The Hailfall Colony
`The Heights`

The Hailfall Colony are known for heroism, loyality and justice with a set of strict rules. They always believe they are right and anyone who stands against them is an enemy to peace. They consider themselves rulers of the whole Northern Ridge, allowing other colonies on their land under their rule. This colony live high up in the snowy mountains, their camp deep in the mountain's caves. The most common prey they hunt are deer which the colony eat together in rank order. This colony are the only ones with access to the ridge itself, the place said to connect the Spirits of Aurora with the living, though only the Spirit Speakers themselves know the truth, the spirits have never once spoken.

Colony Standards
.
Cats of this colony are usually larger breeds, allowing them to hunt prey much larger than them. They have long, dense fur made to keep them warm and the snow out. They are heavy with large paws made to sink into snow from which they stalk their prey. Most pelts are greys or white with blue, silver or green eyes.

Naming System
.
All Kitten are given a number which they'll be called by until they become Trainees. When they become Trainees the King/Queen names them, these names are usually adjectives referring to personality.

The Rules of Hailfall
.
1) The King/Queen makes all decisions and their word is final.
2) The King/Queen must listen to the Spirit Speaker as their job is to bring messages from the Spirits of Aurora.
3) Going against the King/Queen, whether it be by openingly disagreeing with their decisions, plotting against them, attempted assassination, speaking badly of them or anything remotely simular, is a crime to be punished as the King/Queen sees fit.
4) The colony will eat in a certain order. This order is King/Queen, Heir, Spirit Speaker, The Council, Healers, Commanders, Kittens, Warriors, Mentors, Trainees, Hunters, Gaurds, Scouts, Messengers.
5) All Overseers must have two Commanders. In the case of an Overseers death, the King/Queen will pick one of the Commanders to take the Overseers place.
6) The colony is more important than family or friendships. You must always prioritise the needs of the colony.
7) Violence against other colony members of your rank or higher is strictly forbidden.
8) Only the Spirit Speaker may stand upon the ridge.
9) Talking with outsiders is looked down on, relationships with outsiders are forbidden.

Ranks

King/Queen
A singular ruler of the kingdom that is the Hailfall Colony. They are the eldest child of their generation from a long bloodline of leaders. The King or Queen makes all the decisions and going against them would be breaking the rules of their colony.

Heir
The next in line for the throne and the eldest child of the current King/Queen. They are trained by the council.

Spirit Speaker
A cat who speaks with the spirits and is the only one allowed to stand upon the ridge. They are the only cat the King/Queen have to listen to. On rare occasion they may take a Trainee.

The Council (Overseers)
Collectively referred to as the Council while members are referred to as Overseers in reference to their duty, each one watches over a rank of the colony. They are allowed to give the King/Queen their suggestions and advice, but the King/Queen does not have to listen to them. (The list below shows where each Overseer ranks, the higher they are on the list, the higher rank they are.)

Healers
Cats with herbal knowledge who keep the colony well, they are not allowed to leave the caverns.

Commanders
Commanders are chosen by the Overseers of their rank as possible future Overseers. There are two per rank and the King/Queen will pick one of them if the current Overseer dies.

Warriors
The fighters of the colony, they are rule enforcers and the ones who fight other cats. (9 Total, Commanders and Overseer included.)

Hunters
Hunters make up the bulk of the colony. They hunt together to feed the colony, but often only get the scraps of their kill. (Unlimited Slots!)

Guards
The Guards keep watch over the caves, knowing who leaves and enters along with where everyone is at all times. Many feel uncomfortable around the Guards because they know they're always watching. (Total 8, including Commanders and Overseer.)

Scouts
The Scouts patrol the borders and are sent to check on situations reported by other ranks, they are often times thrown into dangerous situations. (7 Total, Includes Commanders and Overseer)

Messengers
The Messengers are the lowest of the full ranks, there is always one with every large group when they leave the caves and their job is to run back to the cave in case of any emergency. (Total 5, Includes Commanders and Overseer)
