Khalin walked next to her all the way to the gas station. His body tense and ready. He decided like his pistol might be best for this occasion. He pulled it out, placing his bat in a water bottle pocket in his bag. He pulled his pistol up and turned. Scanning the area for threats before he followed Val into the building. His face was determined as he went the opposite way of her. He saw the toddler clothes and his face fell, as well as his pistol. “This world is so cruel” he mumbled to himself. Once he felt the gas station was safe enough to let his gun down he began to look to see what the gas station had to offer them. Kaz sat just inside the door, his gaze towards the outside world like he was on guard.

He flinched away from her gun with a chuckle. "Gosh I should know better by now, that's like the fifth time you've almost killed me" he said lightly. Now that he was getting more comfortable he was getting more silly, but remained serious in serious situations.
He had gone through most of the store and only found a few things that were useless, but his eyes lit up at the sight of two brown bars laying stacked on top of each other on the shelf almost like the apocalypse hadn't touched them.
"you will never believe what I just found, I'm pretty sure we just won the apocalypse" he had a face that showed he was trying not to laugh. He let the suspense build for a few seconds before slowly bringing the chocolate bars up, even to his face. He raised his eye brows hoping she liked chocolate, because if not, this would get really awkward really fast.

For a moment Khalin just kind of stared at her, worried she was serious. He knew that the end of the world was..minority serious, but he liked to have fun. Shen she gave a grin he chuckled and gave her her bar. He stuffed his into a pocket of his vest and smiled at her. "See I'm good for something!" He said lightly. He then grabbed something he had hid from her view so he could play his joke. "I mean I found this too, but I don't think it's as important." He tossed a bottle of rubbing alcohol to her, it would be perfect for keeping things clean and sterile.

Khal chuckled and gazed around again, mostly just touching every single thing like a child would do before the world ended. He gazed over at her and snorted. "Yeah right, the only thing I need protection from is you and you gun, you like to shove that bad boy in my face" he teased.

Once she had decided there was nothing more he nodded in aggrement. "Yeah let's keep moving" he walked to the door and reached down to pet Kaz lightly befor pulling his pistol up and stepping out of the gas station and making sure the area was cleared.

He watched as she took care of the walker effortlessly. He shrugged as if to say 'your fault' "you decided to walk on that side" he then looked over at her and spoke again. "You need a big strong man to take care of you huh princess?" He winked then quickly flinched up his arms in protection from any hits she would give.
Khalin decided his pistol wouldn't do him any good in the open like this. He put it away then got out his bat and studied it for a moment. Small chicken scratch tally marks and names were larger into the wood, most of them stained pink from the blood of walkers.
