Name:
Rhodia
Gender:
Female
Age:
3 Years
Appearance:
Rhodia is a slender wolf with long legs. Her fur is short and sleek, similar to that of a jackal. Since her fur is short, she doesn't really have a mane like other wolves tend to, and her tail isn't as bushy as other wolves. She has gray fur, with her back being mainly colored black. She has a few stripes of white through the black that are noticeable. Her gray and black fur is blended together with a dark brown color.
Rhodia's face is similar to a jackal as well, with her snout being slightly longer than normal. Her nose is black, with a faint pink stripe down the center. Her teeth are sharp and clean, with only the tips being faintly stained yellow. Her eyes are a bright gold color, with an umber color around her pupil. She still has the cheek fur like other wolves, it's just smaller than normal. The tips of her ears are more rounded than pointed.
Personality:
Friendly | Humble | Kind of a coward | Clingy | Clever... sometimes
Rhodia tends to be friendly to others. Even strangers, though she's always wary of them at first (especially if her mom isn't there to protect her). Even when she feels like snapping, she tends to just bite her tongue and be nice anyway, even if whoever she's talking to is just irritating, or rude, or unbearably loud.
She doesn't often brag about herself or her accomplishments, since she just feels awkward if she does. She actually kind of hides her accomplishments to avoid praise, except from her mom, because she loves when her mom notices her achievements. She's gotten so used to being protected by her pack, that it's turned her into a coward, since she's not used to having to defend herself. Her cowardice makes her irritatingly clingy. If you want to find her, just look for one of her parents and you should find her.
Affilations:
Rialóir - Mother
Aistear - Dad
Buttercup - Best Friend
Other:
Done!

"Without darkness we would never see the light."
~•~
Appearance:
Zephyr's fur is more fluffy and longer than others'. It always seems to look lightly tousled as if the breeze has ruffled it. The fur around his chest makes him look like he has a mane, albeit a rather short one. His fur is pale gold with streaks of darker shades like champagne and mellow gold which blend in together. He has a small white dash on his chest. His right eye is sky blue with a ring of grey around the pupil and his left is deep brown. His nose is cloud grey, contrasting with his golden coat.
~•~
Personality:
Bright | Energetic | Cheerful | Free-spirited | Playful | Calm | Optimistic | Compassionate | Curious | Gentle | Difficult to understand | Chatterbox - trust me, he can yap | Friendly | Adventurous | Cheeky | Honest | Emotionally distant | Observant | Restless | Inconsistent
~•~
Zephyr is pretty unpredictable with his personality. He can be fun to be around, a bright ray of sunshine, helping out others but he's also a handful. He is always moving around, jumping from one thing to another and it can be hard to keep up with him yet he always seems to have a calm presence. His inconsistency can make it hard for him to form deep bonds with others. Despite this, he is good at talking and has a natural charm with others, making him a big favourite in his pack despite what some of them say.

Family:
Azryn - Father
Nyla - Mother
Hawk* - Brother
*might change his name

Other: pretty much finished

Rhodia

A cool breeze flowed through the forest's canopy, rustling it's leaves around and creating a sound similar to a fox shuffling through a pile of leaves. Not relaxing at all for Rhodia, though. She sat in front of her mother, Rialóir, and father, Aistear, looking down at her paws and shifting them around uncomfortably. "Now. We called you in here, as we and the alphas of the.." Rialóir paused before continuing. "..Savages, have decided that the only way we'd ever create peace is if you and Zephyr were friends."
Rhodia's fur stood up, and she turned to look at her mother with a shocked face. "Really? That's the only way we could possibly be peaceful? That makes no sense! I've never even met Zephyr before in any way other than a border squabble! And now you want us to be friends? After fighting his pack for so long? I can't see the logic in that!"
"It's better than a forced marriage, which is what most other packs do! So don't argue with me or I'll ask to arrange that instead!" Rialóir snarled, her teeth gleaming in the light. The sight of her teeth made Rhodia shrink away, since she knew that meant arguing would not end well. And it seems when her mother saw her submission, she quickly hid her teeth back behind her lips before continuing. "And don't question me either. I am your mother, and your matriarch. Just because you're my heir doesn't give you any right to argue with me."
Rhodia turned and gave her dad a pleading look, silently begging him to help her, but he just averted her gaze. He's clearly not as fond of the idea as her mother is, but even he didn't want to argue with her. Not even he will help me..? I'm stuck, aren't I?
The sound of her mother's voice interrupted her thoughts, and she turned to look at her as she spoke. "We will meet them shortly to arrange this further. Get ready to leave."
Then, Rialóir turned around flicking her tail to dismiss her. Rhodia crept towards the entrance, but when she stepped out, she heard her mother bark to call her back over. So she turned back around, heading back over to her. "You may not tell anyone in the pack about this. This is our secret, got it? And this will stay a secret between us and the savages' alphas. Do you understand?" Her teeth flashed out dangerously again, and Rhodia, panicking, swiftly nodded. "Good. You may leave."

She bolted out of the den, and was immediately greeted by the sound of Buttercup's happy barks. "Rhodia! What happened? Is something wrong? Did you get in trouble?" Buttercup said as she hobbled over to her, and leaned on Rhodia's shoulder when she reached her.
"It's not a big deal." She replied, helping her friend walk over to a rock. She received a very offended look for saying that.
"It is a big deal! I want the story! Tell me! Pleeease?" She gave her a pleading look, before settling down on the rock.
"It's a royal secret." Rhodia said, with a forced smirk, which made Buttercup do an exaggerated gasp.
"Oh, come on! What's with you and 'royal secrets' lately?" She moaned. Buttercup has always been one to not be able to handle secrets very well. She always much know them. "Ooh, is it a super secret? Like so so secret secret?"
Rhodia smiled at her, but it was hard to tell if it was forced or not. She wasn't very happy right now. "Yeah. Kinda. A secret so secret that my mom would chew my tail off if I told anyone." Saying that made Buttercup do another exaggerated gasp. Then, they paused for a moment, staring at the floor. "I think I should go. I need to think for a little bit. Alone. Do you want me to help you go somewhere before I leave?"
"Ah okay." Buttercup said, but Rhodia could hear the disappointment in her tone. "I'll be fine right here. I wanted to sunbathe for a while anyway."
So with that, Rhodia barked goodbye to Buttercup, and then stood up to go to her den for a while.

Zephyr
The bird pecked the forest floor, unaware of the predator watching it. Zephyr lowered his body closer to the ground, keeping his pawsteps as light as possible. He knew it would barely feed a pup but he was bored and had nothing else to do. He raised his bottom in the air, wagging his tail, ready to pounce... Something burst through the bushes, scaring the bird away. Annoyed, Zephyr raised his head to see his brother looked around wildly for him. "Really, Hawk? I was about to catch that!" Zephyr snapped, fur bristling. His brother looked skeptical and shook his head, walking over to Zephyr.
"Even if you did, which I doubt, who is that going to feed? And why are you so bothered?" Zephyr sighed, muttering a quiet "Nevermind." A moment of silence fell over them before Hawk decided to announce his big news. "Mother and Father want to see you. It's urgent." Zephyr frowned at that, his parents were usually quite glad that he was out and about. He opened his mouth to question it but Hawk was already gone. Only a second later, he popped his head through the bush. "Are you coming?" he asked.
The walk back to the pack was quiet. A breeze swept past them, ruffling Zephyr's fur. Like it wasn't messy enough. He was content with the comfortable silence but Hawk, once again, broke it. "Y'know, I don't think you'll like what they have to say. But just think about it, okay?" Now this was even more confusing.
"Hawk, what-" he was cut off as he narrowly dodged a low hanging branch. His brother had disappeared again. With a frustrated huff, Zephyr headed over to his parents' den. A few wolves raised their heads to glance over at him, a few lingering gazes from the advisor but nothing out of the ordinary. He scoffed under his breath. His brother was probably just trying to scare him. And it was a terrible plan too.
He entered the den. His mother looked anxious but his father's face betrayed nothing. "Mother, Father." He gave a small nod to each of them in greeting. Azryn nodded back. "You must be wondering why called you here," he stated. Yes, yes I am. So if you could please hurry this up, dear dad of mine.
"We have decided to make a truce of sorts with the other pack, the rogues." He practically spat that last word out his mouth. Zephyr nodded in agreement. So good news. As long as he didn't have to see their faces too often he was fine, especially not the bratty heir. Their few disputes along the border had given him a good enough look at her personality. "What's so important that you had to call me so urgently, Father? You could have announced this later, to the whole pack."
Nyla sighed, shaking her head. "I don't think this is a good idea-"
"No!" Azryn growled. "It's for the good of the pack. To keep the peace." He turned back to Zephyr. "You see, you and Rhodia must become friends." Zephyr's eyes widened. "Absolutely not! I don't understand, why me? Hawk would be a much better candidate!" He argued.
"This isn't up for debate! It's final. You will become friends with her and you will do this because you care about the pack. Even if you don't, it is not an option."
Zephyr gaped at his father in disbelief. "I- what-" He glanced at his mother for help but Nyla simply came over and nuzzled her son's fur.
"It'll be fine, Zephyr," she said simply. It didn't make him feel any better. He knew he was one of the heirs, expected to look after his pack, make big decisions, make sacrifices for them. He was responsible for them. Yet Zephyr hated it. He didn't ask to be the Alphas' son, have all these responsibilities. It was all being forced on him when it felt like he'd just learned what it was like to be himself, Zephyr, not the heir.
Azryn was just as stubborn as he was, there was no changing his mind. Besides, how would it look to the other pack if they backed out? Zephyr might not have liked the decision but his ego was not going to take a hit like that.
With a small sigh, he nodded. "I understand," he replied quietly. Exiting the den, he found Hawk waiting right outside.
"So, how do you feel?" Hawk inquired, walking alongside Zephyr as they left the pack again. Zephyr shrugged. "It's, well, how you'd expect to feel."
"Not very happy?"
Zephyr nodded. He liked this about his sibling. He didn't need to explain himself, how he felt, Hawk just understood. And the long stretches of quietness between never felt weird or uncomfortable.
"I guess I'm going to be friends with a rogue."

Rhodia

Walking into her den, Rhodia slumped onto her bed of moss. The softness of it was so welcoming, like the perfect place to just sit and cry for a while. Now she wasn't going to cry right now, but maybe later, or tomorrow. Right now, she just wanted to think about how she'd approach this situation. She didn't know Zephyr all that well, all she knew was that he was the less mature behaving son of the "Savages" as her mother called them. She didn't agree with calling them that, as they're just doing what they have to do to survive. She would much rather be stuck with Hawk, the other son. He seemed a lot more pleasant from what she heard her dad say a couple days ago. Now thinking about it, that was probably when they started planning this situation, and they were just trying to prepare her in some way.
But it doesn't matter. Not anymore at least.

"Rhodia, come on. We're leaving now." She heard her mother growl.
"Already?" She moaned. "But you said we'd leave shortly! Not immediately!"
"It's been a half an hour already. Hurry up and come out so I can tidy up your fur." Rialóir huffed. And reluctantly, Rhodia dragged herself out of her den, and sat down in from of her mother.
"Is this really necessary?" She whined, as her mother began to straighten some tufts of her fur that were sticking up. "There really isn't any other way?"
Her mother's stern face softened for a moment. "This is the only way. I know, you don't want to do it, but think, you're doing it for the good of the pack. Our pack." She replied strangely softly, before snapping back to her stern attitude. "Now let's get moving."

Rialóir began to lead her out of the camp. Rhodia sat for a moment, before reluctantly following her mother. She could feel the curious gazes of her packmates burning into her fur, and there was no doubt one of them was Buttercup. The moment she stepped out of camp, the bushes rustled next to her as her dad popped out of them, walking next to her and licking her cheek. "You don't have to worry. You'll like Zephyr. I'm sure of it." But that didn't mean anything, and Rhodia knew it. Everyone was completely silent as they walked there, with the only the sounds around being the crunching of the leaves underneath their paws and wind through the trees above.
After walking through the forest for a while, they made a stop at an isolated clearing. Rhodia couldn't smell any wolves nearby at this point. This was beyond their territory. My first time leaving the borders. "We wait here for Alphas Nyla and Azryn to arrive here. Now pick your head up and look confident. We can't have you looking weak in front of them." Rhodia sat next to her mom, putting on the best confidence face she could, but she could tell it wasn't working very well. And now, they sat here waiting.

Zephyr
It was a while before Zephyr and Hawk decided to head back to camp. When they returned, they were surprised to see their parents waiting for them near the entrance. "Finally!" Azryn barked impatiently. "We need to go now, sort out your fur. The both of you." Zephyr glanced at his brother then Nyla.
"Hurry up now, the other pack are waiting for us," Nyla said softly. Zephyr tried to groom his long fur but now matter how long he spent, it still had that ruffled look. Growling quietly in frustration, Zephyr glanced up at his parents who were calling him. He went over to them, suddenly dread filling his stomach. It was still surprising that his parents had agreed to such a thing. And that they'd chosen their more careless son. It was obvious that Hawk was the best candidate. Despite all this, Zephyr kept his jaw shut and followed his parents to the meeting place. He couldn't help but notice how sleek and neat Hawk's deep brown fur was, not a single patch of fur out of place. If only his own coat would behave like that.
𖦹
It was a quiet walk. The air was filled with tension and dread, mostly from Zephyr. He stared at the slightly muddy ground as he travelled. Suddenly he felt a nudge on his side. His mother looked at him, her brown eyes shining in the light.
"It'll be okay. Don't worry too much, I'm sure you will enjoy it. One way or another," she told him softly. Of course Zephyr didn't believe her. He had to be friends with Rhodia! The heir of the enemy pack. She was horrible, or so he had heard, and there was no way anything was going to be okay again. If they backed out of the truce the other pack would probably look down on them forever and Zephyr's ego could not take that. If they went along with this then Zephyr's life would be terrible and his ego also wouldn't be able to take him being friends with a rogue. But it was for the pack, right?
"Of course, Mother. Thank you."
To Zephyr's surprise, Azryn also tried to be comforting. In his own special way. "When you get there you're going to show them that you won't back down, head up and no fidgeting or else you won't look confident. I know you can do this." Zephyr blinked a few times but set a determined look on his face. Even his father believed in him for once! Now feeling a bit better, Zephyr hurried his pace to match Hawk's. He'd somehow managed to get far ahead.
𖦹
They chatted for a while and joked about Zephyr running away to go befriend a rogue.
"At least she won't become your mate," Hawk noted.
"And thank goodness for that. I might not survive to next winter as it is. I bet she's extremely boring." They quietened when they realised they were crossing the border. Aistear and Rialóir were already waiting for them. They all took their spots in front of them, murmuring greetings and dipping their heads slightly in respect.
𖦹
Zephyr eyed Rhodia, wondering if they really could be friends. Then Azryn spoke up. "As you know this truce will be quite beneficial for both our packs. Hopefully this will be the start of a good and long unity."
"Would you like to say anything? Or in case you have changed your minds?" Nyla added on.
