When to use raven feather?

I tried to use raven feathers on two different wolve, but I guess it did not work.

I click on use item.

I don't get a message your wolf feels xyz.

The feathers do not disapear from the relic hole.

There is no raven feather entry in the stats.

What do I do wrong? Is there a certain time frame when you can use them?

You can only use them when your wolves are over aged 15.
