I was winning on the leaderboard for 'Top Explorers This Week - Basic', but now I am no longer anywhere on the leaderboard.

All I can think is that my membership recently upgraded to the Explorer (free) due to it being the start of the month. I have done another 5 levels just to see if it would reset me on one of the leaderboards, but I am not on the premium board either.

What gives?

If you have the explorer (free) membership, I believe you're technically considered a premium.

Should I not have switched to the premium board then?

At the very least I should be on the premium board with the 5 that I earned after the switch took place (granted, nowhere near the top, but I should at least appear there)?
