Name:
Karno
Age:
4 Years Old
Gender:
Male
Breed:
~30% Northern Inuit, ~50% Tamaskan, ~20% Malamute
In short, a bit of a mess. He's got quite a few accidental breedings in his lineage, so definitely not the top pick for most teams. He is not a wolfdog. Northern Inuit and Tamaskan dogs are both selectively bred to resemable wolves.

Karno is, in few words, a gigantic dog. From his broad head to wide shoulders, from his large paws to thick fur, all the way to how tall he is, everything about the male shows that he's bigger than your average hound. It's easy to see the collection of breeds in his body, with his broad shoulders and other smaller parts of his build coming from a malamute, while the primary focus of his genetics comes from his northern inuit and tamaskan bloodlines.
Standing tall, Karno reaches around, or maybe just above, 31 inches. Not so much that's it's noticable, but on a measuring tape he wouldn't be a clean measurement, aided by thick fur around his shoulders. His weight, however, truly shows how large he is as a canid, clocking in at around 100lbs at any given time. It fluctuates slightly depending on how well he's eating, but tends to hang around the 100 mark due to his build and muscle.
The coat and face of the male are parts that are often considered his most wolfish qualities, thanks to his Northern Inuit and Tamaskan bloodlines. His eyes however, to a trained eye, dispute this claim completely, being a near crystal blue rather than the amber or brown eyes of wolves. His face shape is quite wolfish, with fluffy cheeks, rounded ears and a long muzzle ending in a black nose. His coat seems to be a mix of greys, browns and whites, with white markings on the lower half of his legs, his tail, and stretching from his muzzle down his throat into a creamy underbelly. His sides and near-underbelly especially show the brown parts of his fur, but looking between the grey guard hairs shows the brown underneath. Grey stretches from his rump, flanks, shoulders, all the way to crowding his face with grey, until the stark white fur on his muzzle takes over.
Being the kind of dog he is, Karno has had his scrapes in the past with other dogs, and has a few scars upon his body to prove it. His throat has been mostly protected by thick fur, but his shoulders have taken some force, and his muzzle shows signs of being nipped at during squabbles.
Personality:
Aggressive || Territorial || Possessive || Resource Guarding Behavior || Unpredictable || Protective || Loyal || Independant || Anti-Social || Personal Space || Observant || Actions Before Words || Untrusting || Uncaring of Most || Bit Rough Around The Edges
Karno is a male that can, in short, be described as both aggressive and violent. He relies on his teeth to get his point across more than his words, knowing many don't listen to the latter, but take the former as a genuine threat - which it is. He's not afraid of snapping at others if he needs to in order to defend what's his, whether that's his sleeping spot, his food, someone he cares about, or even his personal space, all are worth baring his teeth to protect, in his opinion.
Once something is his, it's his. Karno takes no shit about someone or something that's his, protection veering into possessiveness, and isn't down for just empty threats when push comes to shove. To those that have earned his trust, he's loyal to a fault, and more than willing to shed blood for them - both his own, and someone else's. It takes a long time to get to that point, of course, and the male is distrustful of all until proven he can trust them, and is likewise uncaring is most until they worm their way into his little stone heart, and then he follows them around like a very big and aggressive lost puppy.
That's not to say Karno needs anyone. Gods no. He's a dog that prides himself on his independance, and takes special care to keep his personal space as his personal space. He values his time alone, finding most others annoying or overbearing most of the time, and enjoys the peace and quiet. He doesn't feel the need to be with others all the time, he doesn't feel the need to lounge with a pack or sociolize or even coddle pups (not to say he's mean to pups, he wouldn't attack them the way he would most adults, but he doesn't give them the same allowances others might).
Being a dog so quick to aggression, this male is highly observant of his surroundings, and those in them. He may be rough around the edges when it comes to sociolization, but if you need someone to watch your back and look out for threats, Karno's a pretty good match. Is he the most observant dog? No, absolutely not. But he'll notice some things that others might not.
What’s Their Damage?:
Aggression is Karno's issue.
He has been known to show aggressive behavior towards both handlers and other dogs, and although not all other canines are subject to his aggression, many are. He can be snappish and outwardly aggressive to both, but has never been recorded as having actually bit a handler.
His size, partnered by this temperament, have left him putting handlers and previous sled teams on edge, and resulted in him being thrown at whatever sorry sod wanted to take a chance on him.

Yes, I know the images are not the same animal. Pretend they look similar enough alike that they are, please. I'm taking aspects of them both and use of the different angles to show him fully, and I'm specifically using the eyes of the first image 🙏
