Winter's Wail
The wolves reside in a large Alpine forest, surrounded by mountain ranges with several rivers and streams running through providing fresh water year round. Small game like rabbits, squirrels and marmots scurry the grounds, while larger mammals like deer and mountain goats graze the plains and scale the mountains. The packs often compete with predators including Lynx, Brown Bears and other wolves for both food and territory.
Winter has been harsh, and food is scarce in the area. Often the hunters have had to travel over 50 miles to find a decent meal, and sometimes return with nothing. The wolves wait longingly for spring to come, in hopes of more abundant hunting. The packs in the area have been getting into fights more frequently, stressed from the harsh weather and limited food sources. They had never been very fond of each other, but circumstances have caused even greater tension between them. In order for them to survive, they must work together to get through the winter, or die with their pride. The Mountain Pack This pack’s territory consists of a large portion of mountain ranges. They mainly hunt Ibex, Deer, Mountain goats, and less frequently, hares. They are a more fierce and dominant pack, and very territorial. They don’t take kindly to trespassers. The River Pack This pack rules over the forest and a large portion of the rivers. They often fish and hunt rabbits, marmots and deer. They are a more docile pack, and less harsh with intruders. The Loners These wolves have no place in a pack, often from being banished or not having the courage to introduce themselves in fear of being rejected. Name: Daemon Age: 5 Gender: Male Weight: 140 lbs Appearance: Daemon is a beautifully dark colored wolf, with a lighter cream colored abdomen, cheeks, and legs. He also has brown highlights throughout his flank and around his ears. His sheer size and muscular figure make it quite apparent he’s the alpha male. His eyes are a piercing gold, striking fear in the hearts of those who dare get on his nerves. His pelt is a bit mangled in some areas from his battles, but they add to his powerful presence and make him seem that much more intimidating.

Personality: Growing up in the mountains, Daemon had to be fierce and fight for what he wanted to survive. He keeps the others in check and stops the fights when necessary, if he’s not in the mood to watch. He takes his position very seriously, doing whatever is necessary for the pack, and won’t let anyone stand in their way. Doesn’t accept intruders, and often sees them as a threat to his family. Behind his menacing demeanor is a kind-hearted wolf that cares more than he shows. However, one knows that kindness is a weakness, so he hides that part of him as best he can. Most have only seen his domineering side, which has helped keep the pack in check more than a few times. If they knew he had a soft spot, they might not accept him as their alpha anymore. Story: Born into the mountain pack, he’s acclimated to the harsh conditions of the area, and knows his pack-mates very well. When their old alpha got too weak to defend his position, he took his opportunity, knowing none of the other wolves would dare challenge him. Pack: Mountain Rank: Alpha Male Other: |

Name: Delta Age: 2 Gender: Female Weight: 75 lbs Strengths: Due to her small size, she has an agility and speed advantage and is better at catching prey and escaping danger. Weaknesses: She isn’t very strong, so it takes more effort to fend off larger, stronger predators. Appearance: Delta is a small female with a bluish grey coat and black and white speckles throughout her fur. Her nose is an ordinary black, and her eyes are the color of the flowing rivers. The tips and fluffs of her ears are white, as well as the tip of her tail. She has a slightly longer and leaner build than average. Her fur is of medium length, and her tail is a bit shorter than typical. Few scars can be seen on her body, though she has a notable claw mark on her flank. 
Personality: She is a kind hearted she-wolf who always wants to help her pack. She loves to hunt and is an excellent fisher. She sticks up for those she likes and isn’t afraid to fight, however she usually likes to keep things peaceful if possible. She is fairly dominant and won’t let most wolves boss her around, but she knows her place around the higher-status wolves. She can be very flirty and sarcastic around wolves she’s comfortable with. Due to her past, she has a soft spot for pups, and often volunteers to watch them when the pack goes out. Story: She was born into a small pack lead by her mother and father, with a brother and sister from the same litter. They struggled to survive because of their small numbers, and often lacked sufficient food for the pack. Her siblings eventually died from the cold and starvation, but she was resilient and learned to scavenge for her own food, often surviving off small rodents and bugs when the pack couldn’t provide. After some time the older wolves grew sick and weak, and she was on her own before her first birth day, the last surviving member of her pack. Before her second winter, she met a new group of wolves living in a forest near her birth place, and was immediately welcomed. She’s made a great impression on her new pack, and is in training to be a hunter, although she’s already better than most of the adults.
