Hi ^^ so I have this art piece I am working on and I am not happy with how water/puddle looks-it is supposed to be very shallow(so paws not being below water is kinda what I have been going for, thou you can comment your disagreement on that too and explain how and why to fix it). My issue with water is-it looks pretty muddy and yeah it is muddy water so it makes sense XD but also undefined, non trasculent and overall pretty fake looking water ;-; if water can look fake... It does not destroy the whole art, but I kind of wanna improve on it . And water circles look so out of place fdespite them having to be there cause it is raining and I ant it depicted that way :'3 maybe I just need another way to style them? Dunno? Transculent water bolbs are sketch-so I have yet to define them, they are being water bended. You can give water advice for them too. And yeah I might lower that brightnes cause overall atmosphere is murky, thou I might keep shine to reflect how water is being manipuled by some unnatural power. I am unsure if I will color lines of wolf cause on one hand it would fit with lineless background, but on the other black lines make him pop. Feel free to advise. And links to tutorials would be helpful too :3

I think the water looks pretty good in general, but to make it more "water like" I would bring the water up the paws a little (very little) because when you look at water touching something it seem to go up a bit :) I think you should also add like a basic reflection of the wolf, and since it's raining, if you make the wolf look more wet and dripping with water, I feel like it would really make the mood your looking for :D

Ah if only I wasn't in classes until 5pm today D: Water is a super tricky thing to draw, so you're doing well! Once I get out of my classes I can show you how I do it if it would help - I can't explain what I mean with words very well

*facepalm* Honestly, thank you so much cause I forget shadow or reflection 90% of the time unless I plan on it having some kind of semi-central role. Thank you for other advices too :3

A bit rushed, but this might help! :0 this is how I usually do stuff with water. I hope you don't mind me doodling over the top of your image! It looks really good as is! [edits [c]157083] Edited at February 27, 2023 01:12 PM by Eternity
