'I saw this fish in the pet store and *had* to act and rescue it.' I keel over and pass away |

eci lolll when people are like "i rescued them FROM the breeder" like ohhh noooo |
Nikwasi |
Eci I would never buy a dog from either of those- every dog I've owned has been a rescue Buying dogs from byb's and pet shops just gives them more funds to keep their horrible business running |
Nikwasi |
Honey Yep. Doesn't help that she was inbred either. I've had 6 pitties in my life and only two were in any way aggressive. They've all been rescues too |

Nikwasi, thank God. I try not to start flamewars on this site but people saying they rescued a dog from a byb / pet store is like my sleeper code. XD |
Honey |
yeah i love pitties but they do have a tendency to be animal reactive if it isn't addressed during early training :( |
Nikwasi |
Eci Not bought, no. The operation was shut down and she went to a shelter- so I guess we technically rescued her from there. Out of all the putties I've owned in my life I've only had two aggressive ones |

My red nosed pittie had to be put down a few years after we got her. Rescued her from a backyard breeder. Apparently she was super inbred and turned out to be *very* aggressive and I believe there was something truly wrong with her brain- she attacked my older dog and that was the final straw |

@Eci She's honestly not bad like you would think for what she's mixed with. Her training is going great and we are making progress again but before she got attacked, her people and dog aggression was completely gone. Now she's just dog reactive but getting better. |

Nikwasi Yeah, that's my big concern </3 my hopes aren't incredibly high. I think a lot of it will die off, but a few chunks still had a good root system and relatively undamaged leaves. I'll be feeding the hell out of it to give it the best odds. |

Dog and people aggression is really common for Anatolian Shepherds and German Shepherds. Glad she's with more suitable owners now. I can't imagine anyone would think that breed mix makes for a good pet and then getting rid of them when that's not the case. |

ET Hopefully it'll pull through Mimosa plants and generally pretty fragile/sensitive though |

My dog Rosie reminds me a lot of my dog that I put down. Their personalities and all are pretty similar. She's the best girl though. Great with my two kids, my cats, and she absolutely adores my boyfriend's pittie. |

@ET I don't know honestly. I put my dog down a month before I got her. I was scrolling through Craigslist and I knew I had to have her. Found out she was abused so she went through training for her people and dog aggression. Then probably four months ago my boyfriend's mom's dog got out because she didn't close the gate and let her dog out and she attacked mine for no reason. Now Rosie is back in training for her reactivity and doing better. |

Nikwasi Neither, neither, but I am going to be a bit sad whenever I look at that plant for the next few days. I just hope it lives, I'll genuinely be heartbroken if it dies |
