In Strederra, there is no group or higher power more respected that the Council of the Arcane. A powerful group of magic users, they govern over the land with a steady but reasonable hand, ensuring the safety and success of the region. Recently they've come into possession of Historical Grimoire which told of six powerful objects, orbs, artifacts. That, if they fell into the wrong hands, could spell disaster for not only Strederra, but the entire world.

Deciding such powerful objects could not be allowed to remain out in the world, the council worked to figure out the best way to bring these artifacts to safety. Realizing that Dragon Riders are able to resist the natural allure that artifacts have been because of their bond with their dragons, the council assembled a group of 6 pairs, one per artifact.

These Elite Dragon Riders were give simple, but specific, instructions: Find the Artifacts and return them to the Council so they could be placed under protection. To help them the group was given a book written by the Mages, made up entirely of their knowledge of the artifacts, which should help them successfully find the artifacts and bring them back.

Unsure of anything aside from their mission, the group of Dragon Riders and their Dragon set off into the Unknown, possible forever altering the course of the future.

All the dragons in the Rp are the same age group of young adult, which is the stage where they are 50 years old or above, becoming full adults at about 250 years. The older a dragon gets the longer the aging stage lasts, ergo ancient is longer than adult, which is longer than young adult, which is longer than their adolescent stage, and so on and so forth. Dragons are considered semi-immortal but it has never been proven what age they die naturally at.

For the Purpose of this Rp, all Young Adult Dragons are capped at 19 Feet Tall. I've based this on the largest I would allow the Young Adult Dragons in former versions of this Rp.

For your dragons, though, it will be up to you to come up with their abilities and their individual weaknesses. Of course, I will have a specific set of Weaknesses that apply to ALL dragons, but each dragon will also have their own. You must have 1 Weakness for Every 1 Ability they have. So if you give them 5 Abilities, you must have 5 Weaknesses for them as well. This is to keep balanced, so no one's dragon is OP. If I do not think you have balanced your dragon enough, they will not be accepted.

The Riders

In Strederra, the population is made up of Elves, which, unlike the Council of Arcane, are not considered mages, at least not full fledged ones. Yet-- that comes with age.

The Elves of Strederra have elongated lifespans like many types of elves, able to live with centuries, and aging very slowly in the process. However, it wasn't until recently that the Elves of Strederra started to bond with Dragons, creating the Class of Elves known as Dragon Riders. For this Rp, our Riders are known as Elites, as they're more experienced and have been bonded for longer, as most Riders bond at 14-18 Years old.

So for example, the Council is made of Elves who are likely 600+ Years, whereas our Riders aren't even 30 yet, hence why they do not currently have full fledged mage abilities.

However, what they do have is an affinity. This affinity is to one element, which I will provide a list for below, which they can do different 'spells' for. However, in order to store energy, or mana, for these spells, they have to have something to store it in.

Mana Can Be Stored In:
- Tattoos [Permanent or Henna]
- Pendants or Jewelry
- Runes on Objects
- In a Staff


Now what each rider stores mana in is entirely up to them, but it has a finite capacity, so it isn't limitless mana. So, when drawing upon it for various things, they have to be careful to conserve when and where needed. This Mana Energy can be used for any sort of spell, attack, task, etc. of the Elemental Type that their Affinity is. The only exception is that some elves, only a few, have developed the ability to use their Mana to heal wounds of themselves or others. Right now, the only Elf in the group with that ability is Silver.

For Example, a Elf with an Earth Affinity cannot do a Spell for a Fireball or Gust of Wind, but they could Upturn Soil or cause a Landslide.

Reputation: Ráijá Vábo is an old creature whose presence is claimed to be a bad omen. Sights of her are rare, though not impossible. A beast known for her dark ways, there are stories of the curses she casts upon others. Her name has been passed down generations in warning, advising individuals to never seek her out. Those that have seen her describe her as a dark entity with a black body and a skull face, a crown of horns gracing her empty features.

A creature of tall proportions, she stands at the maximum height of 19 feet with a lengthy and robust physique. Those that have espied her form relate it most to bird mixed with a feline. Disproportionate and curvy, Ráijá Vábo is an odd specimen of a beast. Despite her height, her legs are minature things. The true star is her neck, which is lengthier than her body and consists of nearly as many muscles.

In terms of appearance, there is nothing unique about her. Her entire body is a solid black, the only difference being her face, which is a bold white. The sudden contrast offers her a look that best resembles a skull, and during the night, many see nothing but her facial features floating around. It is her most impressive feature, excluding her horns, which sit upon her head like a crown. They twist around like branches of a tree, offering her protection from all angles. In the midst of these horns rests a floating orb, red in colouration, and rather useless. But hey, at least it offers a majestic sight.

Past her pointed snout and narrow face rests, not a pair of eyes, but a triad.. also red in colouration. Indeed, three eyes appear upon the female's head, the third resting upon her forehead remotely larger than the other two. The three are stuck in a constant glow, highlighting her facial features with sinister red lighting constantly.

In terms of the remainder of her body, four wings rest upon her back. The two closest to her neck are large, able to support her alone without the help of the other two, which rest near her hind legs and are significantly smaller. In truth, they are predominately used for gliding more than anything.

When her powers are used, old, ancient runics appear over her body, presenting itself as an ancient language lost centuries ago.

Upon making her acquaintance, many wish that they hadn't. Given her appearance, one may consider her elegant and regal, but oh, how she couldn't be more different. Quickly known to be moody, Ráijá possesses a predatory, wild persona that is unsuitable for even the most feral of creatures. Often lurking, she is commonly seen weaving through obstacles with a sinister look in her eyes. Everything about her is eerie and abnormal. It is not right, something is simply.. off.

Known to be tricky and deceptive, do not trust her, no matter how persuasive she may seem. Ráijá has a talent for telling others what they wish to hear, manipulating them onto her side, only to leave them once she is finished. When questioned, she denies. Such a convincing case she makes, that she makes almost all doubt themselves. And when those see through her act and speak out, the outcome is worse. Known to have a temper, she will quickly become cold and hostile, ensuring that their lives will become worse if gone against.

She is callous and cruel, never one to consider a friend. It is rare for her to take a liking to another, let alone do favours for them out of the kindness of her heart. Ráijá does nothing for another if she gains nothing in return. Selfish? Pah, it's survival, do what you will with that knowledge.

Impulsive, she is a creature that often takes risks, and my, how stubborn she can be in situations. She is never wrong, not in her mind, and if she disagrees with something, she will refuse to partake. When questioned, one would quickly find her to be apathetic, waving them off without a second thought. Truly, there is nothing redeemable about her. However, one thing is for certain, she is honest, cunning, and incisive. She will tell others the truth, no matter if it hurts. In fact, she hopes that it does. She is also useful in dangerous situations, for she maintains a calm aura and is therefore able to assist better. Then again, that doesn't mean she will.

Fierce, Ráijá is also argumentative in certain situations. Rather than using her words to make peace, she provokes. Truthfully, she is not a kind creature, not by a long shot. Of course, there is the odd specimen that she may genuinely take a liking to, but even that is a lengthy process, and not one that many wish to go through.


Abilities:
Illusion Manipulation
Able to manipulate illusions to her content, she may cause victims to hear, see, touch, smell, and taste things differently. Able to distort the shape and size of a shape and surroundings, she can cause targets to misinterpret distance and distort another's sensory. This includes using awareness distortion, where she is able to perform movements or actions that can disrupt or nullify targets capacity to be aware of their surroundings, as well as her actions and attacks.

Feign Damage
When needed, she can appear as if she is taking damage by using illusions. It allows others to believe that she is genuinely harmed. Not only does she pretend to be hurt, but is able to display physical signs of damage, such as blood, wounds, broken bones, and even death. However, none of this is true, simply an illusion so that she may inflict her own damage or escape.

Pain Illusion
She is able to trick her target into thinking that they are in immense physical pain. Despite no physical wounds or affects on the body, the mind is tricked into believing pain exists. Able to make her opponent wither in agony to exhaust them mentally and physically, it often offers her an advantage to creature true pain in the process.

Telekinesis
She is able to move or manipulate objects with her mind. A useful ability, it allows Raija to move things, making others question whether or not they're seeing an illusion, or an actual object. Overall, a good offense tool.

Standing tall at 18 feet, Deaencta's lithe form is a breathtaking spectacle. Her scales create a mesmerizing blend of vibrant greens and eggplant-purple, adorning her body in an exquisite display of natural artistry. The lithe frame she possesses not only captivates observers with its visual allure but also serves as a testament to her unmatched agility and grace. Above her navy-blue eyes, a distinctive layer of deep purple scales begins at her nose, extending gracefully to culminate in a majestic horn. A small patch of violet-purple just beneath her eye ties the purples together. The underbelly, a rich dark green, provides a striking contrast to the vivid purples and various shades of greens that adorn her upper body. Bold black "tiger" stripes traverse her form, standing out prominently against the vibrant colors. Running over her neck and down her back are scales that look like the tips are dipped in white, appearing like little spots. Along the side of her neck, an enigmatic "eye" marking seems to follow the undulating movements of her body. The ethereal glow of neon green scales forms the outer perimeter of the eye, with a profound dark purple at its center. Flecks of yellow or orange add subtle highlights to some points on her body, creating an even more captivating display of color. The edges of her scales are elegantly lined with a deep electric blue.

Atop Deaencta's regal head rest two long, ebony devil horns, spiraling skyward in a testament to her majestic presence. A tiny yet formidable jet-black horn adorns her delicate nose, creating a striking contrast against the vibrant hues of her scales. Deaencta's wings, resembling those of a great bat, are nothing short of a marvel. Stretched wide and powerful, their membranes blend shades of green and purple, each wingtip ending in a formidable claw. Her green-to-black ears are longer than most dragons, taking a longer version of an elven-shape. Her limbs are sinewy and powerful, each muscle finely sculpted to facilitate her swift and precise movements in the air. Her legs are a deep, moss green. Her long tail drifts out behind her, the appendage ending in a scorpion-like tip. The scales on her tail shimmer in shades of green and deep purple, mirroring the captivating colors of her body. The colors all over her body seamlessly mold and blend into each other. Her claws are sharp and lethal but also rather long, emulating built-in daggers.

Personality:

Deaencta is a complex character. She is hot one moment and cold the next. Her temperament is a nuanced blend of serenity and occasional unpredictability. Deaencta’s mean streak is a pretty dominant aspect of her character, she is known for her mean disposition that casts a shadow over her interactions. Her demeanor exudes a coldness that often keeps others at a distance, as she navigates the world with a sense of guarded hostility. She seems to take pleasure in asserting dominance and isn't hesitant to display a mean streak when faced with challenges or opposition. She doesn't shy away from a fight and readily embraces her aggressive instincts when the situation demands it. This aggressive demeanor contributes to her reputation as a powerful and imposing presence.

Confidence radiates from Deaencta in a steady, unwavering stream. Her self-assuredness borders on arrogance, making her a forceful personality in any setting. This confidence is not easily shaken, further solidifying her status as a dominant figure. Boldness is inherent in Deaencta nature, as she fearlessly confronts challenges head-on. Her bold approach to life makes her a trailblazer, unafraid to venture into the unknown and face whatever obstacles come her way. This boldness is a driving force that propels her through the complexities of her existence. Her confident demeanor and strong sense of self-worth empower her to tackle situations head-on, standing firm in the face of adversity.

Deaencta often exudes an icy aloofness. She keeps her distance from others, rarely forming close bonds, and is known to respond to inquiries or greetings with a dismissive silence. Her moral compass is unyielding and unforgiving. Deaencta can be harsh in her judgments, quick to condemn perceived wrongdoers, and she rarely extends a second chance. Deaencta is utterly unforgiving. She never forgets a slight, a betrayal, or an injustice. Every perceived wrong is etched into her memory. Safe to say, she knows how to hold a grudge. In moments of anger, Deaencta can exhibit a calculated cruelty. She may use her vast knowledge of weaknesses to verbally wound or emotionally manipulate those who have earned her disdain.

Needless to say, Deaencta has a.. Venomous personality traits. Her temper is volatile and unpredictable. Her fury is as unpredictable as a lightning strike. She can transition from serenity to tempestuous rage in the blink of an eye. When provoked, Deaencta's anger is like a raging tempest, consuming all reason and restraint. Her usually graceful movements transform into violent, destructive outbursts. Deaencta's tongue is as sharp as her claws. She hurls cutting insults and stabbing remarks at those who dare provoke her. Deaencta is prone to making impulsive decisions when her temper flares. She may act first and regret later, often creating complex and perilous situations. After particularly violent fits of anger, Deaencta often retreats into solitary isolation to regain her composure. Moments later, she’ll reappear as if nothing happened.
