@Ollie

I love it! The eyes really pop in the design and the shading is so smooth! I can't really see much to fix without being too nit picky since it's somewhat of a more sketchy design with the lineart

I have this issue as well. Frontal view is hard, especially the muzzle. It's all about symmetry. Try copying a few references to get a feel of it first, then do it on you own.

I don't want to copy anything. I know it's about symmetry, I just need tips and visual examples I can observe and learn from.

Hm.. Then depending on what dog breed you're trying to draw first, get an anatomy reference sheet and slowly get used to the body build of that dog breed. Once you get used to one, you can start trying out different unique things. Like floppy ears, a long furred pelt, etc.

You just gotta be really patient with learning it though, otherwise you'll get frustrated. Also, be light with your hand when drawing, if you go too dark you won't be able to erase it that well.

So an idea is to make them more squared off for side view. Front one comes a little over the bottom, too. Just like you're doing. Just make them more square. Look at a german shepherd for a good example of this.

They need to be more square like boxes? Mind elaborating?

Shapes. I always draw staring with shapes. Circles for the head, chest, and hip.
