You cannot delete your account. I believe basic accounts delete after 6 months of inactivity and premium accounts are after a year (I could be wrong as the rule's been changed).

This. Only it's two years for premium accounts now.

You have to wait for the account to get deleted. Also, I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to say you're quitting, but I could be wrong.
