Aw! Dachshunds are so cute and spunky! And I'll be sure to take it step-by-step. I know it's a long process (up to two years, apparently). But I think having the pup owner trained will help with the handler-dog bond as well.

The pup will be 8 weeks when I pick him up (it's through a professional breeder whose rep I checked thoroughly to avoid BYB), though I do plan on keeping up with any potty training that hasn't been completely established.

Lol, I'll be training him to be an SD to maybe that'll keep him distracted from his natural chewy instincts. How does the name Janja (pronounced Yan-yah) sound?

Please note: This guide is for the old format in the forums. After the update, most of the problems that cropped up have disappeared. However, an updated guide for posting images can be found here

I saw a few people struggling with this, and instead of telling everyone over and over individually, why not create a guide?
I'm a bit of a tech nerd, so this worked out perfectly :')

I also did a board search and couldn't find anything like this, so away we roll.

1.) What is a broken image?

A broken image is a link that won't work. Sometimes a little sliced image ( "".jpg"" ) can appear to represent this. A broken image occurs when the line of coding is, well, broken, or unnecessary additions to the code like quotation marks mess it up.

2.) How do I fix a broken image?

Pretty simple, if you know what to do.

Firstly, get the damaged code and click on it. Don't copy or paste, just click it once to highlight it (turn it blue), and click it again to unhighlight it and edit the code.

NOTE: If you click on it once and backspace, you'll delete the entire line of code.

Anyway, here are some screenshots that will hopefully help you.

First, I go into PostImage ( https://postimg.cc )

And I decide I want to upload a picture of my puppy. So i do just that.

Be sure to use the direct link. The direct link is what you need to use for forums and avatars. There is another option for the Code, however, and that is called 'thumbnail for website'. What I suspect is that players are getting confused and wondering if they should use the thumbnail for website. Do not do this. If you copy and paste the direct link, the coding should work fine.

Now, I have 'accidentally' used the thumbnail for websites and this is the code I get:

As you can see, those little 'a's are breaking the long line of code. Therefore, if I search this up, this is what I get:

So, to fix it, all you have to do is remove everything outside the Code;

Or, choose the direct link in future, to save yourself the time.

I hope this helped!

Don't be afraid to post any additional questions you have below - it will help me add to this Guide.

[adding to this in the future.]

Sorry if you were going to post something else after this, but I thought I'd just pop in and add something on!
Whenever you're pasting the direct link into the 'Message' box, make sure to hit 'Remove Code'. This should prevent the link from becoming broken in the first place.

New post (I'm sorry to bump this, but what with the avatar update some people should know)

Often people want to centre their image for a nice, polished look.

But oftentimes, the image ends up broken. Like so.

This is because the code for centre won't allow for the link to show up if it doesn't have some sort of formatting on it. So what you should do in this case is bold the link using the 'B' square near your reply box.

(C) 181238

And the image appears.

(This goes for both bio and forum coding!)

^ I hate bolded links.
So often times I'll just center the image manually:
<*center> {IMAGE LINK} <*/center>

Good to know, I didn't realise there was another way of doing it. ^^
