another few hours to find something different until the hunger became too great and they were forced home. The leader of his pride, cream coat trying to take in as much dim sunlight as they could, the rays that managed to poke through the clouds, scanned the ground before him. Kodiak's deep brown colored eyes worked to try and spot even the faintest sight of tracks from a ground sloth he could smell within the area somewhere. The scent was faint, yet he pressed on to test his luck rather than wander aimlessly again. A soft growl sounded next to him, and Kodiak turned to look at the member who seemed like they had caught onto something, their eyes narrowed in concentration as they scanned the horizon before finally turning to the pride leader. "It's faint, but horses came through here." She murmured, ear twitching lightly before nodding in the direction she was once glaring contemplatively at, away from the direction the sun rose. "If we hurry we might be able to catch them before they're able to cross the river a few miles from here." Kodiak looked in the direction, tilted his head for a moment, then with a nod towards the dull grey colored female, Kara, he started padding off into the general direction, the small third of his pride quickly following suit. The only problem with going this way was the threat of being so close to the other pride, but the brash male decided he would worry about such things later if it came to a confrontation, for now, he had to focus on leading his pride through this hunt so they wouldn't starve to death. Kodiak stopped in his tracks, claws digging into the dirt beneath him and forming miniscule clumps of dirt where the soil was upturned from the motion. Before him a decently sized herd of horses were grazing lazily, wiry tails flicking behind them and heads bowed so they could nip at the emerald grass below their hooves. As far as Kodiak was concerned, this herd was fair game. Crouching low to the ground, he scanned over the herd a few times before finally his gaze landed on an elderly looking mare that had a slight lag to her step, greying muzzle standing out from her brown colored coat as she stood a little ways off from the rest, eyes blinking slowly like in a sort of haze. The rest of the pride seemed to catch on to what he saw, and gradually, they all took position in surrounding the herd in a sloppy half circle, bellies basically touching the ground from how low they crouched as a loud silence filled the air around them. Kodiak stared ahead at his prides prey, watched some more, then finally, sprung to his paws in a quick sprint once her back was completely turned to him. Edited at April 19, 2022 01:23 AM by Valinyx

Amara grew bored as to where she was, her eyes following her brother and the hunting party. Her blue eyes were narrowed as she decided to follow, though she stayed at a distance to not disturb them, nor get in their way. A scent hit her nose and she looked around, spotting a herd of horses her eyes narrowed. They looked spooked, and she knew it wasnt from her brother. As Amara let her eyes wonder, she spotted the other pride. A low growl escaped her throat before she made her way towards her brother. "Rune, the other pride is here" she said, motioning in the direction she spotted them and the horses. Her brother looked furious before he charged in, not thinking. *Typical* Amara thought before she raced after him. Rune was too much of a hot head and it upset Amara a lot. There wasnt much she could do about it though. It was his pride after all. Before Amara could stop Rune from charging the rival pride, a horseran straight at Amara, kicking her in the shoulder as it barely leaped over her. The female saber let out a pained growling roar as she swiped at it's leg with her uninjured leg. She collapsed from the pain, but saw that Rune was still going after the other pride. *Of course, why would he care about anything other than territory* she thought. ~~~ Rune let out a roar before he stopped at the edge of the territory. "What are you doing so close to the border" he snarled, looking like he was going to steal their prey had they answered wrong. His hunting party stopped behind him, the three males looking rather upset just like Rune. He didnt notice Amara walking up with a limp, nor did he really care. They might have been siblings, but they were never close. He didnt even notice her plopping down from the pain near a rock.
