Recently a new tattoo place opened near where I live, and I really like their stuff so I've been interested in going. I've never gotten a tattoo before so I've been a little hesitant, but I saw that they were doing team-up specials so you could get a deal if you came with a friend. I thought that that would be great for me, so I message my sister to see if she'd want to get one with me. She didn't seem all that interested so I left it alone. I wasn't going to pressure her into it or anything like that.
But then she messaged me asking if I could babysit while she and her boyfriend went and got tattoos. She said that we could go and get tattoos together too since "I don't really have anyone else to go with that she knows of."
My first reaction to this was to be pissed. Not because she's going with her boyfriend, but because I feel like she's only going with me because she feels bad and not because she wants to. She's acting like I'm just overreacting but I don't think she understands how this is coming across from my perspective. I have bad anxiety so yes, I'd really want someone to do it with me the first time, but only if they want to. If I think that someone is only doing something with/for me because they feel like they absolutely have to and not because they want to, it makes me feel 1000 times worse.
I don't know. I'm just frustrated and anxious as shit because she's making me second guess myself. All I wanted was a cute little tattoo.
