Name

Calder Byron Brooks

Name Pronunciation

Cahl-dar Bye-ruhn Brooc-s

Nicknames:

Cal, Brooky, Brock, Puppy(only for his team)

Gender

Male

Age

20

Appearance

Calder looks like the poster boy for an elite East Coast hockey program—the kind of guy who ends up on the cover of a college magazine not because he’s top of his class, but because he’s annoyingly photogenic. Tall, broad-shouldered, and lean in that deceptively strong, “I lift things for fun” way, he’s all golden-boy glow and athletic grace.

His hair is sandy blonde and always slightly messy, like he just took off his helmet and ran a hand through it. The kind of messy that girls assume means he just woke up like this—but, no. Cal’s got a routine. Products. The occasional mirror selfie. His hazel eyes are bright and wide, usually crinkled at the corners from laughter—or squinting against the sun on the ice rink. They’re warm until they’re not: every once in a while, they go distant, calculating, like he’s thinking way harder than he lets on.

He’s tanned year-round (he swears it’s just from outdoor practice) and usually dressed like a preppy catalog exploded in his locker. Think team-issued sweatpants with salmon shorts stuffed in his duffel, designer sneakers scuffed just enough to look “lived-in,” and an alarming number of pastel polos and vintage hockey tees. There’s always a backwards cap somewhere in the mix.

Personality

Cal is what happens when a golden retriever learns how to flirt. He’s got the charm, the enthusiasm, and the vibes of a boy who’s never really had to try—but tries anyway, just enough to keep people on their toes. He’s got the lazy drawl of someone who’s never been rushed and the grin of someone who’s gotten out of trouble more times than he can count. He’s not dumb, not by a long shot—he just prefers when people think he is.

He’s the guy doing donuts in a golf cart after practice, showing up late to class with a smoothie in hand, and lifting you off the ground in a hug like it’s nothing. He teases everyone, flirts without meaning to, and genuinely believes that “vibes” are more important than most things—including deadlines.

Calder thrives on team dynamics. He’s the locker room loudmouth and the group project liability. He plays wing or center (depending on the coach’s mood), always calls for post-game milkshakes, and somehow gets away with calling the ref “boss” or “chief” without getting benched.

Underneath the antics, he’s loyal, golden-hearted, and low-key sharp. He’s better at reading people than anyone gives him credit for—and if he ever does get serious, you’ll know. It’s rare, but when Calder dials in, he’s terrifyingly focused.

Voice & Accent*

Cal talks like a country club kid who went to hockey camp every summer: smooth, slightly nasal, with that laid-back East Coast polish. He drags his vowels a little, drops his "r"s when he's relaxed, and perks up with mock politeness when he's being a smartass. His voice is warm, flirtatious, and occasionally cracks when he’s laughing too hard.

Strengths

Team Player to a Fault: Cal is fiercely protective of his teammates and friends, and will throw hands if someone messes with them.

Deceptively Smart: He’s got a knack for strategy on the ice, and occasionally drops an academic insight that makes people go, wait, what?

Charismatic: People like Cal. Coaches, teachers, fans—he just has that golden aura.

Weaknesses

Terminally Vain: If he chips a tooth or messes up his hair before a game, he might actually cry.

Conflict-Avoidant: Calder will joke his way through tension, until it explodes into a very dramatic scene that involves thrown sticks or emotional breakdowns in the locker room.

Zero Impulse Control: Will say yes to dares, bets, and almost anything that involves being competitive as all get out.

Currently playing for BC

Appearance:

Personality:

❀༻° ┄─────

Strengths:

- Emotionally Intelligent/Deep Empathy/Understanding; As a rather empathetic person, it is easy for Adelaide to understand the emotions of others around her while being able to manage her own emotional health. She is firm with her boundaries, and while she may care for others, if they try to push her past those boundaries, she can just as easily shut them out of her life.

- Principled; Adelaide tends to have strong beliefs and values of her own, particularly when it comes to ethics. She considers lying to be morally wrong, and she makes a concerted effort not to deceive others, even when she could directly benefit from doing so.

- Creativity; This young woman embraces her creative side with impressive pieces of writing. That's often her way of communicating her feelings if she doesn't want to outright say them. She's always on the lookout for opportunities to express herself and think outside the box.

Weaknesses:

- Sensitivity to Criticism; Adelaide is often averse to criticism, especially if she believes that someone is challenging her most cherished principles or values. When it comes to the issues that are near and dear to her, people can often describe her as being easy to become defensive, dismissive, or angry.

- Reluctancy to Open Up; While the young woman values honesty and authenticity, she is also a very private person. She may find it difficult to open up and be vulnerable about her struggles, often not wanting to burden someone else with her issues. Unfortunately, when she doesn't ask for help, she may inadvertently hold herself back or create distance in her relationships.

- Avoidance of the Ordinary; Adelaide yearns to do extraordinary things with her life. But it's hard to achieve anything extraordinary without breaking it down into small, manageable steps. Unless she translates her dreams into everyday routines and to-do lists, she may struggle to turn her grand visions into reality.

Prone to Burn-Out; Adelaide's perfectionism and reserve leave her with few options for letting off steam. She can easily exhaust herself if she doesn't balance her drive to help others with necessary self-care and rest. Adding to this; Adelaide is known for biting off more than she can chew and often regretting it later on.
