This is how I sort of imagine the hideout/base for the rebellion to be: Light grey = Large training arena/training center Dark grey = Dragon stables Light brown = Barracks for riders separated by gender, the top is for males, and the bottom is for females. To sleep and get ready, there is a common area in the center of it. Dark brown = Meeting hall/Mess Hall/ On either side are offices for the high ranking. Tan = The homes for families in the rebellion that need refuge, are in hiding for a time or chose to work full time with the rebellion

Important links Discussion Sign-ups Initium Novum “A New Beginning” - Introduction The balance between war and peace was always a tricky one. The Kingdom of Estainia had walked the fine line for too long when a single human sent them spiraling into chaos. With the wish to tip the delicate balance in favor of the humans. War ensued between Humans and Dragons, and the violence between man and beast was unmatched, destroying many cities within the Kingdom, even bringing some of them to complete ruins. As the war came to a close, an uneasy tension still remained between humans and dragons, causing many of these magnificent beasts to retreat back to their world, and leaving very little remaining in ours. A particularly radical group arose, called themselves “Emundare Mundum”, which ruffly means “To Cleanse the World” in Latin. They had one goal in mind: to eradicate the dragon species as a whole. They wished to see an end to the remaining dragons after the violence many experienced in the war, many wanted revenge while others wished to reap the rewards of precious resources found in a dragon's horns and scales, creating a growing thirst for the ending of these creatures. And soon the group began growing violent towards those who opposed them. It had been nearly a decade since the war's end, giving the group time to rise to power, infiltrating the Kingdom of Estainia from the inside out. Little did this radical group know, but there was another rebel group growing inside Estainia, trying to bring peace to their Kingdom, and between the humans and dragons. And in the process, they discovered something great. Something beyond comprehensible by the Emundare Mundum. A connection unlike any other between dragons and humans. A link trigged from within by an emotional connection formed between man and beast. A bond. - Plot - Your character will become the first generation of Dragon Riders coming from the group rebelling against Emundare Mundum’s control, trying to bring peace to Estainia. This group is still young and has few, but growing members. They have only one bonded pair, as the process is not fully explored, and had really on happened by accident. The very first dragon and human pair that were bonded 6 months ago will be your guide, their job is to guide you during your post-bonding training, and grow your team. Together you will train to become a team, forming an elite society with that you will be able to take back your city and bring peace to Estainia for good. As well as restore the relationship between humans and dragons, so we can co-exist together again. - Sub Plots - More to come, not all will happen. Suggestions are welcome. - A member of Emundare Mundum infiltrates the group, pretending to be one of the rebels. They have the choice to continue their work as a spy or flip to the rebels' side. This may apply to the Guide of the group, or any new riders. - The grounds the riders are living on are attacked and destroyed, forcing the riders to find somewhere else to hide or retreat to the dragon's world. - There may be a member of the royal family that is among the dragon riders, however, it is unknown by the rest unless they chose to reveal themselves. The rest of the royal family is in hiding, but even they do not know where. - A rider is separated from their dragon and captured by the Emundare, and the outcome is undecided. - Bonding - The process of bonding with a dragon sounds quite simple, though when you break it down each individual bond is unique in its own way. In order to bond with a dragon your rider must experience any sort of very strong emotion, for example, this could be intense happiness or anxiety. However, this needs to be within the vicinity of the dragon who will bond with you. The dragon you bond with will tend to have similar qualities to you, whether they are apparent or not. Once these two variables come into play the bond will begin. The process itself causes the metal and emotional barrier between dragon and rider to break, allowing a few different things to occur. The language barrier between humans and dragons falls, so you can now verbally speak and understand each other. In addition to this, a telepathic link is formed allowing mental communication. As you strengthen your bond, the rider and dragon will begin to sense their counterpart's emotions without having to tell each other of them or see it in their counterpart's physical expressions. Eventually, it will get to the point where the rider and dragon will feel what the other is feeling. As an example, if the human feels pain, such as getting a cut on their arm, their dragon will feel this pain as well[and vice versa], even if it does not physically happen to them as well. There is a catch, because of this delicate connection, if either of the pair dies, so will the other. After the initial bond, you need to immediately start your first ride with your dragon. Recently there was a small influx of dragons in the city of Laford, where the rebel's home base is located, due to calling the dragons received. This is where the new rebellion members will go not knowing of the dragons waiting for them. Only those within a certain age group can bond. - About Estainia - The royal family is currently overthrown by the Emundare Mundum, and is hiding somewhere secrete. This RP is during Medieval times. Cities in Estainia The Capital: Erast [er-rah-st] - Emundare is based here Erast is known as a marketplace and is filled with homes. Streets are lined with cobblestone roads and buildings are all joined together, with only the streets separating them. The main marketplace is at the heart of the city, with many mobile carts set up in a circular pattern. Erast is known as "the city of color". This is where the heart of Emundare Mundum's operation occurs. Onaron [on-ah-ronn] This city is located to the west of Erast, it is on the ocean and the homes and businesses are spaced out. They are connected through dirt roads and the area is slightly forested, but not terribly. This city is breathtaking, with large bluffs lining the oceanside and crystal clear waters with fine white sand. LaFord [la-ford] - Rebelion hideout The city of LaFord is the most forested of Estainia's cities and is used for hunting. Not many people live in this city, though there are many shops which are frequently visited by people from Onaron. Many jewels, which are mined and polished from the city of Keta are sold here. This is where the rebellion resides. Deep in the forest is where the training center and hideout are. Keta [Ket-ah] Keta is south of Onaron and west of Laford, this city is on the coast as well, and takes advantage of the large bluffs overlooking the ocean. Here is where various small mines are opened, the ground beneath this city is rich with precious metals. - About Initium Novum - Initium Novum means "A new beginning" and it is the name of the dragon's home. This is where all dragons are from, and where most have returned after the war with the humans. IN. consists of a bunch of floating islands, to high for humans to see or reach, however dragons who cant fly are still able to reach it through various means. No human has been brought to or has seen IN, yet there may be a first soon.

- First post information - Post with the heading: Name | Age | Gender | Role | Mentions For dragons add your class as well. *Once you bond with your dragon it should lose any instinct to harm you, however, this does not mean these creatures will immediately like their riders It is mid-day, and the weather is fair. The sun is out and there is a slight breeze. For Dragons and Riders: Everyone has made their way to the city of Laford for one reason or another, some have already pledged themselves to the new rebel group, soon to be named Initium Novum, or "A New Beginning" after the dragons home, while others have finally sought out the group and wish to swear allegiance to them. As for dragons, they have been waiting around the forests and streams throughout Laford due to an instinctive calling they have felt. Despite if everyone has officially joined the alliance or not, they should all be relatively close, some may be traveling together, or might stumble upon each other. The humans these dragons will pair with will be like an active beacon, the dragons will know where to find their human. Your first posts may contain your rider searching for the rebel group, your dragon finding their human, and the bonding process between dragon and rider beginning. Anyone who has already sworn allegiance to the rebellion has been given a clue on where to find it, and if they reach it before bonding then they should be greeted by a member currently at the hideout. Otherwise, the Guide and their dragon will bring the new riders to the hideout. The Guide and their dragon: The Guide and the Guides dragon can be flying around and surveying the new riders. They should stay out of sight until after the bonding process occurs, though they should intervene after the fact to direct the bonded pair to the safe house where the rest of the rebellion is staying. Your first post can contain any of this. - Active sub-plots - - There is a member of the royal family that is among the dragon riders, however, it is unknown by the rest unless they chose to reveal themselves. The rest of the royal family is in hiding, but even they do not know where. Any questions/clarifications can be posted in the discussion or PM'ed to me! Edited at January 20, 2023 12:58 PM by Ciao

Rhys Redek | 19 | Male | Rider | M: The Rebellion Rhys had been traveling since sun up. His trek from Onaron had been on foot, however, it had only taken him a few short days to reach the forested city of LaFord. He swore an oath of fealty to the rising rebellion before his trip and had been given clues to the whereabouts of their hideout. Now here he was, pushing through thick brush, small thorns snagging on his clothing and little burrs peppering his pants. The details of the hideout were vague, and all he knew was its potential direction. The wind licked his exposed ankles and ruffled his blond hair as he walked through an open patch of forest, relieved to not have to fight his way through an area so heavy with brush. Rhys was regretting his choice of attire, with a pair of too-short boots and a thin black jerkin. Reaching to his side, the boy slipped his hand inside his shirt to unholster a small knife, using it to slash at the brush in front of him, in a feeble attempt to detangle himself from the buckthorn branches he had stumbled into. After struggling Rhys wrestled himself free, letting loose a string of curses as his shirt untucked and snagged on a thorn, producing a little hole in its side. Brushing himself off, he peered up through the dense canopy above him to look for the sun, and with no such luck he turned back to the trees. Stomping over to the nearest one he ran a hand lightly over its rough bark, and onto the tree's cool mossy side, signaling to him the direction he was facing. He was told, and so he believed, that moss only grew on the north side of a tree, despite if it was a myth or not, he found the tip helpful. It had gotten him this far already. He started off in the direction he presumed to be further south, having come through the Capital of Erast, north of LaFord, a risky but time-saving move compared to any other route Rhys could have traveled. The location of the rebellion's hideout was unknown, though he was told he would be greeted by someone once he grew close enough. Surveillance was kept around the outside of the hideout, so someone should hopefully notice his arrival as he reached the area. He also got wind that there should be other recruits in the area, hopefully stumbling upon them would further aid him in his search for the hideout. Rhys let his mind go blank as he continued moving south, but soon his thoughts strayed, and he began daydreaming. He had gotten wind of a strange rumor on his way south, though it had been confirmed when he had been re-directed to the hideout by a member of the rebellion. Two words. Dragon Rider. The thought sent a chill down his spine, the creatures had fascinated him for as long as he could remember, and now there was the possibility to ride one?! Just the thought had him quickening his pace. A sigh escaped his lips at the thought, besides joining to help bring the Emundare Mundum down, he was also here to see if they still had his father alive. Rhys felt his face become red, burning with shame, as his reason for joining had been replaced with his personal longing to become a dragon rider. The thought was unreasonable, and deep down he knew it, just because someone else had been able to do what everyone else could not, did not mean he would be able to do the same. However, he did have a flicker of hope, deep down. Rhys stopped at a bubbling creek, a small thing, trickly through the woods, it was a relief to hydrate and re-fill his flask before continuing on. The journey should take much longer. He hoped.

Jasper Sterling | 16 | Female | Rider | M: Rebellion - Jasper's legs ached, she's been making her way to LaFord to be a dragon rider! Just imagine, Jasper on a dragon! It's a wish come true, plus she can free herself from her nasty stepmom. Honestly, things couldn't be better. She pulled herself up a hill with the tiny breakfast she had a few hours ago. Bits of eggs were still stuck in her teeth, well at least she doesn't have to worry about being hungry. Jasper giggled to herself. The sun felt warm on her back and the salty air had a slight, fresh breeze to it. She yawned and turned around to take one last look of the beautiful city of Onaron, her heart fell. She hasn't told her father about anything, she snuck out while he slept. Yes, she knew he will worry about her, but if she told him or her stepmom they wouldn't have let her go. Her stepmom would have kept her there out of pure spite, but her father... wouldn't want her to get hurt. But Jasper was grown up now, she is ready to see the world. Looking down in her hand was a dragon tooth necklace that was given to her from her mother. Oh how she missed her mother, even though she died when Jasper was a young child. "Goodbye father... goodbye mother," Jasper whispered, "I am free now."
A smile slowly inched across Jasper's face, that's right, she's free now. Her head turned to face the direction of the small city of LaFord, she sprinted down hill leaving Onaron behind her. The feeling of joy was great inside her, but so was anxiety. But she ignored her small fears like: What if I get lost? Or What if I die? The best thing Jasper could do is keep her head up and let fate decide.

Corin Wren - 18 - Male - Rider - Mentions: N/A
Corin was tiring, his legs ached from the long days of walking and his stomach was panging with hunger. But he kept moving, step after step on hurting feet. His normally light gait was replaced by a slightly heavier one, speaking of weariness; a testament to the few days of hard traveling he had taken. There was a slight frustration at himself for it, after all, he had been doing well up until today, until his energy started to lag. But he knew this irritation was unreasonable, he probably should have taken more rest periods and not have been on his feet from sunup to nighttime, it was only natural that that kind of travel would catch up to him.
It was when he finally stumbled and nearly ran right into a tree trunk that he decided it was an appropriate time to stop and let himself rest for a short time. With the knowledge that there could be other people around, ones who may not like the appearance of someone who had not sworn loyalty to their cause, and the caution of being in a new area, he decided the best resting place would be up. Backing up a few steps to get a better start, as the lowest branch of the tree was a little above his head, he stopped and took a deep breath. On the exhale, he ran at the tree, and when close enough, pushed off the ground in a leap. His hand caught the sturdy branch, and he quickly hauled himself up, straining against the starting burn of overexertion. And then he was off, choosing a path and picking out the strongest limbs and climbing higher. After he was roughly halfway up the tree, he found a good place to rest, and he pulled himself onto the branch and ever so carefully rested his back against the trunk. There he stayed for a minute, breathing rapidly from the action of climbing, eyes closing as he tipped his head back and let it rest against the rough bark.
After he had caught his breath, the young man opened the small bag he carried, and took out the last piece of bread he had. As he nibbled on the food, he kept alert for anything that heralded an approach. At some point, a stick snapped, but after a brief pause and taking into account that the forest creatures were still active, he decided it was nothing to worry about. If everything had gone silent, then that would have been worrying. As he let his thoughts wander, he finished the baked food and slowly stretched out his legs, they were a bit stiff, but the ache had gone for now, and he felt a little better after the break. He remained in the tree for several more moments, enjoying the slight breeze that kicked up, and the light of the sun at mid-day; and his thoughts wandered to a rumor that had been lingering in his memory ever since he heard it. He had heard of a dragon rider, he had no way of knowing how true it was, but even the thought inspired a little spark of excitement in his chest; for what, he didn't know. He hadn't a hope of even being a dragon rider, if such a thing was even possible, it was still a rumor. But even the most outlandish whispers carried a thread of truth, and so it was something to think about.
After deciding it was probably a good idea to start moving again, the young man stood up, keeping himself as still as possible as he did so. He carefully turned and accessed the branch a little below him, before with a practiced movement, jumped. He landed near the trunk, a foot almost slipping off the limb before he steadied himself with a pounding heart, he had done this before, but it was always a bit nerve-wracking when preformed. The rest of the trip downwards went without excitement, and soon he was safely on the ground and looking around at his surroundings. Making doubly sure nothing was lurking, before setting off again at a steady walk, feeling a bit refreshed from the bit of food and rest. Edited at January 20, 2023 08:24 PM by the Wayne pack
