Rose spotted the other black wolf stop, and so she treaded water, a tad bit confused until she saw him work on covering his tracks. So he really was running from someone, she thought. Deciding that waiting was not a good plan, she continued on, figuring the slightly older male would catch up to her on his own. She did she him shudder as he touched the salty water, and she chuckled to herself. Why any wolf wouldn't prefer to swim was beyond her, but most wolves, even her own kind, were unlike her, so she didn't dwell too long on it. She wondered if he would be interested in trying sea food, or if he had ever even eaten a seal. She knew he ate rabbit, and she hoped he would not try to feed her with the small animals. It was always akward explaining to other wolves that her mate was a snow rabbit.

Raven picked his way through the mile before shaking the water out of his fur and paws. Shaking off again, he stretched before going into a fast lope, catching up with the female that was a bit ahead. Once he was alongside her from the shore, he slowed slightly but kept the pace up. Striding forward, he panted slightly as he looked to the forest and then the water. Finally, looking up, he noted that they could probably get another 2 miles in before they would have to rest. Well, find a den at least. Panthers came out at night and they would attack anything that dared breathe. He continued onward, his ears flicking back to make sure everything was good. He glanced out to the ocean, spotting Rose as well.

Rose glanced up when she caught movment out of the corner of her eye. Raven was catching up. She felt glad that he did, she had not wanted to leave him behind. She saw him glance up and wondered when he planned to stop for the night. She figured he would call to her. She resumed her focus on her swim, enjoying the feeling of the boyant water flowing through her black fur. Her fractured rear paws enjoyed it as well, since they were helped along by the water they paddled in. Fresh water wasn't nearly as fun, it was alot heavier to swim through, so she preffered to stick to her beloved sea.

Raven loped through the sand before slowing to a halt near a rocky outlook. He called over to Rose quietly, "Rose, time to stop for the night." He scanned the outlook before digging around some of the rocks, dislodging a few of them. Making a good sizeable den, he looked out for Rose before flicking his ears as a bird call came from the forest. He stalked forward, creeping along silently before spotting the pheasant. Crouching down, he leaped at it, his jaws closing around its throat snapping it. Picking it up, he started back to the makeshift den before laying down. "Would you like some? Or do you eat. . .uh seafood?" He asked, cocking his head.

Hearing her name, she twisted around and headed to shore, padding out and shaking her pelt vigourously. She stepped over to the den he had just made, and quickly paced it off from the shore. She blew through her nose with relief that it was out of reach of the tides. She too heard the pheasent cry, but she ignored it as she checked out the den, patting some of the dirt down and brushing out loose soil with her tail. She wondered if there would be enough time to make nests or if they should just sleep on the ground. She snapped at a fly before settling on the idea of no nests. Hearing Raven's voice, she popped her head out and blinked at him. "Seafood is indeed 99% of my diet." She wagged her tail gently. "I can catch my own prey, don't worry about me." So saying, she bounded off for the sea shore once more, tilting her head at the gorund and pouncinginto the sand, digging quickly to catch the delctable clams before they buried too deep.

Raven listened to her before watching as she went to dig in the sand, no doubt for some kind of seafood. Eating his pheasant, he buried the bones before padding over to the den. The reason why she was going to travel with him was beyond is understanding but he was glad for it. He didn't like packs but he didn't like to be fully alone either. And birds and deer didn't count. Settling down in the den, he lowered his head, listening to the birds sing their final songs for the night.

Rose managed to catch several clams before returning to the little den, licking her lips in satisfaction. Looking up at the sky, she blinked several times then looked back down. Once the moon rose she would sing. She would have to wait, though it shouldn't be long now. She popped her head in and saw Raven resting inside. "Tired?" She queiried.

Raven perked his ears as Rose popped her head inside. "Tired?" She asked. He blinked at her before nodding, "I usually don't run during the day. It's faster at night, mostly because its cooler." He raised his head looking at her. Was she going to wait for the moon to come out? They sometimes could hear the songs of the Sea Wolves from across the ocean.

Rose nodded sagely. "Understandable." She commented. "I'll be out here if you need me." She felt akward thinking about explaining to him about her singing. She withdrew and padded around the outcropping until she found a way up it, then she climbed to the top. Seating herself, she began to groom the salt from her fur as she awaiting the moon to bathe the land in light.

Raven watched her go out before curling up. He yawned once before tucking his nose under his tail. Not the first time sleeping away from the pack but there was still that feeling. But that's how it always was with the rogues and even now, with his own brother hunting him down, he was better of with Rose than them. Even if it was only for a short amount of time.
