Ever

Male

Ever is on the small side as males go, but that dosent mean he doesn't have a big heart or dosent know how to fight. His main color is white but he has various black markings on his body. His tail fin along with the frill on his back is black. His horns are black and he has some black spots on his nose area. His left leg is splotched with black up until his knee. For his right leg, he has a splotch of black that starts on his thigh but covers some of his side as well. Lastly, he has two black splotches on each top wing and also his whole right under wing is black. On his right wing, the splotch is by his shoulder and on the left, it's on the bottom. For Ever's eyes, he actually has heterochromia eyes. His left eye is teal and his right is a sky blue.

Uri lay in her cave off the coast of bone beach, smelling the ocean breeze and a fresh carcass as she started to wake. She opened her eyes and looked around her cave, it was illuminated by the bioluminescent lichen that covered the walls. With a huff she raised her head to get up and stretch, opening her large mouth with a big yawn. She glanced towards the exit of her cave and with a deep sigh she mozied her way over, before looking at the view.

Her cave entrance faced the northeast, she could watch the sunrise, and the breeze coming from the ocean on the west wasn't bad and she didn't have to worry about the strong breezes from the south. It was perfect for raising hatchlings, if she ever found a mate to have them with. The thought of not finding a mate scared Uri, as some females never find a mate. Sure, Bone Beach is a hot spot for dragons, but it's rare to see a dragon of her size coming for scraps on the beach. Normally they can catch food for themselves easily, but her problem was that she was light and built for speed. She wasn't a heavyweight, so her best option is scraps.

Her diet comes with benefits though, she has a high tolerance to bacteria, parasites, and sickness because her body has already fought most of them off at some point in her life.

She jumped off her cliff after enjoying the morning sun and headed towards the beach for what smelled like a whale carcass. she was pleased to see her nose was correct, the only others picking on the carcass were smaller dragons of different species. She did notice an adolescent male of her species making its way down the beach looking for scraps. He saw the carcass she was eating and almost bounded towards it, that was until he saw her bright pink against her black scales. The smaller male froze as her eyes were dead on him as she ate. She was twice his size, and he still had a few years to go until he matured enough to even be considered a possible mate. Uri took her eyes off him since he was clearly scared and his ribs were showing. She just focused on eating as the small male slinked up to the carcass at the end farthest away from her and started to tear off chunks. If it was another female she would have gone after them right away. She didn't attack him just for the sake of a male knowing where she was, and if he made it to adulthood he would be a contender. When she finished she backed off and raised her wings, heading for a lake to get water, it was never smart to drink the salt water unless you grew up living on it.

Once she landed at the water she waded in as she began to drink, quietly making her way in. Mainly so she could clean the blood off her snout and preen the scales on her back and the small number of feathers on her underside, meant for incubating eggs.

She was distracted with preening herself, forgetting about her surroundings. She was large enough that most creatures wouldn't attack her, so the only thing she paid attention to was the smells around her.

I don't expect you to type this much, just a starter to work off of.

Ever was fast asleep, until his younger brother decided to be annoying anyway. The younger male pounced on the older, hoping to entice his brother to play. However, Ever was just strong enough to keep his ground. He let out a warning growl, not being in the mood to play right now. The younger male let out an apologetic noise before backing off. Ever watched his younger brother for a while before turning his focus onto cleaning his wounds. Just two weeks ago, him, his mom and his younger siblings were living happily on a island close to here. His father had died protecting his family and Ever kinda just ended up taking his place as protecter. Except he was on the smaller size, so when a threat did come, he wasn't able to protect them properly. His mother managed to escape with one of his siblings and he was able to save one. But sadly one of them died to the hands of their attackers.

Ever sighed as he finished cleaning his wounds. He would need to get his brother some food soon, but he wasn't sure how to get it. He couldn't hunt right now in his condition and his brother wasn't big enough to hunt very well yet. His mom had told him there was an island somewhere close that held alot of scraps. She had told him if anything were to go wrong, to go there for shelter. Except, Ever had run away blinded by fear, so he had no idea where he was at the moment. Still, he should probably go out and try to get a grip of where they were. Ever cautiously existed the cave he had found and looked around into the daylight. Just then his younger brother once again tried to pounce on him, basically asking if he could come too. Ever sighed but let the youngster tag along.

It didn't take long for the two brother's to reach a beach. And with the beach came the smell of food. The younger brother immediately perked up and began running ahead. Ever called him back but his brother didn't listen. He was too blinded by hunger to be cautious and listen to his brother. As they neared the carcass, Ever did his best to hide himself. Hopefully, if anything dangerous was there, they would show his brother mercy since he was so young. And if they did attack, Ever would be his brother's secret backup. In the end, everything worked out. There were only smaller dragons and one female of his species. The female caught his attention, but he was a bit too hungry to go after her right now. Besides, he couldn't leave his brother.

Uri sat in the water and preened herself, trying to get the smell of blood off of her. She didn't want to accidentally lure something into her cave, she smelt deer or a prey animal. Making her raise her head as she realized the breeze was coming from the other side of the lake. She just kept preening ignoring the smell as the deer approached the water. It took them a bit to notice her but they paid her no mind, she didn't understand why. She could only guess it was because she doesn't hunt them.

She got up and shook herself dry, as she had to let her underbelly feathers dry in the sun before she could go back to her cave. So she found herself a nice patch of grass and lay on her side, her stomach facing the rising sun so it hit her perfectly. With a sigh, she lay her head down but listened to the sounds around her more acutely.

It was a calm morning despite her first little encounter, she lay there in her thoughts. She started thinking about her father back in the ice colony, wondering how he was doing. She wondered if he finally found himself another mate after her mother didn't even try to raise her.

sorry this is a bit short, my brain went "nope" and threw out a couple of brain cells

After both brother's were full, Ever sniffed the air. He was hoping to catch the sent of the female, though he was sure that was highly unlikely. The island was okay, but it didn't seem like a good place to have hatchlings. In other words, the female probably had just been passing by and was gone now... Or not. Just then, Ever actually smelt the female. He immediately perked up, looking around and wondering what to do. His instincts as a grown male were to go after the female. But his brother instincts told him to focus on his brother. In the end though, his male instincts won and he decided to go after the female. He grunted at his brother, telling him to stay here. Ever then began following the sent he had caught. His wings were a little sore so he just decided to run instead of fly.

After a while, the male finally spotted the female and not to mention a delicious looking deer. Even though it would have been nice to hunt, Ever quickly forgot about the prey animal and instead focused on the female. She was laying by a lake, most likely listening to her surroundings. But Ever was probably far enough away that she wouldn't have heard him. The male hesitated as he watched the female below. He knew he was a runt, and he knew most other in his species could tell. What if she rejected him like the other two female's had? Ever shook his head, clearing those thoughts away before cautiously making his way down the hill that he was on and towards her.

Urimenor heard the grass behind her move a bit, making her immediately lift her head, as whatever it was sounded large. She was a little shocked to see a male bigger than the one on the beach but the two looked somewhat similar. She quickly got on her feet as she looked him up and down, accessing him.

He was on the smaller side, yet he had his adult colors and no camouflage. The only assumption she could make was he either had a defect, or he was a runt. He was mainly black and white, which didn't stand out. She didn't know what to think, he was the only mature male she had seen, but he didn't have the best traits either. She was tempted to just fly off to avoid him as she didn't know what to do. She didn't take her eyes off him as she tried to watch how he carried himself. That would give a hint about his personality.

She was distracted for a split second by the sound of water splashing from where the deer was. They were all running and one was on the ground with something sticking out of it, blood spilling into the water. she quickly went into the trees and tried to hide her scales. Ignoring the male at the moment, as her focus was on the possible threat since humans were the only ones who used such tools.

An Adult male human walked out of the woods and two younger males followed behind, one of the younger ones seemed like it was almost an adult and the smallest looked like an adolescent. With a sigh she left the timber and back into the clearing, not seeing them to be as much of a threat. But this seemed to catch their attention as a smaller but dead tree cracked since she accidentally bumped into it with her tail.

Ever immediately froze when the female lifted her head. He cocked his head to one side and let out a friendly noise. He was nervous, but also very curious about this gorgeous female. She was by far the most attractive female he had ever seen. Since he was so focused by the female, he didn't even realize that humans had approached until the deer started to scatter. Ever immediately turned his attention to the potential danger, trying to assess the situation. Was he really in danger and needed to run or would the humans just leave when they saw two huge dragons? Seeing that it seemed to be a human family, he immediately softened his gaze. The smallest human reminded him of his brother, even if they had nothing in common at all. Then the second oldest was him and the oldest was his mother, even if the human was a male and his mother was obviously a female.

Once the all the deer had ran off, the humans finally noticed the two dragons. The older one seemed wary but not terrified, the middle one seemed focused on the female and the little one looked horrified. Ever realized the little one was shaking and trying not to cry. He felt bad for scaring the kid but there was nothing he could do. Since the family didn't seem like a threat Ever turned to see what the female was doing. Normally the male would've grabbed the dead deer and ran away but with the female here, he couldn't just leave. He wanted, no needed to stay with this gorgeous female. With those words in mind, Ever waited for the female's move.

Uri was still cautious, not exactly knowing what to do. Because if she was to come across another male after this one became her partner the only option would be to leave her home and find another or if another male beat this male in a battle over her. She was extremely conflicted, pausing she let out a sigh. She weighed up the pros and cons in her head and decided if he managed to court her she would accept him as her mate. She only hoped that another male would come along and she wouldn't have to leave her home. That or if they managed to have hatchlings that they would take after her side more.

She let out a huff, clear she wasn't exactly amused but with some leeway showing he could try and persuade her through courtship. With that she lay back down as her feathers still weren't dry, it was becoming a pain since the lake was so active.

One thing she managed to notice is that they are around the same size but he is slightly smaller.

The humans on the other side of the lake caught her attention again and she paid more attention to them. Looking at the little one just made her want hatchlings of her own more. It was smaller and scared but if she tried to go comfort it, it would just terrify the poor thing more. The older of the young males seemed to have the guts to try and walk around the lake to get closer. The Adult seemed to be quietly yelling at him but he paid no mind, I didn't see a blade big enough on his to penetrate my scales and if he got too close I could just roll on my stomach to hide my softer underside.

Ever watched the female closely, taking in her beauty. He did make sure to listen to the humans just in case but they were more interested in the deer. Which was good because he could focus on the female and winning her over. Once the female decided he could try and persuade her, Ever smiled and his eyes lit up. Maybe he actually had a chance! Ever sat down, thinking way to hard on how to impress her. Not that it was particularly noticeable but he was slightly injured and couldn't hunt properly. And it's not like he could show off his looks because he was pretty much lacking in that. The only thing that really stood out about him was his beautiful shining eyes.

Just then the middle human caught Ever's attention. If the male didn't know better, it would seem as if this puny human wanted the female for a mate. Ever shook that thought from his head and stood up. He positioned himself in between the female and the human as much as he could and gave the human a big glare. There was no way that human would ever be close enough to see her beauty properly if Ever had anything to say about it. The male even went so far as to growl at the human when he didn't stop walking or even hesitate. The growl did make the human hesitate but not as much as Ever would've liked. Ever then turned back to look at the female. Maybe she was liked getting protected? Ever looked at the female with hopeful eyes.
