Ruina hums to herself as she methodically moves through her stretches. Holding each position until she felt a slight burn, meaning her body was stretching. She needed to be as loose as possible, this was about to be one of the most intense work outs she'd had in a long time. She would start with a run, and then some work outs, and finish with a spar. In fact, her two sparring partners were here, stretching as well. Her cousin, Tarron, and her best friend, Thaola. The two were often the only match for the princess in a spar, because they were the only ones who never held back.

Tarron stretches his long body,"So, why are you so intent on killing yourself today?" Ruina rolls her eyes,"That's a little dramatic, Ta. I just want to push myself." Thaola rolls her shoulders,"Why? You already train hard every single day. Not to mention the kind of training MI6 puts you through when you go up." Ruina sighs as she straightens up,"MI6's training has become boring. It's the same thing over and over again. How am I supposed to learn anything from that?" Tarron raises an eyebrow,"So you want to run, workout, and then put your tired body through a spar against two people?"

Ruina hops up and down a few times to stretch her legs. "Aren't you two running and working out as well?" Thaola twists at her hip,"Only because you are." Ruina rolls her eyes,"Hold on. Since when have you two ever been against me pushing myself to my limit?" Thaola releases a long breath as she relaxes,"Never. But, you've never sparred two of us at the same time-" Ruina frowns,"Yes I have." Thaola continues, ignoring the fact she'd just been interrupted. "-After pushing yourself to the edge during running and working out. Not to mention, we use our pyrokentics during sparring too."

Tarron, like his cousin, also had the ability to use pyrokentics as did Thaola. While most of the kingdom of Kheoles were known for their ability to wield one of the four elements. The capital city, Zheling, was known for their pyrokentics. There were a few others, but mostly pyrokentics. It was a little ironic that their castle sat so close to the coast, however, since there were very few hydrokinesis wielders that lived in Zheling. There was of course, a smaller town tucked alongside Zheling that sat along the coast, and that was where most of the hydrokinesis wielders lived. But still, fire and water didn't mix too well.

Ruina sighs,"Alright, come on, come. Let's stop wasting time." Thaola and Tarron grunt as they move to follow Ruina, but before any of them could get out of the door, a royal messenger came running inside. Ruina's grey eyes sharpen with focus,"What's wrong?" The messenger skids to a halt, bowing,"Your Highness. The King and Queen request your attendance in the throne room at once." Ruina, Tarron, and Thaola exchange a look. Being summoned to the throne room was never good. "Bad news?" The messenger answers,"It's not for me to say, Your Highness."

Ruina strides through the open doors, Tarron and Thaola on either side of her. They had run straight from the gym, fearful that something was incredibly wrong. Ruina comes to a halt before her father and mother, who were seated on their thrones. Clearly, nothing was wrong. Her elder brother, the Crown Prince, was nowhere to be seen. Thaola and Tarron sweep into a bow while Ruina studies her parents. "Mother. Father. What's wrong? Are we under attack?" Ashera shakes her head,"No, child. We are safe." Ruina frowns,"Then why have you summoned me here?" A cold and calculated smile crosses the king's face.

"Ruina, my dear child, you are getting married."

Kage arrived home to Whiteridge after a call from his parents, unfortunately. He would've loved to avoid the castle and the rest of his family for another hundred years but.. that would never be a reality. He barely ever got a year to himself, what could they want now?

He had been there a mere twenty-four hours before his sister, Annalise, barged into his room quickly followed by Calista.

"Kage!" Both of them had giant, silly smiles on their faces.

Kage, sitting up from his place in bed where he was enjoying a pretty boring book titled Gems of History. "What on earth are you both doing in my room, again??"

"Mother and Father need you, they told us to come get you. They didn't say what they wanted to talk to you about either, so it must be a private matter. You better tell us when you get back!" Both sisters spoke in unison, with only Calista ending it. Annalise grabbed his arm, setting his book aside while Calista took his other arm. The sisters, working together, successfully dragged him out of his room. It wasn't forceful, Kage let them.

"No promises." Kage shook his head, pretending to resist. "It's probably some boring issue, you wouldn't want to hear about."

Calista and Annalise just chattered all the way down to their parents private chambers. Kage felt like he was being tossed into the room, in reality he was gently pushed by his sisters, but he still felt tossed.

He didn't feel the need to change into more formal clothes due to only having been there for a day, and thinking it was going to be a short visit. This got very similar looks from his parents. Ellora, the Queen, gave him a slight look of judgement. His mother was pretty good at concealing most of it. Kuro on the other hand.. not so good. The judgement coming from the King felt like a giant weight on Kage. It felt a bit bad to disappoint them, but it was just clothing. They couldn't be too mad.

"So.. what's this about? Another enemy threatening Whiteridge? More attempts to convince me to move from Viorela back to Whiteridge? We all know this isn't going to happen, but if it's another enemy.. I'd be okay with taking them out." Kage shrugged, taking a seat and crossing his legs. This wasn't a very prince-like way of sitting but.. fuck it, might as well.

"No, neither of those." Ellora began, spoken over by Kuro.

"Kage, you've been avoiding your duties for long enough. I hope you've done some research on the neighboring kindom. Do you remember the princess of Kheoles?"

Kage merely nodded, even though he didn't know who that was.

"Good." Kuro continued on, "You'll be marrying her."

Kage had stared at Ellora and Kuro for just about a full minute before huffing out a fake laugh.

"This must be a joke. Is this a joke? You cannot be serious."

Tarron and Thaola immediately step as far away from Ruina as they could in a step. "Married?" The air around the princess heats up as she fights to control her sudden bout of anger. Aelrindel levels a cold glare on his daughter. "Control your temper daughter. I will not have you setting fire to the throne room." That made the princess want to set fire to the room anyway. Ruina looks at Ashera, finding comfort in her warm and loving gaze. Ruina takes a deep breath, the air cooling back down. She looks back to the king, who continues. "You know of Eskya?"

Ruina's voice was calm. "I know of Eskya." She'd done a little studying of the kingdoms surrounding them. Although she didn't know the kingdoms on the far side of the world. Eskya was not too far from Kheoles. Aelrindel nods,"Good. Because tomorrow, you will be escorted there to meet your betrothed." The air of calmness Ruina had managed to obtain disappears with a flash of her eyes. "I'm sorry. What?" Aelrindel glares at his daughter,"You heard me." Ruina takes a step closer to her father. "You expect me to just drop everything and travel to another nation? I have duties here. I have a job."

"You do have duties, to your kingdom."

Ruina scoffs,"What? For an alliance? Please, the world has been at peace for years. Not to mention, Kheoles has enough allies." Aelrindel waves that off. "The arrangement was made for other purposes. Although, an alliance has been created as well." Ruina rolls her eyes,"Well, since it's my life. I'm gonna say no. This isn't the medieval times. I'll marry on my own time." Ruina glares at her father. "If it was for an alliance, then it was for power. And I'm not allowing you to marry me off for power."

"I'm afraid it's not that simple, sister."

Ruina whips around to find her twin brother walking in. He was dressed in his battle armor, and covered in... blood. Ruina's eyes go wide, rushing towards her brother. "Revalor! Are you okay?" Revalor looks down, before flashing a reassuring smile at his sister. "Don't worry, none of it's mine." Ruina frowns,"Whose is it?" Revalor doesn't answer, looking at Aelrindel,"They are getting closer. We are holding them off at the border, but I don't know how long our defense will last." Ruina's eyes go wide,"What's at our border? How come I wasn't summoned into battle?"

Aelrindel rises to his feet. "There has been a great evil unleashed onto our world, daughter." Ruina bristles, she'd never seen her family so serious. "I sent your brother to the border to see if the rumors were true, and what he discovered there was horrific." Revalor takes over,"The living dead." Ruina's eyes go wide,"The living dead?" Revalor nods,"Marching towards us in precise formations, and when they attacked." Revalor shivers,"Tendrils of shadows blinded us, making it almost impossible for us to see."

Ruina glances back at her father. "Okay, but why am I being married off? Shouldn't I be going to help fight?" Aelrindel's lips thin,"Normally, yes. You would lead the armies to the border to defend our nation. But, what we face is a Necromancer. No matter how many undead you slay, more will rise. Eskya's King and I believe that by the union of you two, we will be able to defeat the Necromancer."

Ellora shook her head in the background while Kuro talked on, a slight smile on her lips. She knew this would be her sons reaction.

"No. This isn't a joke, Kage." Kuro stood, lifting Ellora with him.

"You should enjoy the prince title a bit more, it comes with comfort."

"Why, both of you? Why do I have to marry a stranger? You've never seemed to care about these things before." Kage stopped them as they were leaving, wanting answers to why this must happen. He still hoped it was a bad joke.

"A powerful enemy has threatened our kingdoms, both of you working together.. we believe that's the best way to save the kingdoms." With that, Ellora and Kuro left, presumably to the dining room.

Kage muttered to himself, trudging back to his room, "This must be a joke. They have the same powers I do, why can't they just work together and stop it? All I know is absolutely nothing about the enemy, the girl or her kingdom."

Annalise popped her head around the corner just as Kage was passing by, almost making it to his room.

"Girl? Kage, did you say something about a girl?!" Annalise giggled, running to catch up with him and intercept his way back. "Tell me! I want to know all about this!"

"Perfect timing. There's nothing about a girl, I've got no idea what you're on about, Annalise." Kage grinned, his sisters always managed to make him happy. Even when it was pestering him, he enjoyed the company ever since Enzo was lost. The death of his cousin, Kit, also made things a bit more lonely. Sometimes though, his sisters could be a tad too annoying.

"C'mon! I know what I heard! There's gotta be something interesting. Calista will wanna hear too!" Annalise ran off to go find Calista, not even giving her brother the chance to speak.

Kage took the opportunity to blend in with the shadows, materializing back in his own room soon after. His preferred way to travel. He locked his door as well, keeping his sisters out for the next time they came running.

Aelrindel turns, sweeping towards the door, Ashera rising to join him. Aelrindel throws a final order over his shoulder. "Pack quickly, you will leave tonight. Along with your personal guard." Ruina holds her breath, and...? Aelrindel pauses to look at his daughter,"Thaola and Tarron may accompany you if they wish." Ruina let's out her held breath with relief, she didn't know what she would do if she had been unable to bring her best friends along with her. They did everything together, and she knew she would need them to help her get through this unexpected situation.

Then the King and Queen were gone, leaving the two royal children alone with Thaola and Tarron. Revalor takes a few steps towards his sister,"Go pack, all three of you. I will prepare your personal guard. I wish I could go with you, but father needs me here." Ruina grumbles,"Doesn't he need me here too." Revalor shakes his head, sighing. "All will be okay, sister." Ruina turns on her heel, sweeping out of the room. Thaola and Tarron nod at Revalor before following after Ruina. They would all head to their room to pack

The stallion was already tacked and ready to go, he had saddlebags on him. While a royal carriage would brought along to carry the other chests that were brought. Clothes for Ruina, Tarron, Thaola, and the royal guard. While weapons and other smaller items would remain on the horses and their riders. Ruina's own sword sat on her hip, having just been recently cleaned and sharpened.

"Rui." Ruina turns to see her cousin walking towards her. Like her, Tarron was dressed in Zheling armor, which was pure black and slim fitting to be comfortable and easy to move in. Although, it had also been worked at to make it as protective as possible. It honestly looked like normal clothing to an extent. Among the clothes that had been packed, included formal clothing for the party. Which yes, included dresses for Thaola and Ruina. Thankfully, Ashera had allowed Ruina to pick which dresses, but the Queen had made sure they were packed.

The sun was setting, and as soon as her parents came to say goodbye, they would be off. Revalor and Thaola were off to the side of the courtyard, talking to the royal guard. Suddenly the door opens and out exits the king and queen. Thaola, Tarron, and the royal guard bow. While Revalor and Ruina turn towards their parents. Aelrindel rests his gaze on his daughter. "Do not disappoint me daughter." Ruina's eyes flash and Aelrindel continues, tone a little softer,"Be safe." While Ashera moved across the courtyard to pull her daughter into a hug. "I will miss you, be safe, and don't worry."

After a long goodbye to her brother and mother, Ruina had finally led the party out. With Thaola on her left, Tarron on her right. The carriage being pulled right behind them, and the royal guard fanned out around them. The trek had not been terrible as throughout the kingdom, they had stopped to rest in cities. It was only once they had left the kingdom when they started to become weary.

They arrived the next evening, the castle of Eskya looming over them as Eskya soldiers greeted the party in the courtyard. The royal guard dismounted first, before glancing towards their princess. Ruina sighs before she, Thaola, and Tarron dismounted. Sol turns his head to sniff at Ruina's hair as she stands at his shoulder. She kept her head high, her grey eyes calm and regal as she looks around. One hand rested on the hilt of her sword and the other one rested on Sol's shoulder.

Kage had woken up that morning way too early, just before sunrise. He spent his time trying to finish his book, and a small amount researching the princess. The only information his brain held was that she had pyrokinesis, and.. just about nothing else.

When it was time, Ellora had come knocking on his door telling him to get ready. Kage had tried his best to get away with wearing his regular, casual, clothes but.. it failed every time. He was cornered into wearing the formal clothing provided for him.

Last night he had heard the commotion of new people wandering the castle, even evesdropping a bit on conversation. Nothing stuck with him though, all of it being deemed useless conversation.

He made his way down to the ballroom led by his mother, who gave him tips on how to act princely since he had been gone for a while and, in her words: "Had probably forgotten everything about it."

The ballroom was giant, and Kage didn't like it. Although they kept the room much darker than usual to accomodate Kage's umbrakinesis. This was where he was supposed to meet the princess, and he thought it was a stupid location. They had fixed up the room to make it feel more.. comfy? They made it look like a giant version of a living room. As soon as Kage had sat down on one of the couches, Ellora vanished into the shadows. She seemed to know that Kage would question her, and didn't want that.

"Oh well." He sighed. He was playing around with the shadows, testing out his umbral conjuration when he heard the doors open. He didn't bother to look, just waiting for them to come to him. He turned the shadow into a makeshift ball of void before making it vanish completely. He returned it back to the shadows.

"Welcome."

"I'm not wearing a fucking dress."

Gianna and Einarr exchange an exasperated glance. Gianna was Ruina's wardrobe, she had been sent to make sure Ruina wore what Ashera had sent along, and not armor. While Einarr had been Ruina's personal guard for five long years. The two were use to Ruina's refusal to wear formal wear and often teamed up to bribe or force the princess into such attire. Not to torture her, but because it was her parents command. Einarr offers,"It's your favorite dress." He gestures to where the dress and jewelry Gianna had picked out were waiting.

A beautifully long red dress that contrasted perfectly with Ruina's tan skin. It was strapless and curved down into a v, showing off just enough skin without being considered inappropriate. While on the left, there was a slit that allowed Ruina's left thigh to be present when she walked. A favorite feature of hers as it was not only badass, but it was where she hid a knife so she would never be completely weaponless. Sat on the dresser was Ruina's headwear, a modest black crown, adorned with simple patterns and standing a few inches tall. Then there were also her intricately crafted golden dragon bracelets, that she could strike together to generate a small but controlled flame.

Ruina makes her way through the halls, having finally been coaxed into the dress and jewelry, guided by two Eskya guards and flanked by Einarr and Tarron. Thaola was not present, as she had chosen to sleep in, whereas Tarron had been up earlier enough to offer his company. Which Ruina had gratefully accepted, glad to have her cousin by her side. Although brooding and quiet, Tarron was a reassuring presence to have nearby. Tarron and Einarr were dressed somewhat similar, but Tarron's was more formal than Einarr, whose main goal was to protect the princess at all costs.

Tarron was dressed in formal attire, black pants and suit, with a black undershirt. Which for many, Ruina considered too much black, but it fit Tarron perfect and accented his black hair and grey eyes. Einarr was in a new Zheling armor that had recently been crafted. Designed to look like formal wear but built with armor-like material. It was to help guards blend in during formal events. Einarr was among the first to have the privilege of testing it and wearing it, and it looked good on him.

The Eskya guards come to a halt before two closed doors that Ruina assumed led to the ballroom, where she had been informed she would be meeting the prince. The umbrakinesis prince. Ruina had touched up on Eskya on the way, and had learned a little bit more about the prince. Including that the prince did not live in Eskya's capital city of Whiteridge, but rather Viorela. Another one of Eskya's sprawling cities. One of the guards opens the door, announcing,"Princess Ruina Agarvran of Kheoles." Ruina sweeps inside, Tarron and Einarr on her heels.

Grey eyes sweep the ballroom, taking it in. It was giant, much like the one back home. Although currently, this ballroom had been set up to represent a living room like area. Not to mention, this ballroom was darker than the one Ruina was used to. No doubt for the prince and his abilities. Speaking of which, on one of the couches sat the prince. Prince Kage Dell. He was tall, although Ruina wasn't sure how tall since he was sitting. He was handsome, she had to admit, only to herself though. With obsidian colored hair and piercing silver eyes. A small smile graces Ruina's face, although it doesn't reach her eyes.

"Prince Gloom."
