I love how when I play HEE explore on my tablet it lags and zooms/shifts. So I have to pick a new horse and srart explore all over.
The horse I had to pick next -Click-

You need to defeat the animals/enemies. So, yes, it is necessary to get rid of all of the animals.

This. Though you only need to kill all the enemies, the prey doesn't have to be killed to level up
