The Fight for Atlantis Many millennias ago, merhorse's swam freely around Pangea in peace. They had the head of a horse but fins instead of hooves and a long fish tail, and they were plentiful. That was until the Earth began to quake. It seemed like Pangea was being ripped apart and the merhorse's scattered. Many regrouped in the ocean, believing that the rest hadn't made it. They built structure and a kingdom to protect their species from another catastrophe. After thousands of years of evolution, they had become the hippocampi. Little did they know, their lost population had lived through the horrific event. Through the reshaping of the continents, merhorses had gotten stuck in lakes and rivers. Life in the freshwater was stressful and hard to adapt to, causing many to go carnivorous in order to survive. They had made order too, in a much different way, and they evolved into the kelpie. But something was here to ruin the found peace yet again. The Earth began to quake a second time, the land shook and crumbled, destroying the many bodies of water it held. All freshwater creatures were released into the ocean where the majority of them died within hours. The kelpie were left with no home and fought for territory against the hippocampi. Neither species remembered their shared roots, all but the royal family, the only remaining merhorse's. The royals had convinced the hippocampi that they were the superior equines and that the Goddess of the sea herself had chosen them to rule. By teaching their past, they could save their kingdom from the constant fatalities, but they would have to admit to their lies and potentially lose their thrones. The Kingdom of Atlantis Due to the earthquakes, the outer layers of the kingdom are in ruins, but the fortress in the center remains. The Ruins Many marbled buildings which have fallen apart. Due to the quick evacuation there's supplies there including meal supplements and toys for the young. Occasionally you may find a less ruined building or one nearly whole, but it's rare. This is where the kelpies are currently staying, so long as they stay out of the eyes of the Kingdom. The Forest The kelp forest is a large field that the young used to play in before the earthquakes. In the past, it had separated the nobility from the citizens, now it separates the ruins from the fortress. It's quite thick and easy to get lost in, or hide. The Fortress A Marble wall surrounds the inner city, with guard towers on every edge. The city inside is bustling with the entire population of hippocampi now that their homes were destroyed. Giant coral makes up most of the city, with homes being carved into the sides. Near the very center are homes made purely of marble, and then the castle. The Castle Centered in the fortress is a cluster of towers, all different heights. Each tower holds a member of the royal family and some of the highest nobilities. The largest tower is in the middle, and inside lives the King and Queen. At the base of the towers, they're all connected into the throne room. The Throne Room At ground level, the throne room is the central hub of the royals. This is where citizens of Atlantis would come to see the King and Queen about their concerns. The center of the room has two towering thrones, with a smaller one at each side. Behind the thrones are many arched doorways that lead up to the towers. The Lecture Hall The hall is a dome of many species of coral, and the inside is a field of seagrass. This is where the Shaman, a hippocampi chosen as the royals closest advisor, will teach the youth about their goddess Ceto. The foals are required to attend every speaking, it's optional for the adults but most choose not to go. The Park Without the kelp forest to play in, foals will play in what they call a park. It's a mix of many corals with hiding spots for them to play inside. The Amphitheater Previously used for sports and entertainment, after the quakes it's now used as a hub for the community. When the gatherers come back with kelp from the forest, it's brought here to distribute to the citizens.

Saturn Ophelie Age: 7 Gender: Female Species: Kelpie Rank: Consort Appearance: Saturn is a quite large kelpie at 15'7" in length. Despite her size, her build is lean and slim. Her head and neck are relatively similar to a Morgan horse. Across her neck lays her silvery grey mane that reaches just past her shoulders. Her eyes are a bright green that almost seems to glow in the dark. Inside her mouth are teeth resembling that of a canines, with sharp teeth built for ripping skin. Her tongue is a blackish purple and split like a snakes. Her fur is short and glossy, protecting her skin from the cold water. It's a dark green that looks almost black when there isn't light on it. She has a dorsal fin that goes from her withers to the start of her tail, starting small and spiking up to the height of her head before lowering. She's able to fold and flare it like a pleco. At her tail is a large lunate fin built for high speeds. Similar to her dorsal, she can fold this in and out for different levels of maneuverability, this is the same for the rest of her fins as well. Her back fins are large and can flare as well as shake to intimidate predators. Her front appendages go out like a horses leg, but have fins going from the end to her shoulder, shaped similarly to a birds wing. Personality: Saturn is incredibly flirtatious, hence being a Consort to the High Priestest. She uses her looks to get what she wants and can be quite convincing. Before the quakes, she would swim to the surface, only showing her front half, and flirt with horses. Often, she would ask them to come play in the water with her, where she would then lead them to her Tribe for food. She's very self confident and no matter what anyone says she won't take it to heart. Despite this, she's attention needy and will whine and pout if she doesn't have anyone to talk to. Her Tribe truly is her family and she would do anything to protect them. She loves foals and they bring out the gentle side of her, she would love to have kids herself if she wasn't already tied to the priestest. Strengths: -Confident -Deceiving -Fast Swimmer Weaknesses: -Soft spot for Foals -Needs constant attention -Not very strong Relatives: None known

Name: Pearl Cheval Age: almost 2 years ( I'm assuming this goes off horse aging) Gender: Female Species: Merhorse Rank: heir Appearance: Pearl is a rather pretty merhorse she has round iridescent dark purple scales with hints of blue around her spine and eyes. her fine are spined and a light green- blue except for the large fins where her legs should be those are a lighter purple gradient. The left fin on her tail is smaller and ragged meaning she uses her left leg-fin more than the right to steady herself. She is still a good swimmer though. She has bright blue eyes. (I'm going to draw a better one) Personality: Pearl is a playful merhorse she likes to explore and has even sneaked out of the palace at night a few times to explore outside of of the city before. She always gets caught before she gets to far away. She is very curious and is always asking questions. She likes things like shells and pearls and has a collection of a few. Even though she is basically a foal still she is mature besides the night exploring part. She often wonders why they aren't allowed near the kelpies they can't be all bad... Right? But most of the time she does what she is told and pays attention to the lessons even though most of them are rather boring. Strengths: sharp eyesight, very intelligent, high stamina Weaknesses: Smaller left tail fin, low attention span, not very strong Relatives: Royal family Other: Don't mind me making the last name horse in french....
