***this one isn't going to be pretty yet bc we haven't expanded too much on what all this'll be, but im going to do a summary of my ideas:
An alien from another galaxy/planet (doesn't have to look like human - just has to be able to disguise as one. he could have abilities too!!) is the next door neighbor to nikolai. he just moved in, so nikolai goes over and is like "welcome neighbor!" (you can decide how little alien knows of earth customs)
but the alien is there to manage a series of portals in like the basemint or something that foes to a bunch of dif. planets. aliens will be like passing through a lot.
....
the planets could be super outragous - like that one wehre it constantly rains sideways glass. and stuff.
....
alien can just be solo guy or have pals/kiddos - up to you :)))
i really hope we end up doing this rp haha

Name;
Nikolai Kostasovich Pavlishchev
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Age;
36
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Gender;
Male
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Sexuality;
Gay
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Occupation;
Nikolai is an astronomer! He really enjoys his profession, and has worked really hard to get to where he is now. Nikolai has been working at the same place for around 8 years, and has both a bachelor's degree and PhD in astronomy. Nikolai specifically works in planetary astronomy, meaning he does research on planetary systems, and other related fields, such as moons and asteroids.
Occasionally he gives talks at the nearby colleges and high schools, and more rarely elementary schools. Nikolai is able to comfortably provide for his children, as well as purchase a house on his own due to his job, and how successful he is in it.
Nikolai is very smart, and was even able to graduate high school early. He specializes in the STEM field, and even if his kids sometimes give him grief about not being able to manage social media (he might over exaggerate his ability his inability to use it in order to make them laugh), he can troubleshoot most problems relating to working technology itself, as it is a major part of his job.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Backstory;
Nikolai has been married twice. His first wife, Layla Alexandria Pavlishchev - fondly recalled as Alexia - passed away in a car crash when she was 25, and Nikolai was 23. Their daughter - Alexandria (who goes by Dee with most people) - was only 3 at the time. Nikolai and Alexia had been dating while they were in college, and accidentally conceived Dee. They decided to get married, and while it was rough, they made it work, as Alexia had been in her final year when she became pregnant with their daughter.
It was only two years into the marriage when the accident occured, and Nikolai was studying to be an astronomer, and was in the start of his seventh year of college, having graduated high school a year early. Nikolai already had his bachelor's degree, and was in the process of getting his PhD. With the help of a supportive group of friends that had already graduated, Nikolai was able to remain in school to finish his PhD while raising his three year old daughter at the same time.
When Nikolai was 26, he finished college, and since Dee had started school, he was able to jump right into the workforce. It was difficult to juggle, but Nikolai managed it, and two years later, landed the job of his dreams as an astronomer at a high-tech research facility at the age of 28.
The year before landing his new job, when he was 27, Nikolai met a wonderful woman named Miranda, and the two became fast friends, and eventually started dating. Miranda already had a son - Micheal - who was only 1 at the time, and had immediately latched onto Nikolai. The two got married when they were both 29.
Dee was 9 at the time, and although originally she didn’t like Miranda much, she eventually grew to like the other woman, and saw her as a motherly figure. Two years into the marriage, Miranda and Nikolai had a son together, who they named Viktor.
Miranda and Nikolai were married for three more years before they got a divorce. They were both 34 at the time, Viktor was three, Micheal was eight, and Dee was fourteen. It was very much a mutual split, as they had both realized around the same time that they were both gay when Dee came out to them as bisexual. It was really awkward and kind of awful, but at the end of it all, they split on mutual terms, and still remain amazing friends (they try to meet up for coffee at least once a month without the kids, although they still meet up outside of that, as they only live about a twenty minute drive from one another).
Although legally Michael and Dee were both Miranda and Nikolai’s children, Michael stays full time with Miranda, and Dee stays full time with Nikolai. Viktor lives primarily with Nikolai, but goes to Miranda’s every other weekend. Miranda is a photographer, and takes photos at weddings or other events, meaning she travels around a lot.
Whenever she is gone, Michael and Viktor stay with Nikolai. Their schedule for visiting time is very flexible, though, so if any of the children (including Dee and Michael) want to visit their other parent or stay with them for longer, then Miranda and Nikolai make it work.
The next year was a big year for the family - Miranda and Dee both got their first girlfriends, and Michael came out at ftm trans. In front of Nikolai’s house, which he also bought in the year after the divorce, he has the pride and trans flags hanging proudly outside.
Currently, Nikolai is 36, and it has been two years since he and Miranda split. Her girlfriend of one year - Haylee - has now found her place in the family, and everyone gets along (except for the occasional squabble between the kids, which is to be expected). They all do holidays together at Nikolai’s, and it has become a tradition that doesn’t seem anywhere close to ending.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Looks;
Nikolai is 5’9, with a slim frame, and minimal muscle. He spends more time in the laboratory and on the computer than out doing physical exercise, so he isn’t strong or fit. Nikolai has short and dark curly brown hair, with touches of gray on his temples. He also normally keeps a light stubble, which does not have any gray yet.
Nikolai has a strong chin, with a jawline that isn't soft, but it is not sharp or strong either. Overall, Nikolai’s features are quite average. He isn’t a stunning supermodel - and although he is attractive, it is in a quieter and warm way - and has never felt any loss about it. He does not have to be sexy to be a scientist.
The bridge of his nose has a slight bump, although from the front it is straight. He has warm and quick brown eyes, which light up when talking about his job, interests, or his family. They are magnified by his glasses, which have a thin black frame, and a boxy shape. The glasses get lost very often, so he had to get an extra pair (which he also loses a lot).
He has to use glasses to see anything up close (like with reading or seeing anything on a phone).
Nikolai has crow feet in the corner of his eyes, and smile lines around his mouth, as well as creases on his forehead. He does not have any piercings, although he does actually have two tattoos. The first was the name “Alexia” in his own handwriting to mourn his first wife, which is on the inside of his lower, left arm. The other one is on his right bicep - and it is a drawing of his own that is an accurate representation of the night sky (the specific date being the day he got his dream job (meaning that was the orientation of the stars on that night)) and a dark treeline below it.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Personality/Fun Facts;
(Because face it: I have no idea what his personality is really going to be like. It’ll just form throughout the roleplay, but here are some fun tid-bits about who Nikolai is, since I love this dude.)
Nikolai is bilingual - he is fluent in both Russian and in English, and has a highschool education in ASL. He isn’t fluent by any means, but is able to carry on a slow conversation, and get a message across. Nikolai actually really enjoyed school and learning, and graduated at the top of his class as valedictorian a year early.
He is a walking book of facts, and knows a little about a lot of different things - although his primary focus is space and astronomy.
⛤⛤⛤
At the age of ten, Nikolai immigrated from Russia with his father - Kosta. Before moving Nikolai had only spoken Russain, and mostly continued to speak it in the household, as English was harder for his father to learn. Nikolai’s accent can still be heard in his voice, even all of this time later. His father was quite old-fashioned, and raised his young son in a new country to the best of his ability.
When Nikolai was young, his father would tell him, “Kolya, it is you and I now. We must work together, yes? Things will be rough, but keep your chin up. Never let anyone tell you your limits. You are strong, Kolya. You can make your own life here.” Even now, years and years later, Nikolai remembers his father’s words, and uses them to push forward. All he ever wanted was to make his father proud, and while Nikolai isn’t sure he ever accomplished that, he has met and moved beyond his own goals, and knows it is enough.
In Nikolai’s second year of college, his father passed away from old age, and never got to meet his grandchildren, or even the woman who would become his first wife.
⛤⛤⛤
Nikolai is quite the chef, and especially enjoys baking pastries and other sweets. He also has a rudimentary ability to sew, which was helpful with patching his children’s clothes with the wear and tear that occurred - especially with Dee. Dee was, and still is, probably his most… chaotic child. She was the firstborn, and had an ever-changing childhood, which made growing up difficult, although Nikolai tried to be a solid rock for her.
The two actually have a really good relationship - especially considering she is a teenager - which isn’t one sided. Nikolai helps wherever he can regarding everything Dee is willing to talk about - from school, to her future, to dating, and her other hobbies. Nikolai is supportive of basically everything she wants to do (he didn’t support her when she wanted to get her first girlfriend’s name tattooed on her, which proved to be a smart decision when they broke up two months later), and has tried to provide a safe and loving household for her to grow up in - and do the same for his other children as well, of course. Nikolai loves his kids - it doesn’t matter if they are blood related or not.
⛤⛤⛤
For all of his brains, Nikolai’s memory - when it comes to anything that isn’t the odd collection of facts that he has stored in his brain, or anything related to astronomy - is absolutely crap.
Where he left his glasses, dates (like anniversaries, birthdays, appointments - anything at all), names, favorite foods - it will not stick. The most random stuff does stick, however, like how he knows that Dee hates asking for help, Michael will not walk up or down the stairs if they are dark, and that Viktor doesn’t like any sudden loud sounds.
These little quirks aren’t really present in his mind at all times, it is more of some background knowledge that subconsciously tells him to check in on Dee doing homework about an hour into it, to leave the lights on that are over the stairs during the night when Michael is over, and to make sure he gives Viktor warning if he is going to turn on appliances like the blender or washing machine. It might take a bit to remember their birthdays, though, which is why he has around 500 reminders set.
⛤⛤⛤
The kids always joke how Nikolai is allergic to sleep and mornings without coffee - and in some regards, both are true.
Nikolai tends to go to bed late, and can’t sleep past 5 am. It still takes two cups of coffee to really be aware of what is going on, too. He isn’t a superhero.
Although Nikolai does work during the day (very few astronomers actually work during the night) there are some days where he stays up to observe the sky during certain phenomena, or to gather new research, or any variety of things (it could also just be because he wants to stargaze all night with his own personal telescope (one of the few things that Nikolai is stern about is to not touch the telescope unless he is there or has given permission)). He works four days a week, with the weekends and every Friday off.
⛤⛤⛤
Some other really random facts are that Nikolai is left handed, knows how to play the guitar, and is a decent artist. He taught himself how to play the guitar off of a bet with one of his friends in college, and actually really enjoyed it. When he was able to afford it, Nikolai bought a guitar of his own years later (having been borrowing a friend’s in college) and relearned it.
Now he mostly just plays for his kids, or for family gatherings.
The artist thing mainly comes from his job, and the need to be able to accurately depict different images, plus Nikolai naturally having a critical eye. Therefore - most of his art is realistic, and there are a few pencil sketches on his kids walls whenever he makes something they like.
Nikolai also really enjoys cooking, having learned from his father as a young boy.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Extra;
Nikolai is allergic to peanuts (luckily it isn’t an airborne allergy, so his kids can still have their peanut butter sandwiches or snacks - although they do have a specific “Peanut Knife” as it is a severe allergy) which was not fun to find out about. It is quite a funny story, looking back on it, but getting rushed to the hospital at the time was definitely not great.
He also gets horribly congested with dust, pollen, or simply existing (well, that probably isn’t true, but it does seem like that at times). Candles or other strong scents also irritate his nose. Nikolai has to take allergy medicine every day, but, going back to his horrible memory, often forgets to take it (Dee eventually wrote a giant reminder to put on the refrigerator. It does work, and Nikolai silently thanks his daughter every day when he doesn’t want to claw off his nose because of allergies).
He is also lactose intolerant! That does not stop him from eating some dairy, such as ice cream, on occasion, although he does use oat milk instead of normal dairy, and tries to avoid dairy for the most part.

➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Name;
Alexandria Nikolaiova Pavlishchev
“Dee” to almost everyone.
“Sasha” for Nikolai and Viktor, and just “Sash” for Miranda and Michael
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Age;
16
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Gender;
Female
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Sexuality;
Bisexual
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Occupation/School;
Currently, Dee is a junior in high school. She has never liked school, and would much rather be either outside or messing around on her phone. However, Dee still does well enough - mostly due to Nickolai’s help with understanding difficult concepts - and sits happily at a B average.
Although Dee constantly gripes about the annoying people, busy halls, and stressful classes, she is still ever-faithful on getting to school on time, taking her notes, and trying her best. Her favorite class is, funnily enough, astronomy. Neither Michael nor Viktor share Nickolai’s love for the stars, but Dee finds them interesting.
She’d grown up with Nikolai raising her on his own, reading articles of study to her in order to fall asleep when his schedule had been full, and seen how at every turn, her father found solace in the stars, and loves them.
In turn, she loves them too.
Starting in the summer after sophomore year, Dee started to work as a lifeguard at the pool facility close by their home. Once school started, Dee had to stop, but she would definitely continue after the school year was over.
Other than that, Dee had volunteered at a few places, but didn’t have a job. The only other thing close to that was how she teaches kids to skateboard, but that isn’t something that Dee charges for.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Looks;
Dee has a similar face shape to her father - they both have strong chins, with softer jawlines, and gentle looking faces. Nikolai swears she has her mother’s eyes, though, something that was unapproachable yet beautiful, with their steel blue-gray color, and piercing gaze.
A lot of things about Dee are similar to her mother - both are strong women, who do not let anyone boss them around. They are both bold and courageous, and grab life by the horns.
She got her mother’s height too, standing at 5’9 - eye-level to Nickolai - at only 16, with the likely promise of growing taller as well.
Dee carries herself with confidence, and takes that into her appearance. She switches style from day to day - chains one day to a cow-print bucket hat the next, and her father loves that she is so free with expressing herself.
Her hair is curly, much like Nikolai’s, with her natural color being a light brown. Currently, though, it was a bold and bright neon green, cut into a short mullet, with micro-bangs.
There are a few piercings as well that decorate Dee - which is a septum and multiple piercings in her ears. Nikolai has convinced her not to get a tattoo for now, saying that she should really be sure before getting one.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Personality/Fun Facts;
Dee loves her, albeit strange, family. She is protective as hell of her little brothers, and strangely enough, of her father as well.
Nikolai does well by all of them, and Dee finds it to be the least that she can do is respect her decisions. He is always willing to talk something out, and never gets snappy, even if Dee is purposefully pushing all his buttons, trying to get a rise out of him.
Whenever that happens, Nikolai always suggests taking a few minute breather, to rein in their emotions, then come back to the conversation. Sometimes it is almost aggravating how understanding he is, when all Dee wants to do is scream and have someone scream back.
That wasn’t how it worked in their household, though. At least, not with Nickolai.
Like most teens, Dee has gone through rebellious and angry phases and moods, and it seems that her father always knows just what to do, and even when he doesn’t, he is able to keep his bearings and solve the problem.
The point is, Dee loves her father. She is grateful for all he has done, and the freedom and trust he places in her. His rules are easy and simple enough, so Dee follows them.
And that is that.
⛤⛤⛤
Dee has always called Nikolai Папа - which is Russian for dad. It had been one of her first words, as that was what Nikolai had always called him - Папа - and it stuck.
⛤⛤⛤
Dee was also the one to name the family dog - something Nikolai always mentions, a teasing smile on his face. Their little 10 year old shelter dog - a jack russell something - was named Triceratops, having been adopted when Dee was 7, smack in the middle of her dinosaur obsession.
Tops had immediately decided that Nikolai was his favorite, much to little Dee’s dismay, although it didn’t stop her from adoring the small dog.
Their newest dog - named by Viktor - almost has a worse name, which is something that makes Dee is very happy.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Extra;
Currently, Dee is in a relationship with a guy named Jesse. The two are almost polar opposites, with Dee being chaotic, loud, and a risk taker.
Jesse is… soft. He plays video games, and volunteers at the dog shelter (Dee sometimes goes with him) and likes to stay in and snuggle while Dee would rather go out and do something.
The two work well together, and Dee honestly couldn’t be happier with Jesse. He was a good guy, and good friend, and likes him even when he calls her “tater” - something no one else could possibly get away with.
⛤⛤⛤
In her free-time, Dee either spends time with Jesse, skateboarding, swimming, watching her younger siblings, or watching old movies with her dad.
⛤⛤⛤
Unlike Nikolai, Dee doesn’t have many allergies, although she does have a severe one to fish and shellfish. Luckily, no one in the house likes seafood enough to miss it.

➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Name;
Michael Elliot Smith
“Elliot” to everyone
“Mitchie” to Miranda
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Age;
10
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Gender;
Male
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Occupation;
Michael - who goes by Elliot - doesn’t have a job. He is only ten, after all.
Instead, Elliot is in elementary school - fifth grade to be exact. He is a bright young kid, but both Miranda and Nikolai make sure not to put pressure on him to be perfect. They aren’t worried about Elliot being the smartest kid ever - they just want him to be happy.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Looks;
Elliot is smaller than most of the people in his grade at 4’2. Since he is not Nikolai’s biologically, he does not look anything like his legal father. Instead, he looks very similar to his blond haired mother.
Michael is very fair skinned, with thick, pale blond hair. He also has striking, dark blue eyes. Freckles are scattered everywhere across his face.
Elliot has small features, and since he is still young, he is yet to really grow into his face. He has a soft and round chin and jawline, with large ears that stick out from his head.
He has a small frame, with thin shoulders and a lightweight body.
⛤⛤⛤
While Dee favors bright and exciting clothes that express her style - Elliot is 10. He wants to run, and jump, and play games. All he cares about in clothes is that he can get them dirty, although he does like the color green.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Personality/Fun Facts;
Elliot was only one when he first met Nikolai, and was three when the man officially adopted him. He got attached very early on, and since he doesn’t remember his biological father, he calls Nikolai his dad instead.
Unlike Dee, though, he doesn’t call Nikolai “Папа” and instead just calls him “Dad.
⛤⛤⛤
Elliot has tried out a few different sports in the past year or so, and decided on swimming as something that he really likes. He doesn’t compete yet, but has expressed interest in doing so in the future.
Normally he is with Miranda for his swim lessons - which is a club sport he does after school for half an hour Monday-Thursday. If he happens to be with Nikolai, though, Nikolai will take off of work in order to get him there.
(Dee has her license, but he isn’t quite comfortable with letting her drive with just Elliot in the car yet. To be fair, Dee isn’t either.)
⛤⛤⛤
Although he lives with Miranda, Elliot also has a bedroom at Nikolai’s, although it is shared with Viktor. His half of the room has clothes and toys already there, along with some of his books, too.
Since he tends to be an early riser, like Nikolai, oftentimes he and his dad will sit on the couch together and watch cartoons in the morning while Dee and Viktor are sleeping - Elliot with his hot chocolate, and Nikolai with his coffee.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Extra;
While Miranda and Nikolai were married, they got another shelter dog together, along with Tops, who had been Dee’s dog since she was seven.
Viktor was two at the time, and since he was the youngest, he got to name the dog, which he promptly named “Shoe.” However, Elliot had been the one to pick Shoe out, and was the one who took on the primary care of the dog, since he had wanted one the most.
(Elliot was 7 at the time, and really wanted a dog that he could run around and play with. He had done all of the research, and they adopted a medium sized, short haired mutt. Luckily, Shoe doesn’t shed.)
Shoe lives with Miranda and Elliot, although when Elliot comes over, he often brings Shoe with.

➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Name;
Viktor Martin Pavlishchev
“Vitya” to Nikolai, Dee, Michael, and Miranda
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Age;
5
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Gender;
Male
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Occupation;
Currently, Viktor is just starting school by going to kindergarten. He likes to make friends, and often comes home chattering about his day and who he talked to. Nikolai always encourages it.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Looks;
Viktor is 3’5, which is about average height for a five year old. His eyes and hair bear a striking resemblance to Nikolai, while he has Miranda’s smile and chin.
Viktor has a curly mop of brown hair, which is long and shaggy. He has Nikolai’s same, dark brown eyes, and the odd sharpness to his face that really little kids seem to have. Viktor is a bit of a burly child, compared to Elliot’s stick figure, with meaty hands that are almost always grabbing something he (probably) shouldn’t.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Personality/Fun Facts;
Viktor is a curious kid. He is always asking “why” and watching everyone around him. He also has a very hyperactive imagination, and often tells his dad that he “talked to dragons today” and the like.
He could basically say anything and Nikolai, Dee, or Elliot will just nod along.
⛤⛤⛤
Viktor is slow when it comes to school - then again, he just started - but while Dee learned to read really early on, Viktor is still struggling. That is okay, though, and Nikolai remains patient, and reads to him every night, and helps when asked.
It is a bit of a tradition for Viktor to pick out a book for Nikolai to read to him before bed, while sitting in the rocking chair in his bedroom (that he shares with Elliot when Elliot is over).
⛤⛤⛤
Viktor calls Nikolai “Папа,” like Dee, and knows a few simple Russian words, since Nikolai occasionally teaches his kids it.
⛤⛤⛤
Hilariously enough, Viktor nearly worships the ground the Dee’s boyfriend - Jesse - walks on. When Jesse comes over, there is a very good chance that Viktor can be found sitting on Jesse’s lap, or following him around. He also tends to mimic him as well, so whenever he is over, Jesse is very conscious about what he says and does.
(He adores Viktor too, though, and is the only person outside of Viktor’s nuclear family to call him Vitya.)
⛤⛤⛤
Luckily, Viktor is an easy-going kid (for the most part). Like everyone does, he has his temper-tantrums, but with Nikolai’s gentle and keen temperament, they are able to solve the issues together.
➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸➸
Extra;
While both Dee and Nikolai’s middle names are part of their Russain heritage, Nikolai compromised with Viktor’s name. He wanted the name “Viktor” after his great grandfather, while Miranda wanted “Martin” for her brother.
So: Viktor Martin.
⛤⛤⛤
One of Viktor’s favorite activities is arts and crafts. He especially enjoys painting, and Nikolai’s house bears the proof of it. One wall in Viktor’s room is covered in painted handprints, although he is not allowed to do it anywhere else. (He hadn’t been allowed to do it in the first place, but sometimes, things happen, and then you have to go from there.)

Although he is a literal alien, Nova does have a job, though it’s hardly a human one and to most of the human population it doesn’t look like he has a real job. His cover story is that he’s a gardener, which isn’t exactly a lie because he does have a garden in the back and he sells his flowers, herbs and vegetables at local flea markets occasionally.
Nova’s real job is actually a Portal Operator, a job bestowed upon only those who the Intergalactic Alien Alliance deems worthy. Nova, having wanted to become an operator from a young age, thoroughly enjoys his job and couldn’t ask for a better one. He is able to access millions of worlds through a set of twenty doors located in the basement of his Earth home.
Nova controls who comes and goes on his side of Earth, and although there are three other bases on Earth, he considers his job to be very important. Most days he is holed up within his home, though he is quite obsessed with Earth plant life, and if he isn’t inside he is outside tending to his garden. ⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜
Backstory:
Nova is an alien from the planet Iranvir, a planet much smaller than Earth. Nova’s family is way too big, and being the youngest out of 12 children resulted in him often being forgotten. Despite being practically ignored by his parents, Nova did his best to impress them, constantly studying and pushing himself to become top of his class. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain, even though he had done everything he set out to do, his parents still did not give him any praise or attention at all.
This resulted in Nova looking to the stars. His tiny planet didn’t seem big enough anymore, and the lack of other alien species made him even more interested in what was out there. After graduating top of his class, he traveled to the planet Nvaldrion, a planet dedicated to higher education and diversity. The transition from life on Iranvir to Nvaldrion was hard on Nova, he’d never been around so many aliens and he’d never been anything but perfect, which became a problem for him when school actually started challenging him. Nova was no longer interested in proving himself to his parents, and focused on doing what he wanted to do with life. This meant that he was focused on becoming a Portal Operator, and he wasn’t going to let anyone stop him.
That didn’t last for long.
In his fourth year of school, he met an alien from Jihux, they were stunning and nothing like him. For the past four years Nova had been focusing so much on school and proving himself to the Intergalactic Alien Alliance that he’d forgotten to actually have fun and live for himself. Lux, the alien from Jihux, forced Nova to become their friend. It didn’t take Nova long to give in to Lux and the duo became pretty much inseparable. They were constantly exploring Nvaldrion when Nova wasn’t studying. Despite his worst fears, Nova’s grades did not drop, they instead rose. Within the year he was getting more and more calls from the IAA about his future after education.
Although Nova hadn’t meant for it to happen, he caught himself slowly, slowly falling for Lux and their charm. Their witty comebacks and their insistent curiosity never failed to make Nova smile, and somehow Lux found Nova’s bumbling mannerisms and thirst for knowledge just as attractive. It didn’t take the two long to hop into a relationship, and over the following two years everything seemed just perfect.
That was until Lux disappeared.
Nova wasn’t quite sure what had happened, one day Lux was there and then the next everyone acted like they hadn’t existed. It wasn’t like Nova hadn’t noticed that there was something strange about Lux. Although they told each other everything, Lux always seemed to be hiding something, and didn’t speak about their past under any circumstances. Nova hadn’t minded it at the time, but when Lux suddenly disappeared he couldn’t help but wonder if it had something to do with their clouded past.
Time stops for no one though, and Nova, despite being distraught, still had things he wanted to do. So he continued his portal operator training, and by the end of his seventh year of education he had a job as a portal operator under the IAA, the youngest to ever get the job. Nova wasn’t a fully fledged operator yet, he was considered an apprentice even though he did most of the work. Despite that, Nova was very happy with his life.
A full year and a half later, Nova finally got word from Lux, though it was definitely not what he’d been expecting. At first, he hadn’t realized it was Lux at all, they looked nothing like they used to, their wild, unruly blonde hair had been cut short, and their golden piercings had all disappeared. Even their clothes were different, gone were the colorful patterns they’d once worn, instead it was replaced by a dull black and white tux. The most shocking bit was the blonde haired baby in their arms, and the big alien men behind them.
Nova didn’t get the explanation he deserved, everything had been so rushed and confusing. After being told the baby was his, and that Lux would never be returning again, the baby had been shoved into his arms and he’d been left alone to take care of her. He was lucky enough to receive child support, but he’d never wanted children, and although he found it in his heart to love his little girl, he never quite figured out a good parenting style. ⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜
Looks:
Due to the nature of Nova’s job, and the small minded brains of humans, he was given a transformation ring by his superiors. What does this mean? Well, because Nova is an alien and humans are one of the few remaining species that don’t know of alien life, Nova has to take on the body of a human. The ring, when activated, throws up a realistic hologram that alters Nova’s normal appearance and makes him seem human. Meaning that I have to take on the extra work of describing two different forms for Nova, (You can tell by my tone that I am very happy for this opportunity :) )) so, be prepared for more long stuff.
In his normal alien form Nova’s skin is a cornflower blue in color, with grey eyes that have slitted pupils. There are few species of aliens who actually have normal human hair, Nova is one of those. His hair is raven black, straight, and just brushes his shoulders. Most of the time, Nova’s hair is put back in a bun at the top of his head, since he much prefers it up and out of his way. Sticking out of his hair are two, long, pointed ears, a trait found in many different alien species. Both ears are adorned with earrings, courtesy of a dare from Lux. Despite not originally wanting them, Nova really couldn’t see himself without them.
Nova’s face is soft, with round cheeks, an average jawline, and a cute little button nose. Due to a combination of poor vision and color blindness, (something many Iranvirians have) Nova is required to wear his circular glasses at all times, these both restore his vision and allow him to see all colors properly. Alien tech is great.
The only thing relatively sharp about Nova are his canine teeth, which are longer than a human’s and prevent him from fully closing his mouth. They are not impractical considering Iranvirians’ main food is very tough and nothing like humans’.
Nova’s human form is very similar to his normal one, and does not have the dramatic changes his daughter does since he is a relatively normal looking alien compared to her. His skin is a warm beige in color, and tends to get a little darker as he is outside often (the holograms take everything into account when making an alien’s human appearance). Instead of his slitted, cat-like pupils, Nova has regular circular pupils. Despite this, they can accidentally go back to slits when he feels heavy emotions. His ears turn normal, as does everything on his body, and his hair remains the same.
WIP Definitely by no means finished and I am so sorry.

The move to Earth was possibly the hardest Nova had ever had to go through. Due to the planet being completely unaware about alien life, the moving process was much, much slower than normal. On top of that, he wasn't even allowed to bring his daughter until she passed a (pretty simple) test on human mannerisms and such.
Due to all of this, the day Nova moved in was stressful to say the least. Despite the fact that they could literally just teleport any items needs from his original home into the basement, they still had to move things with a moving company that ended up losing four of Nova's prized plants.
That being said, Nova wasnt having a great day.
By the time he was finally able to sit down, Nova was ready to just pass out on the couch and call it a day despite all of the unopened boxes littered throughout his new home.

It wasn't often that there was any excitement on XXX Street. There weren't any other kids on the street other than in the Pavlishchev household, meaning that someone moving in was a big deal.
Alexandria - better known as Dee - had been sitting on the curb for most of the day, watching the moving truck come and go.
When it finally pulled out for what seemed to be the last time, Dee hauled herself up from the curb and opened up the door to her home, "Папа!" She yelled loudly into the house, "The moving truck is gone! I think the new neighbor has finally settled in!"
"Alright! Come help me with the food in the kitchen"
Dee tromped inside, turning into the kitchen, which was right by the front door. Nikolai, her father, was pulling out a covered bowl from the refrigerator, and nodded towards the covered plate already on the island, "You grab the cookies," he directed.
With food in hand, both Pavlishchevs exited their house, and walked over to their new neighbor's. Dee knocked on the door, then stepped back, shifting from side to side as she (nervously) waited.
When Nikolai had seen that people were moving in today, he had whipped up a batch of cookies (homemade snickerdoodles) and a semi-large bowl of chicken orzo salad - something that could be eaten cold, in case they didn't have a way to heat anything up, yet.
Dee thought it was pretty thoughtful, and would be something she'd like if she was moving in somewhere, while she knew her father was hoping they weren't vegan, since their 'good neighbor' offerings definitely weren't vegan/vegetarian.

Despite their sudden appearance, Nova wasn't surprised by the neighbors at the door. He was well educated in human culture and would've been more surprised if they hadn't come over to offer him a greeting of some sort. Although he hadn't been expecting the neighbors to come over so soon, Nova supposed that he was ready to meet his first batch of humans, though his messy, unorganized home said much differently.
It was so messy in fact, that as he approached the door the man fell into it. The thud was audible on the other side and he swore several colorful curses under his breath as he finally managed to open the door, several strands of black hair falling into his face that he hurriedly pushed back only for them to return moments later as if they had a mind of their own.
"O-Oh, hello there," Nova gave the humans a lopsided grin, unsure if he was doing this right or not. Of course he'd been prepared for this day, but simulations were nothing compared to the real thing.
