Trial By Fire
Still Kind of a WIP
In a world absorbed in electronics and social media, child deliquency has been running rampant, leaving the world in the hands of future adults who often feel left out, misunderstood, and angry. They aren't to be blamed for this, though, it's the world that they have inherited, without any true instruction on what to do with it. Attempts have been made in the past to change that narrative, but they've all failed, leaving the young adults confused and lost more than before.
However, the Phoenix Range, a horse ranch, has decided to work with the largest Juvenile Hall to try and chance that. Believing that hard work, hard days, and horses could help put these young deliquents on a better bath, they have come up with an agreement with the state government. Ten Deliquents will be taken to the Ranch for a summer program, where they will stay until the end in hopes that they will leave, in some way, reformed. If they can give these kids a better life, a place where they learn that they mean something, they believe the world will be a better place.
These ten teenagers will have a hard summer ahead of them, everything in them put to a test, but in the end, it could be worth it. They will all be asigned one horse at the ranch they will be in charge of solely. It'll be their responsibility to care for, gentle, and train these horses to be be Ranch horses, and prepare them for the End of Summer Challenge. A final test to prove everything they have done and learned, and will one day be able to pass on to younger generations.
But for today, May 27th, their lives will change forever. Hopefully for the Better.

The Roleplay Rules
Follow all of Eve's and WP's Rules
1. Be Active. If you've been in any of my rps, you know how it goes. For those that dont: Post every 1-2 days, and if you fall inactive, you will not receive a warning, you'll simply be removed.
2. Reservations will last for 48 Hours. Extentions may only be given if you ask, but I make no promises.
3. Two characters per person for now. 1 Human, 1 Horse.
4. Detailed Descriptions for Appearance and Personality required at minimum for both.
5. Follow WP's Rules when using stock for the Horses. For this rp only stock from Deviantart is accepted.
6. This Rp is Semi-Literate at Minimum. Though it will verge closer to Literate.
7. No Perfect Characters, God Modding, or anything of the Sort.
8. Also, don't have your character be "That Guy". You know the one. While breaking rules can be fun, it isn't when it's constant. So just don't be "That Guy".
10. The Horses Cannot be Untameable or Untrainable. All the horses are meant for Beginners to Intermediates. So keep that in mind when making them.
11. I will be assigning Horses to Riders, so don't be surprised if you don't get paired with who you had in mind.
12. Read Everything. If you have put the missing number in your form somewhere, hide it please.

Phoenix Range Ranch Rules
[PRRR]
1. None of the Opposite Gender are Allowed in the Bunk Houses After 10 Pm on Weekdays, and 12 AM on Weekends. Bunk Checks Will Be Done.
2. Absolutely No Drugs, Alcohol, or Illegal Activity Will be Allowed on the Ranch.
3. No Fighting. If you are found fighting, there will be Consequences.
4. Meal Times are Not Negotiable. If you aren't there for them, you won't eat until the next meal. Snacks are allowed when Permitted. Water is allowed whenever Needed.
5. Any Abuse Towards the Horses or Animals Will NOT be Tolerated. You will be immediately sent back. |

About Phoenix Range
TBA - WIP
Phoenix Range is a Large Ranch that has multiple purposes. One is they are a refuge for several herds of Wild Horses. For the Spring and Summer Months the Mustangs reside on Phoenix Range, for the Fall and Winter they're moved to a different location.
PR primarily does Horse Training and Breeding, so while there the Deliquents will be helping with these horses [theirs are the ones being trained] as well as with the mares who are foaling, etc.
There are other livestock on the Ranch, like cow, goats, chickens, and sheep. As the Ranch is Self-Sustainable to a point. The Deliquents will also have to do chores and work around the Ranch, like collecting eggs, milking cows, etc. This is along with their duties of training and caring for their horses.

The Buildings
There are several building on the Ranch, as it's a rather large one.
There is the Main House, which is where the Ranch Owner and his family lives. He's an older gentleman, with his wife, and occasionally his children and grandchildren will visit. But it's primarily just them. All of the meals are prepared in the Main House, so they can come get their food, and disperse to where they want to eat.
There are Two Bunk Horses, one newly built, one newly remodeled. They're identical in appearance, but one is for the Girls and one is for the Boys. Each are one longer building, with their Bunk Room and it's attached Kitchen and Living Area. The only other room is the bathroom. They're simple buildings with Six Bunks in them Each, a TV [Basic Cable nothing Fancy], a Table with Six Chairs, and a Basic Kitchen with just the Basics.
Next is the Horse Stables. There are Twenty-Four Stalls in it, with a Tack Room, Two Washing Stalls, Multiple Foaling Stalls, etc. It's a very nice Stables, and truly the horses want for nothing in it. No expense was spared.
There is also the Barn for other Livestock, the Chicken Coop, multiple Pastures and Paddocks, and a Couple of Round Pens too. Basically every Horse Owner's Extravagent Dream.

Jade is a kind and loving person but to anyone who doesn't know her she can come of rude and cold. She adores her family and will protect them with her life if necessary. Jade has a view that if you hurt her she needs to find something of yours so she doesn't lose them. She values honesty in people and doesn't like it when others are two-faced. Jade is compassionate even tho she has trust issues. She is scared of wolves which is a few different things that had cause this. Alice is a Morgan horse with a dark chestnut coat. She stands at 16 hands and weighs 1,000 pounds. She has a dark brown mane and tail but coming to the end of her mane and tail it becomes brighter brown. Alice has a white blaze on her forehead that is about 10 inches long and in length about 5 inches. She is very agile and has some bulk on her. She doesn't have a lot of bulk but just enough to increase her strength as it is the way she was born. Alice has tan hooves and her snout becomes lighter as it gets to the end of her muzzle. Alice is pretty well built for a female horse in her breed. She has a mix of light brown in her coat around some areas. She has light brown ears and black skin. Where the blaze ends is where her light brown begins on her snout. Alice is slender but muscular no matter what others may say you can she where she is muscular. She has a shiny and smooth coat with a bit few more areas that are dull but not too many. Personality: Alice is a very gentle horse and loves to take care of others. She likes to be out in the sun a lot it is just a habit for her. She can be tempermental given the day but isn't going to risk someone riding her safety. She adores foals and has always wanted one. Alice can be stubborn at times depending on her temperment during the day. Alice loves kids and adults the only problem she has is when she is mistreated which hasn't happened yet. She has been known to kick but doesn't always do it not wanting to hurt anyone. She only gets aggressive when she feels threatened by another horse which can cause her to kick. When she feels threatened by a human she gives off warning signs that are natural to a horse. Alice will love you to death and does like to cuddle with her riders. Rider: ??? Hazel is a mare who has a size that just seems to fit her at exactly 15 hh. She isn't so short as to be viewed as a pony, but she isn't exactly tall either. It makes her a pretty balanced horse that is capable of most things if she decided to set her mind to it. Her build is pretty average too, though she is a bit on the short and stocky side. She doesn't have the musculature that an athletic horse might have, or like a stallion, but she isn't weak either. The mare is ideal for slow paces over long distances, or short bursts of powerful speed. If she was being trained for it, she likely would be an excellent barrel or roping horse. Her build is something she gets from being a Mustang and Quarter horse cross. She doesn't have the long legs of taller breeds, and has more of the build that an American Quarter Horse would have.
The mare is, to put it simply, rather beautiful in appearance when it comes to her coloration and features. She has defined facial features, though they are feminine they aren't sharp. Instead they are more on the softer side with more gently curved lines. She what is considered a Palomino, though from her Mustang heritate you brings along the gentics of the Paint markings on her, so it's easiest just to call her a Palomino Paint. With how her markings are represented, it would likely be that the mare is considered to be of the Tobiano variety, but with her mixed lineage, part of it being wild, it's hard to say for certain.
The cream color of her base covers majority of her body, including her neck and head. Her white markings are on her legs, all four of them, only turning to the creamy tan color as they connect to her body, as well as she has a bit of a white streak on her neck where it meets her shoulders. This marking on her neck is often covered by her mane though. The other white on her is the blaze on her face and right around the base of her tail. Her mane and tail are a soft creamy color just a shade or two above off-white. The mare has two other things to her appear that can catch the attention of others one way or another. The first being a "birth mark" (that's what she calls it) on her right flank. It's a dark brown sploth about the size of matchbook. The second is the dappling that is seen on her coat.
The mare has a set of warm, chocolate brown eyes, and low, but feminine, vocal tones to fit the overall warm and welcoming appearance.

The palomino mare is one of a naturally sweet and calm disposition, not the stereotypical "mare-ish" nature. Can she be? Oh from time to time when she's woken up on the wrong side of the hay, but for the most part she is a constant source of calm and kindness. The sweet mare is naturally a gentle creature with everyone and can be quite affectionate, from foals and to human children, and their adult counter parts, Hazel just doesn't seem to truly have a mean bone in her body. She's compassionate and caring, the type to absolutely go out of her way to help others when she can. Hazel isn't even the type to use harsh words at times. She just doesn't see the point in being needlessly hurtful.
When the warm mare does get frustrated or annoyed from time to time, it's likely going to present itself more in her body language than anything else. She prefers to avoid drama and confrontation, so more than likely she would simply pin her ears and/or walk away if something isn't sitting right with her. If someone continues to bother her, likely trying to escalate the situation, this is one of the few times Hazel will defend herself. She likely won't argue or anything, but she will stand her ground, ignore someone, and perhaps even nip, bite, or kick them. It won't be anything life threatening, just a gentle warning to leave her alone. Truthfully, Hazel has never had to go beyond that point, so she isn't sure what she would do if she had to go passed that.
With her disapproval of aggression and drama, Hazel tends to generate a circle of calm, or peace, around her. A place where others can relax, foals can frolick and have fun, and so on and so forth. She's a quieter mare, not one to speak up often, and only really doing so if she feels it's necessary. The only time the mare gets defensive, and protective, is over foals, especially her own. Hazel has strong maternal instincts, having already had foals of her own, and those instincts extends to all foals, even those that don't belong to her. In fact, they can extend to human children as well, more than willing to be a barrier between a child and an aggressive horse. She just doesn't want to see innocent youths hurt if she can avoid it, and she tends to be very nurturing towards them.
Hazel isn't without her flaws or vices though. The mare has a habit of getting a little bit nervous in new and unfamiliar situations or places, as well as around people she doesn't know. If people let her take her time and get used to things at her own pace, she will be just fine. However, if they don't let her adjust at her own rate, the mare can become a volatile explosion if pushed to quickly. She isn't doing it to be mean, but if she's freaked out, or too nervous or uncomfortable, the mare is going to do whatever she can to get out of that situation or away from that person. This whole thing causes the mare to be a bit anxious when it comes to change. It makes her a bit of a difficult case when it comes ot trailering and transport too, often refusing to enter the trailer without great effort.
The mare also has a mild addiction to snacks. She loves carrots, apples, sugar cubes, mints, etc. All of it. It won't win her over completely in one go, but the mare will also never turn down a treat. Unless it smells funny.
Now, there's a couple of other things to keep in mind, things I forgot to mention and that's why they're being added on here. Hazel is not exactly a push over, but she's not often going to push back. More of an indifferent ignore kind of thing. You can yap at her all day, and more than likely she's just going to ignore you and keep doing her own thing. The palomino paint is also hard working, and while she doesn't have the motivation or drive to do everything, when she knows a job needs doing, she will put her shoulders into it and get it done without complaint. She's just a reliable mare like that.
