| I once had an elderly pt that was so terrified of the needle itself that I agreed to prick myself with a separate sterilized needle & toss it out to convince her to have blood drawn XD |

| BuggyOs They'll likely ask you to repeatedly open+close your hand to get the blood pumping, and then hold your hand in a fist, or something similar. As for where they draw blood, it depends but for me it was just below the inside of my elbow. After, you'll probably have to hold a piece of gauze or tissue over the site as they can bleed for a lil bit! That was my experience anyway - I can't imagine it'll be too dissimilar though. I hope that helps some! :0 It'll be just fine, I'm sure. |

| Nurses are usually pretty understanding if you've never had blood drawn before - I'd make sure to let them know! It's a very quick process in my experience, and if you're nervous, looking away or talking to someone else can help. It's feels like a little scratch or pinch, and can feel a bit achy afterwards but that usually fades after about 10 mins or so! |

| I hated having to perform blood draws 'cause many people are caffeine pumped and especially the elderly it's hard to find the vein sometimes :') Glad I don't have to do it much now Iswitched professions |
